The hilly slopes rise up to meet with the Bell Mountains which form a neat semi-circle at the edge of the valley. The mountains are rocky and contain much less foliage than the wooded hills. The openness can leave one quite cold, at risk to the wind and altitude. But the vantage point as one looks down into the valley makes it worth it.
