If one were to listen closly,. they might have been able to hear the crunchuing of leaves as a stray cat wondered over them. Under the shadows of a pumpkin vine crouched the cat, her silver fur giving off a slight gleam from the moonlight. The muscels in her legs were bunched, her shoullders haunched. Her eyes were trained on one thing and one thing only. Like a trap, she sprung, agressivly and deadly. Her paws landed on the semi smooth surface of a smaller pumpkin. Her weight on the pumpkin caused it to roll and she soon found herself laying on her back. Silver grinned and gathered her hind legs under the small pumpkin. In one swift kick, it was in the air. She laughed with joy and jumped up to swat it, thankfull at finding a toy that was so fun and a tiny pumpkin barely any bigger then her head. The silver cat swatted the pumpkin away from her and crouched again. She darted t it as if it were prey. When she got to it, she rolled it back and forth between her paws. Her laughter filled the air while she was avliviouse to anything else.

The ivory brute watched the fae with ciriousity. There was finally someone who liked to have fun, just like him, but different. This brute liked to have fun by doing things differently, or playing with strange, not thought of substances. His cerulean orbs zoomed in on the fae's silver coat, and he watched the moonlight cause an auroura around her. This cat seemed to be having fun kicking the young pumkin around, and Jarrah dared to join her. Having fun with Jarrah was always risking trouble, but maybe this cat didn't care, maybe she liked trouble...
His paws crunched on the pumkin leaves surounding him. The blue orbs stayed on the sterling femme, in case she was prepared to attack the stranger tom. Jarrah unsheathed his claws, continuing forward ever so slowly. Before he knew it he was not a fox-length behind the playful femme, and he opened his mouth to speak. Jarrah was not one to be afraid, but for some reason his voice would not come out. Instead he purposely stepped on a leaf. He hoped the she-cat would hear it, but it seemed she wouldn't, for she was too busy with her pumkin.
Clearing his voice, Jarrah raised his head. Finally getting enough courage to speak, he reopened his jaws, the rough tongue inside inbetween two of his clattering teeth. Jarrah took a deep breath, and stepped in front of the she-cat who was now on her back. His paws shuffled around, and he accidentily cracked a fallen leaf. Hey, I haven't seen you around here before; I'm Jarrah, Jarrah Eclipsemoon. Again Jarrah was confused by his different personality around this cat. His usual high-pitched, frisky voice was dull, frightened, yet curious.
Bringing his view from the tabby femme to the suspense around them, Jarrah saw the crushed pumkins, along with the few undamaged ones. Jarrah had been here not long ago, he had met a nice fae known as Eclipse. She had been strangely alike to Jarrah himself, and Jarrah had felt a thin bond towards her. Jarrah had brought himself away from the pumkin patch before the bond got any closer. He didn't want to fall in love, not yet. He has so much left to do in his life, all the fun ideas to accomplish.
Jarrah sighed; was this yet another femme he was going to find himself flurting with, and then actually falling into a relationship with? If it was, Jarrah would stop himself from talking to this fae, and promise himself that he would never return to the feild with the round orange vegetables.

The sound of more leaves crunching went unnoticed by the blind cat. The scent of the tom, too, went unnoticed. tThe onyl thing Silver was aware of was the orange ball rolling back and forth under her paws as she enjoyed her self. It wasn't often that she played around like this. Hey, I haven't seen you around here before; I'm Jarrah, Jarrah Eclipsemoon. The words of the tom starteled the femme as she jumped. She landed facing the direction of the sound, her back arched and her teeth bared. Almost as quickly as she had put it up, she dropped the pose. Then she realized how silly she must have looked playing with the pumpkin, but for once, she didn't care. After all, it wasn't like she could rewind life itself. The silver cat turned her head towards Jarrah's smell so as not to give away her weakness. Of course you haven't seen me. This is proably the first night I've ever been by myself and not in a house. My name is Silver Moonfall by the way. Silver replied, trying to make her voice stern but failing to completly erase a trace of laughter from it.

Silver Jarrah thought to himself. He dipped his head politely, which was sooo not his personality, but he wanted to seem nice to this cat and not a threat. You lived in a house your whole life? Jarrah thought back to when he lived in his house. He thought about how much he had hated it, and he had wanted to get out; maybe that's what Silver had felt. Why did you leave?
His questioned was asked towards Silver, but his mask was facing the moon. He looked around the sky, searching for a star. It must have been too early in the night, for there were no stars lit in the sky. Jarrah sighed and then turned nack to Silver. Yet again this was another cat who had many similarities with him. Her name, her curiousity with strange toys and ways to play, maybe she even was interested with the sky.
There was question in his opts, he had many questions for this femme, too many questions. But he wouldn't ask them yet. He would politely wait for her answer quietly. But Jarrah was very impatient, and he ruffled his paws and twitched his banner. His eyes flickered between the two, and then back to Silver. A grin stretched across his face, but Jarrah soon hid it, not knowing hw corny he looked. A giggle escaped his throat, and before he could hold it back, more words escaped him. You and I are very alike. He smiled, but made him wait the rest of the time.

Silver's eyes stared blankly at Jarrah, her ears and nose doing her seeing for her. You lived in a house your whole life? Why did you leave?[/b] Silver thaught about this for a while, the question rumaging threw her head and at the same time, she was trying to decide what he might look like depending on his voice. She hated this. Hated havig to think in past tense. That stuff was over, done. But she couldn;t just leave him witha. unanswered question on his mind. Actually, I was born in a shelter so I haven't always lived in a house. However, i didn't even spend a full year there. I didn't leave. -they- left me. A babby yanked my tail and I scratched it.... oh well...It's their lost. She replied. Her ears picked up the almost faint sound of movement. This tom seemed to be a little uncomfortable. She was almost surpried when he giggeled out the words, You and I are very alike. How did he know what she was like? Silver was about to say that out loud but then she realized that if he was refering to looks then saying so would instantly ive away her blindness, not something that she wanted to do around a stranger.

Oh... His voice sounded sad, and he wondered whether the sterling femme could detect it. The past overtook his vision and placed him in his old house. He was there with his mother and Iris, all of them were happy. Then the picture lost someone; it was their mother. Jarrah winced at the memory, but it wouldn't go away.
All of the cats were out of the picture now, and Jarrah found himself out on the streets, Iris beside him. He looked over at her light ginger fur, her violet eyes... Iris and Jarrah had been close siblings, and he couldn't bare it when her figure dissapeared out of the picture. Jarrah was alone now; wet, cold, and alone.
He blinked his way back to the present, and couldn't hold back the tears that welled in his eyes. He was unaware hat Silver was blind, and without knowing that he turned his face away, not wanting her to 'see' him. I-I'm sorry ab-ab-out that... He studdered, and grinded his teeth together as he did so. He was disapointed that he couldn't keep his sadness inside him, he wasn't really in the mood for talking about his past.
He dropped the side conversation about them being alike, he would talk about that later. Right now all that really mattered was what had happened in Silver's past, and partioilly his past. He closed his stinging eyes, and took a deep breath to make himself stop shedding the uncalled-for tears. When they had halted, he reopened his optics and gazed strangely patiently at the striped feline.

In Silver's head, she was reliving the expreience of the shelter. A shiver ran up her spine as she recalled the vets visit and her mind dartd back to the present. She wasn't about to let the past get to her more then it already had. The past is the past. Only the present and the future matters. I-I'm sorry ab-ab-out that... [/b] Silver's ears perked up. Silver inhaled threw her nose. She detected a faint trace of salt bt that could have ben from an ancient frenchfri or something. Silver stood up, surprised at how sad Jarrah sounded. Was he really that emotional towards others? Or did she somehow hurt his feelings?
Silver stood up and cocked her heda ina questioning matter. Are you alright? There is no reason for being sory. The past is done and over with, aint nothing could change it so I just have to live with it. We all have to live with it. confusion and alarm sounded in her words as she decided that he was just sensative towards others and was turly sory about her past.
The silver cat heard Jarrah take a breath. He was calming down, that was fine. Silver sat back down, leaning a little against her abadoned toy. Her ears turned a little to liten to the faint sounds of night. Everything was quieter at night and less confusing then the bustling, deafining sounds of day and Silver enjoyed it.

A small grin spread across his face, he liked this cat. She was laid back, and only thinking about the good things in life. Yeah, I know. But I just can't help but remember all of the bad things that had happened in my past. I-its just that it was all so vivid and horrible. A shiver went down his spine as he redundantly remembered his past owners throwing him out into the streets when it was freezing outside.
He sighed, but he couldn't wait any longer, he had to ask his questions. How about we play a game. You like games right? He took a deep breath, not sure if this playful femme woul like this certain 'game'. Ok, here's how it goes. I ask you a question, it can be a yes or no question or an answer question, you answer and then ask me a question. It can be the same question, or a different one. Ok? I'll start. Jarrah paused to let the she-cat catch up on what he had just said. After I thought up my first question, I started.
Have you ever had a true love? His throat tightened on the last word as he realized that it was a very personal question. He closed his eyes, he was such an idiot! What, did he want this cat to think he was falling is love with her? He held his breath inside, not letting it go. But he had to inhale again before Silver had replied, and he thought that Silver probably thought that he was crazy.
He was about to say sorry, and to tell her that he would change his question, but he didn't. He waited, and he decided that maybe just maybe she'd answer, maybe she wouldn't care. But what if she did? Then Jarrah remembered just how her personality was, how she liked to play around and not really care who thought weirdly about her.

Yeah, I know. But I just can't help but remember all of the bad things that had happened in my past. I-its just that it was all so vivid and horrible.[/i] Silver's ears perked towards Jarrah in surprise. He hadn't been as sensative like she thaught he was. Instead, her words had caused a trip down memory lane. Silver tried to figure out what kind of past this cat might have had that could have been braught back by her words. However doing so was almost like trying to see what he looked like by voic alone. Impossable.
How about we play a game. You like games right? Ok, here's how it goes. I ask you a question, it can be a yes or no question or an answer question, you answer and then ask me a question. It can be the same question, or a different one. Ok? I'll start. Silver simply stared at Jarrah with unblinking eyes. Silver wasn't normally one to play any games but letting this tom on that fact after he had already caught her n a rare playful moment would just have made things complicated. She simply sighed and nodded her head a little. Then she waited for the question, absent mindedly rolling the tiny pumpkin under her left paw.
Have you ever had a true love?[/i] Silver thaught about this question. It had caught her by surprise but she didn't let that show. She didn't know weather to tell this tom that she didn't beleive in true love or the fact that other then him the only other toms she had talked to that wasn't behind bars was her brothers. Or should she lie and say yes? The pumkin rolled between her fidgeting paws for five rolls before she decided on a truth. Nope. To be honest, other then my two brother, your the only male I've talked to thats not behind bars.
The silver cat thaught for a while about what question she would ask. Then before she could catch her words, she blurted. Do you have any kittens? Instantly Silver shut her mouth. She loved kittens so she wasn't surprised she asked that but she was scolding herself. This cat seemed to have had a troubled past. What if he did have kittens and they died or something. What will I do if I provoke another bad memory trip? Silver thaught but she couldn't answer her own questions. She would just have to wait and see Jarrah's reaction.

Instead of the depression Silver had expected, Jarrah burst out with laughter. Me? Have kittens!? Another small burst escaped his mouth before he spoke again, I'm barely a year old! I haven't even fallen in love with anyone yet... But he became sad at this point, but for some reason he didn't quite know why. Maybe because all of his friends, and everyone he knew had kittens some even his age, except this she-cat.
He sighed, and looked up at Silver's unblinked yet focused opticals. He noticed they were silver, and he had never seen a cat with silver eyes before, and now that he looked closer, they looked cloudy and blue tinted. He wanted to ask her if she was blind, but he didn't know how she would take. I like the color of your eyes. It blurted out as a statement, and he immediately wanted to take it back. He winced, and turned to face the other direction. But, if this cat really was blind, could he tell he had winced, or yet alone wanted to take the sentance back.
Jarrah had heard of cats being blind, but he had never personaly met them. He heard that instead of using their eyes, they focused on smell, noise, and feelings. So if Silver couldn't see him, she could probably at least detect the disappointed and angry vibes flowing off him like huge tidlewaves. I-I mean... Again another one blurted out, he decided her better figure a way out of this, and fast. But how? What color are my paw pads? The question came to his speedy mind, and it made sence to him at that time to say that question. it was like a trick, even if she wasn't blind, she wouldn't know what color his paw pads were because she hadn't seen them before.
Take a look at m e And you'll see I'm for r e a l

Me? Have kittens!?I'm barely a year old! I haven't even fallen in love with anyone yet...[/b] Jarrah had laughed. Silver sighed with releif. Then she almost laughed as well. She could tell he was young from his smell. She shouldhave realised that h wouldn't have had kittens yet. Silver cauhgt her laugh half way. She scolded herself mentally.
I like the color of your eyes.[/b] Silver's head jerked up. Her ears focused on Jarrah. That comment was definatly out of the blue. For a moment Silver pankied on how to reply. It took just a slpit second before she decided on a simple, thanks Silver smiled. She didn't know her own eye color though her mother had tried to discribe them. Silver instantly chased the memory that was starting to pop up of her mother with a almost unnoticable shake of the head.
I-I mean... What color are my paw pads? The question caught Silver off gaurd. Mentally, she cursed. She thaught about all the colors her mother had discribed well enough to for her to get a grasp of. Then she remembered the color her mother had said her own pads were. However, if she rememerbed corrrectly, her brothers both had differn't colors then her. What if all males have the same pads? what if they don't? Wait, what if his paw isn't lifted for me to see? what do do? Crap. her mind raced,. Her left paw stopped rolling the pumpkin as she thaught about this. She decided to take a wild guess and say the color her mother had said her's was. Grey. Silver sent the pumpkin rolling towards Jarrah's scent with a flick of her wrist. She had decided to add the "I should hope" just in case she got it wrong, however, she just couldn't get those last words out. If she got it wrong she could blame the darkness of night... unless it was a new moon. Then what? Silver's ear fliked back for a split second in irritation.
So, my turn again? Silver half asked, half stated taking the whole color question as part of the game. She thaught a while before askeing Jarrah a question instead of blurting something like she did before. Then she came up with this, Do you have any brothers Silver shut her mouth again. She had once again blurted even though she had thaught it threw. Her mind had strayed to her own two brothers. That was what had made her blurt. Silver's ear flicked again in irritation at herself as she continued to stare at Jarrah, keeping her nose pointed in his direction.

Jarrah looked slightly confused, and his opts showed it. Hehe, good guess, but they're pink. He smiled eith his crooked smile and showed his ivory teeth. The fae looked slightly bored and distrubed, and Jarrah wondered if she would liked to have never started this game. Yeah. he answered both questions with this answer. And that was all he said, he couldn't take this any more, every question sent shivers down his back, forced him to remember the harsh past.
He sighed, rose to his legs and stretched his short legs. We can stop the game now, I don't feel like playing any more. Jarrah guessed that Silver would be releavedd for the conclusion of the game. Neither of them seemed to be very enthusiastic about it. He brought his gaze to Silver's smokey eyes, but decided to ask one last question, and this time he would ask it strait out.
He took a deep breath, and stepped closer to the she-cat. The wind was blowing harder now, and Jarrah guessed a storm was coming in. Being closer the the fae made him warmer but not much. He focused on the way to word his last question, still not wanting to ask it in a rude manner, but also not in a way that it could be a trick question.
Looking again to the femme, he looked deep into his eyes, and cocked his head to the side. Opening his muzzle, he readied for his speech. I can't help but notice, and I have to ask this, I'm sorry. Are you blind?

Hehe, good guess, but they're pink.[/i] Silver bit her toungue to keep from cursing out loud. However, she couldn't keep hre ears from flicking back and her nose wrinkling as she mentally slaped herself. A ssoon as she had put up the face, it came back down into the bored, and sorious face. A tiny smile of joy that starteled silver herself when she heard that he too, had brothers.
We can stop the game now, I don't feel like playing any more Silver sighed a little with releif. She hated this game. She hated having to think befre talking, not sure of what would spring a memory. She also hated these questions she was beng asked.
Jarrah's scent drew a little closer as he stepped towards Silver. If she hadn't been mentally arguing with herself, she would have stepped back. Silver knew that some cats would harrass her and take advantage once they figured out she was blind. However, her ears started to flatten down just a tad. It was just a warning to let him know not to get too close. If they hadn;t been talking and silver hadn't come to the conclusion that he was nice, she would have already tried to claw him.
I can't help but notice, and I have to ask this, I'm sorry. Are you blind? Silver winced. However, in full pride of who she was, she striaghtened her back to make herself taller where she sat. Her ears focsed on Jarrah once more. So what if I am? Being blind just means I can't see. I am no differnt then a cat whose eyes are shut. Silver replied a little dignatly and just a tad hostile.
Silver quikly dropped the hostility and sniffed the air. It as a bit chillier then it had been before. The wind was harder and it brought a smell. It smells like rain Silver said to mostly just herself.

No! I didn't mean it that way, I swear! He paused there, trying to think of something to brighten the disturbed femme. I actually think that's cool, I've never known iny blind cats, so your my first. They are any different from regular cats, your right, they're unique, in their own special way. He leaned forward and lapped at the fae's ear, only once, for, he saw the she-cat dislike his closeness. He stepped back a few paces, unsure of what Silver would do next.
Her next words surprised him. It smells like rain. Was she trying to distract herelf? Jarrah hoped so, he hated seeing cats sad and embarrased about something. But Silver didn't seem embarrased about her blindness, she stuck up for it, which is what Jarrah would have told her to do if she had been embarrased.
Yeah, it does. Maybe we should find some shelter. He thought about what he had just said. He had made it sound like they would be stuck together while the rain poured down, and he didn';t know if the fae would like that. O-or... I mean I could just return to my old den. He started turning towards the place he had settled down into for this month, and he didn't stop himself to see what the she-cat was going to say. Silver had seemed like a fun and playful she-cat, but really she had just been thinking of her past, and trying to find something to distract her. Jarrah shrugged to himself, and was almost glad he hadn't flurted around her like his normal self.

They are any different from regular cats, your right, they're unique, in their own special[/i] Silver relaxed. He really was a nice cat. She almost grinned. Her first night in the the woods and she already made a semi-friend. The thaught just warmed her a little. However, the forcast of rain worried her.
Silver was surprised when Jarrah's scent jerked forward. She felt something against her ear and she stiffened. then Jarrah had backed up again.
Yeah, it does. Maybe we should find some shelter. O-or... I mean I could just return to my old den.[/i] Silver listened to Jarrah turning to leave and stood up. She begain to feel a little tug of fear on her mind. She didn't know anything about the forest or its suroundings. She streatched her legs out that were starting to cramp. Then a thaught flickred in her mind. I'm pretty sure I smelt and heard chickens when I came here. This is a farm so maybe we could find shelter there. Silver clled out to Jarrah, not wanting to be left behind.
Silver's ears strained for any sound from Jarrah, her nose following his scent that was going further. If he left her, she would follow his scent.
