Member Boards !

Alright so you may have noticed that CD is looking a bit different. We have member boards! Woo! For any of you confused about what this means, click on the Member Boards board - the header table explains it all. I've also reshuffled around the other boards so that we now only have an 'Extras' board - no IC and OOC Extras separate. If anyone is confused by the new system, wants to comment, etc. post here and I'll try and explain away to my bestest.

Descriptions updated! Yep, that's something I meant to add, you can write your own descriptions and then PM them to me or post here or whatever. They should be of reasonable length, though - both Spot's and Moonz's above are fine. The descriptions can be edited whenever you want too, just let me know - and try not to be changing it too often or I'll just get annoyed with you and stopping editing yours at all.

As for coding well, I don't really get what you mean, like what kinds of codes are you thinking? I'm pretty sure that's gonna be a no, though. It's enough work already for me to be doing descriptions and putting up new boards when we get new members and blah blah blah without having to also put up codes for everyone.

True true... Maybe just something an admin can do for themselves.. I meant as in maybe a table showing the index of their board.. Having personal stuff.. Etc. Only problem, as you pointed out, is that you or apo would have to do them becuase if one person has it then everyone will want it >.< I was just pointing out a possibility =3

Also I wanted to know if it was possible to make it so that everyone is sort of the "Mod" of their own board? Like make it so they're about to organize and re-arrange post and possibly delete/sticky/lock any of thread of their desire?.

Um, that sounds like a really good idea but I've never actually understood what being a mod of a board entails. So they can like bump threads, sticky threads, lock threads, delete threads, etc. Can they move them too? Like if they wanted to archive things?

yeah, just the basic stuff that will only be needed to manage their board the way they'd like. Here is how I'd do it.

I'd go to the Member Group section in the Administration panel and create a new group, but keep it named the same as "Accepted Member" like this;

Then I'd check the boxes for the requiered powers you'd like to give them, this is what I'd go with.

Tho' you can change some of course, :3 since you are the admin. xD just a little diagram to show what this should look like.

The only problem with this is that it is for all boards and not just someone's own board, you'd have to like make sure no one will modify other people's boards unless they say it's ok... Admins can track how other members use their power right? P: Idk...

Btw Neko, not sure if giving everyone abilities like that is such a good idea. I mean we all trust each other not to do these things, but new members coming in each day, and you never know... I've seen sites that have fallen apart because everyone got powers and someone decided to abuse it.

And yeah I dunno, I mean if they could only do stuff like that on their own board it would be one thing but as much as I trust everyone I don't think it would be a good idea. Cause we're saying you can get a board after being a member for one week and then we don't want to have like another limit to be able to have the powers and.. Gah. I wish we could make it so everyone could do that on their own board, though, that would be awesome.

Hehe, sorry for the lateness, but here is my board discription:

A brightly lit room, a single filing cabinet; you're alone in the white washed, square room. But when you step closer to the cabinet, that you know notice has one slightly open file peeking out. The scene before you changes like a dream, now you are in a slightly round meadow; having a little bird tell you everything about me, Wildflower or Wild. My charecter's information is open to you like a book and I welcome you to read about cats and thier dreams.
