I was walking, among the shadows... The ebony femme made her way down the curvy street, her paws tired of walking so far. The scent of fish lay fresh in the air, making her craving for food even worse. She stalked forward, stomach low to the ground, and nose in the air. Her ears aimed towards a group of humans she'd overheard a few pawsteps away, they were talking about hwo much they hated cats creeping in there stealing all of thier food. They spoke about they she put food poisoning, to keep them away.
But Amber didn't care, she continued her hunt. Under tables, behind curtans, behind pots she went, only the tip of her banner visible at times. The speed her bodice contained was invincible. She pelted through the shop, not being seen by any of the fellow humans. She stopped in her tracks. A man buying his food had a dog on a leash, a big dog at that. It had long droopy ears, almost touching the ground. It had bags under its eyes, making them look tired and red.
The femme inched forward, desperately trying to stay out of view from the hound. Then it hit her, the smell she had wondered in here for; fish. Her ears pricked up, and her tongue swiped over lips hungrily. Her orbs looked around for a safe passage. Luckiy the dog had been looking the opposite way as she made a dart to the next closest table. She let out a sigh of releif, and continued her walk.
The tiny fish were laying on a table, right next to a giant machine that holds food in it. There was no one in sight, so the fae made the long run. Right when she thought nothing would go wrong, everything did. A human walked by, shreiking as she did so. The girl ran over to the closest man, pointing at the black stray, with fear and hatred in her eyes. The man stormed over to Amber with a mean glare on his face.
Amber ran for her life. She had heard that the men here were mean, and wouldn't stop themselves from hurting any pest; this scared her. Her paws scampered on the wood floors, making marks on it with her unsheathed claws. Frantically she dashed under a low table, getting as close to the wall as she could. The smell of the tuna was getting closer, for, she was right next to the giant cooler.
The man was getting closer, she could feel it. The fur on her back was rising, and her bodice got stiff. The banner she owned all of a sudden froze, and she didn't make a sound. She hoped that the mad man hadn't seen where she had gone, and was going the wrong way. But most of all, she wished that there was someone here to save her.
...when something hit me.

Violet stalked out of the dump and towards the market, maybe she would see the friendly shopkeeper again. Hoping she would, she stalked on through the crowds. An unfamiliar scent filled her nostrils. Violet could tell it was the scent of a cat, but one that she had never met before. She swallowed the air, it seemed to be the scent of she-cat. The scent came closer and closer. Looking up in front of her, she could see the source of the smell. A black femme weaved in and out through tables and around stalls. Craning her neck to see where the femme had turned, she followed the femme, close behind in pursuit. Watching with awe, Violet saw the femme, slipped into a store and paused for a moment. Violet took her chance, and almost caught up completely. But, the femme was fast and darted behind a shelf. Why was the femme sneaking around here?Just then, the sweet scent of fish filled Violet mouth, making it water. So that was what the femme was after. Low to the ground, Violet snuck behind the shelf hiding the femme from the humans. "Hi" Violet whispered "I'll help you get the fish" putting a mischievous grin on her face, Violet followed her in a mad dash towards the food storer. Dodging, the feet of a young girl, Violet looked up in terror, just in time to see a mean man stomping towards them. Without hesitation, Violet shot out of the store and into the vast collection of stalls, maybe the nice shopkeeper would let them hide. They were fast, but so was the mean man. Jumping for cover behind a sac of rice, she signaled to the other cat to follow. OOC:FINALY!!!

[ooc: sweet! ok, my turn.] Hello, little one...
Amber's ebony bodice darted forward, aiming for the rice sacks. Hey optics were filled with fear and frustration, but she focused on reaching the rice. The feet of the man were right on his trail, almost stepping on her precious banner. Right as the mean man jumped for her, she dove forward, out of reach.
Her mouth was open with a slight pant, and the claws were outstretched wide across all of her paws. She relaxed soon enought though, and she turned her gaze the fae beside her. She dipped her head slightly, nodding her respect. Hello, thank you for your help. I dont know what I would have done, Her voice was soft, like a kittens mew. She blinked slowly, appreciating the she-cat's help.
There was plenty of noise around them with all the frightened people, and young children running around. The male was still searching for them, determined now to get them out of the restuarant.
Amber pulled her banner closer to her body now, adjusting her orbs to the different light in the area. The sun which was slowly setting with sending beams of light all through the market, warming the femme's fur. The black cat purred in delight, but also because the silence was becoming akward. I'm Amber Nightfall, by the way. I dont beleive we've met before, who would you be?
As she waited for the other femme to reply, she slowly licked herself clean. The white dust clearly showing upon her dark pelt. Her tongue flickered out onto her paw, which then made its way over her head. Her head turned sideways, licking her shoulders, and soon enough, her back. Amber's pelt was already looking cleaner, and she let herself focus on the guest for the rest of the time. Her golden eyes looked bright amber with the red and orange of the sun shining in it. What might your name be?

Panting for breath, Violet let out a large yawn, filling her mouth with the scent of fish. If only they had gotten it, well, oh well, no point crying over spilled milk. You're very welcome Violet mused with a tint of mischief in her voice. But, nothing could take away that hint of mischief, not even a mad man. Well, maybe, but no. Streaming light blasted in through the window, sending a warm wave through Violet.
Oh, sorry, I usually don't forget to introduce myself, my name's Violet Violet giggled, But you could probably tell because of my eyes Battin her eyes, she giggled some more. The sun set behind a large wall, leaving the air ominously dark. Maybe if they wanted to sleep, they should go somewhere farther away from Mr. McMadman. Pushing her tired muscles, she stood up. "Come on Amber, we should go farther away to sleep" Ha, Violet had just realized something both of their names were the colour of their eyes. WOW! That was quite coincidental. Guess what Amber?She giggled Both of our names are colours!
Preparing to leap out into the open and run farther away, Violet balanced her weight on her back legs, ready to shoot out like a spring. 3...,2..........1! Shooting out of cover Violet pounded through the market looking for a safer place to sleep. Sharply turning, Violet poked her head underneath a table cloth, then pushed herself completely in.
Panting for air with shallow breaths, Violet lay down. They were safe to sleep, and after a long day, Violet didn't even hesitate before closing her eyes and sinking into an essence of sleep.

Waiting for the sun to fall With you
The black femme had a weird yet cute smile on her face as the two she-cats sat and talk. But Violet was right, this wasn't the safest placce to sleep. So Amber followed her gaze to the tablecloth, and readied her haunches to make the run. She laughed a bit two, at how silly Violet was. And then, at something, she probably never would have realized. You're right! She gigled a tiny bit. Both of our eyes are the color of our names, how cool is that!
She darted after the ginger and white cat, her paws moving as fast as lightning. She skipped aside a young baby and his mother as they walked by. But soon enough, she reached her destination. As Amber stopped, she took a huge breath, and lay down beside Violet. The black cat curled up comfortably, getting ready for her sleep mode to take over.
For some reason she didn't feel very tired, only on the outside. But on the inside she felt as if she needed to eat something, and soon. Amber shook her head, there was no way she could get the fish. Ah, but maybe something easier. She waited for her friend to fall into a deep sleep, before she inched herself away.
Once she was standing on all four paws, she stretched and readied herself yet again to run. When she saw no one in sight, she darted across, even slyer than before, by staying along the wall and down low. Yes! She whispered to herself, for, she had made it across with no trouble.
The golden orbs that lay inside Amber's mask spotted a shrimp cocktail across the room. Her tongue snapped across her lips, and she narrowed her eyes. As her paws darted around, banner keeping her balanced, and optics looking for danger, her mind wasn't doing its job. The only ting on her mind at the time was the shrimp, and she didn't see a cook come her way.
Just in time, before her tail got wacked with a broom, she darted behind a customer, and up onto the table. She bent her head, mouth open and ready to grab a couple shrimps. But instead she got wacked right in the face with the wooden broom. Amber was furius. She put all of her weight into her back legs, and pushed off strait to the guys neck.
He writhed in pain as Amber stroked her claws along his chest, while ripping up his collared shirt with her fangs. Soon enough Amber got thrown off, but instead of the man screaming and hitting her, he stumbled away. No other person in sight dared to come close to the black fae, so she walked peacefully over to the food che craved.
She bent her head down once again, grabbing two shrimps while also making room for a third. Once she had about three and a half in her mouth, she made her way back to the table Violet was sleeping under. She munched on two of the shrimp, and lay the other one and a half next to her friend.
Now she was satisfied. After licking her lips clean, she cuddled up on her side. Her tail went strait over her muzzle, and her golden optics closed. While she slept, she didn't dream, or at least she didn't remember if she did. Amber just relaxed and stayed asleep for a long while, waiting for the sun to fall and rise once again, signaling the next day.
Sitting by the rising sun With you

A small wind woke Violet, sending shivers through her body. Where was she? She had been, oh yes, the table, and Amber! Relieved that he wasn't alone, she noticed one and a half pieces of shrimp in front of her. Violet trotted a few steps to Amber and nudged her sleeping friend awake. "Cockadoodle-doo!" she whispered gently in her ear. "How'j ya sleep last night, oh and, thanks for the shrimp" She trotted back over to the shrimp and gobbled them up in an instant, but savoured the taste of them in her mouth.
Looking down at her belly, the thought engulfed her. I'm pregnant, or at least I think so. This, she did not need to tell amber, she could just imagine it. "Hey, I'm pregnant, " yeah, nice way to start a conversation. She needed to talk to Rowan. Hm...... That night she was meeting by the chicken coop, for the first time as mates.... Oooh, Violet was sooo excited.
"Hey, I need to leave sometime today, I need to travel far to meet my mate. " She hoped that Amber would understand that it was nothing personal, it was just a planned, "date" you might want to call it. Without hesitation she looked at Amber and smiled. "The least I can do is return the favour" Sneaking nimbly out of the table cloth, Violet crawled low to the ground and snuck behind the shelf.
The blue tiled floors of the shop were rather empty and, Violet knew how easy this would be, all she had to do was go and steal what she wanted, she shop wasn't open yet, and therefore no evil and annoying humans to get in her way. Trotting over to the counter, she grabbed a sandwich and tossed it back behind the shelf, grabbing another and another, she kept tossing them behind the shelf. When there finally were none left, she returned to behind the shelf, and herded them towards the table.
Ding ding!
Ahhh! The man was in the store now, speeding up her pace, she stuffed the sandwiches under the table and dived under. Violet took a sandwich between her paws and peeled away the two slices of bread and popped the ham slice in her mouth. Mmmmmm.... Nudging a pile over the Amber, she took another sandwich and got the meat out, popping it out into her mouth again. "There we go, I don't think we'll be need to steal anything else" A smile grew across Violet's face.
"Come on, let's explore" Violet remembered how things ended up last time, but still, she would be more cautious this time, and think through her plans... or maybe, not make any plans this time. Yes, that would probably be best.

One word.
The black fae awoke slowly, her legs sprawling out, stretching her muscles. Her mouth opened wide to let out a yawn, and she blinked her eyes slowly. The whisper of her friends voice reminded her where she was, and the smell of fish still hang in the air. She watched as Violet gobbling down the shrimp, and then disapeared behind the tablecloth.
Amber stood clueless in their sleeping area, waiting for the arival of the hyper she-cat. She lifted her paw up to wash it, and she wiped it over her face. The warm tongue rasped over her neck, smoothing the ruffled fur. She did the same on both sides, and then finished off with her banner. The femme was at least more awake now, and she wasn't thinking about going back to sleep.
As Violet returned, a big group of wind rushed past her, almost knocking her fragile body down. The ham that her friend had returned with smelled delicious, perfect for the first meal of the day. Her tongue licked over her lips before she dug in. It tasted good. Salty, yet full of protein.
Amber finished her meal as soon as Violet did, flicking away the other parts of the sandwhich. She watched as the white and ginger femme stalked away, looking for some trouble to fall into. Her paws told her to follow, so she did so, at least it was some moving around. She stayed low to the ground, and right behind Violet, keeping on guard.
She had never really been much of a morning cat. She liked to sleep during the day, more of a nocturnal act going on most the time. She almost slapped herself across the face to make herself stay up, but the food started proccessing, giving her energy. Amber was glad she no longer needed to slap herself. She thought it would hurt and maybe even look a bit silly.
Blah.

There were two cats in a tunnel
Making sure that Amber was behind her, Violet darted underneath the marble archway to the dump. The putrid aroma of garbage filled Violets scents. Oohhh!!! Let's play hide and go seek. You're it! Count to 10 Rushing around a corner, Violet scanned the dump in search of a place to find. Hmm... A small tunnel broke through a heap of garbage. Without hesitation, Violet leaped in, wriggling through the narrow sides. The tunnel spread into a large cave, floored with actual dirt. It seemed as if someone had dug out the garbage. Surely Amber could never find her here.
Settling down for a while, Violet noticed two other tunnels. Deciding to be adventurous, Violet wriggled her small shape through the tunnel on the right, finding that it was rather skinny. A sharp drop left Violet skidding down, almost like a slide. suddenly the tunnel walls turned from garbage, to dirt. Travel tunnels! thought Violet, wow! Squishing herself to turn around, she nimbly ran through the tunnels, trying to find Amber. Once in the cave, Violet let out a squeal. Amber, come over here, it's so cool waiting for Amber, Violet dove into the right tunnel again.
Again, the drop surprised her and skidded down it. Landing at the bottom with a thud, Violet continued the less steep down, and recognized the dirt tunnel.I wonder where it leads Violet wondered out loud. Well, there's only one way to find out! leaping through the tunnel with a powerful leap, Violet squeezed through, just barely. With a smile, the tunnel began to climb a steep up, bringing light to Violets face. We made it... Wherever it is! With one last jump, Violet found herself by Thorton Stream, out of what appeared to be a rabbit hole
The only word that Violet could suppress was WOW. Imagine how hard it would be to make those tunnels. tunnels thought Violet, there was anther tunnel that they hadn't explored. Amber, let's go check out the other tunnel. In a flash, Violet was back in the tunnel, this time going towards the dump instead of away. Immediately Violet skidded down the climb and found herself spitting dirt out of her mouth. After her mouth returned to normal, Violet gripped the feel of garbage underneath her paws, then also felt a steep up. Using the garbage for grip, Violet leaped up the hill and found herself panting on the on the other side.
Continuing the small way back to the cave, Violet felt the warmth beginning to fade. With a thud, Violet landed on the dirt floor of the cave. Now for the other tunnel. Shaking the dirt out of her orange and white pelt, Violet leaped into the other tunnel. This tunnel was much wider than the other tunnel, Making it easier to run. Pushing herself harder, Violet noticed how even this tunnel w-
Splat!
A steep drop sent Violet landing on the hard earth. Leaping out forward in case Amber landed on top of her, Violet realized that they had reached dirt. A yowl of happiness arose in Violet's throat. They might be close! A sudden image before Violet's eyes silenced her happiness. A large mound of hard dirt lay in front of them, it seemed like the tunnel had caved in. Putting her paws to work, she began loosening the dirt the scuffled it back behind Amber until a small hole lay at the top pf the mound, just big enough for a cat to go through. Squishing herself into a skinny cat, she just managed to fit through the hole and onto the other side.
Helping Amber by pulling her through Violet continued on the never ending tunnels. It seemed to be taking them far away from Nenbrook, and everything she loved, but if she could go, she go back just as easily. A sudden boredom dropped into Violet. ooh, lets play I spy! I spy with my little eye, something that is..... white... and orange she said, glancing at her tail for confirmation.
The tunnels were so warm, Violet felt herself breaking out in a sweat. But before long, the tunnels were slowly cooling down, We must be slowly reaching the surface. I think that we're almost there She hoped that she was right. A wondering thought that she had been unconsciously thinking returned to her. Who had made these tunnels, it would have had to be an animal with good claws for digging. It obviously was not a cat, judging on how long it took for us to make that small hole. But maybe, just maybe it was multiple animals. A lot of.... badgers? No, the tunnel was too small.
Hmm... Would humans have made these tunnels. I doubt it, humans don't like to go anywhere even considerably close to garbage... Hmm...What about rabbits! They were good diggers, the other end of the other tunnel even looked like it was a rabbit hole. But, it obviously wasn't just on rabbit, it was probably a whole family, maybe even more. But why had they made them. Maybe it was to get to an amazing place that was hard to get to. But, I'll have to wait until I see where this tunnel leads to first.
But Violet wanted to know if she was right with her theory about the rabbits. Why did I never think of it she though, sniffing the air. A very stale scent of Rabbit wisped into her mouth. Amber! she exclaimed happily This tunnel was made from rabbits! A joy filled Violet's voice. She had figured it out... well she had figured part of it out at least.
This tunnel was getting quite boring. At first, Violet was enjoying the whole, adventurous part to her journey... Hmm.... Violet wanted to play a game but the number of games that could be played while in a small tunnel that only fit one cat at a time was kinda restricted. Violet had to admit. Hmm... Let's play a game where we ask each other question to know each other better hmmm.... Violet thought for a moment. Have you ever met someone who you despise? Violet asked, knowing not to ask any questions that were to personal to start. Violet listened carefully to Amber's answer.
The game continued on for a while until Violet... again.... got bored. Violet decided that she could just be free down here and be silly.
Taking a breath, she started to sing.
There were two cats in a tunnel Then they... fell down a funnel And into a land of.... go-ooold!
There were.... gold rubber duckies Gooooooooold....... tuckies? And no one..... grew old!
But then they had to go home And traveled... with a big gnome Into the land of..... free meat!
But they.. missed the land of gold .....Where no one grew old So they went back and they were...... happy-y-yyyyyy!
Violet took a breath and bowed. Thank you very much she said with an accent. Your turn! she said to Amber, not knowing what to expect from her.
~~~~~~
They were still in the tunnel. The boring... old... tunnel. It had been quite a while since Violet had burst out into song, but she was still whispering song under her breath.
Twinkle twinkle little cat I do not think that you're fat Up inside the garbage den Below the sky's lar-
The tunnel! It was getting brighter! We're almost there! Pushing with the last of her energy she bounded up the tunnel and emerged out of another rabbit hole. Violet stopped herself from bursting out into another song, I think Amber's getting tired of it. Fresh air burst into Violet. This place is beautiful. Green slopes rose upward from where they were standing. A stream fell from the slope into the forest with a gurgling sound. That must be Thorton stream! She thought.
Come on, let's go explore Violet started up the slope, a small dirt cave caught Violets attention, or was it a tunnel, no, Violet, had had enough tunnels for another life time. She slipped herself inside the cave. A calming feeling soothed her. Let's have a cat nap she told Amber, not waiting for an answer before slipping into the grip of sleep... no... cat nap.
Then they... fell down a funnel
[Damn! That took forever to read!] So, I guess we're friends.
Amber followed her friend outside, and at the thought of a game, she brightened. She loved games! As Violet darted away, she looked around, then started counting. Before she could even reach 5, heard her name being called from somewhere echoy. She cocked her head to the side, she didn't know of any caves around here. She blinked open her optics, and followed the voice. Her head peared around a pile of carrion, and to a small tunnel.
She gasped, how cool was that! The black femme raced forward, and stepped quietly into the tunnel, forgetting all about the hide-and-seek game. She searched for the blotched she-cat, and finally spotted her tail, just rounding a corner. Amber's paws were hard on the ground as she chased after her. She slowed once she saw her a couple fox-lengths in front of her.
Her gaze came off of Violet, and started peeking around the tunnels. There were so many, who and what had the time to make this!? She thought to herself. The walls were smooth, and it seemed as if her paws kept falling the place of another paw print. The ceiliing even seemed smooth, although not nearly as nice as the walls or floor. Amber looked into a small tunnel they passed, seeing nothing but dirt and little bits of garbage.
As she was walked, a water drop hit her right on the head, making her cringe. She wrinkled her nose, then shook her head furousiously. Another dripped, and then another, they must be under neath a stream! She pawed at her face, rubbing it back to normal. The water stopped soon enough, and Amber was glad. Except that now it was getting fairly stuffy and hot. Her mouth opened and her tongue lolled out in a pant.
She heard Violet's voice, and that brought her back to the world. She curved around a wall, into a different, smaller tunnel. This tunnel seemed the same as the others, dirt and garbage, fairly small and hot. But she continued on, head held high. Her paws were starting to get sore from all the walking they had done, but she guessed that this was just the begining.
Another game! Amber thought as Violet brought up the idea of playing "I Spy". She flickered her ears, then narrowed her eyes, looked for something ginger and white in the cave. It seemed that it could only be her, or maybe Amber's eyes... So she started naming random parts of them. Your head? When the answer replied back as negitive, she guessed again. Paws? Again wrong. Ummm.... my eyes? Amber giggled at the sound of it, she almost gave up, when she realized a small twitched object. Your tail! Her bodice shook with delight at the smile her friend gave her for being correct.
They walked in silence for awhile, just looked around, smelling for anything that could help them. Once Amber thought she could smell snother, a rodent maybe... She shook her head, there was no way a anything would be down here, they would have seen it already. She thought she siriously was about to collaspe until she spotted the bright yellow in front of her. Violet's voice made her feel better, too.
"This tunnel was made from rabbits!" The voice of Violet echoed in her mind once she spoke. But she was right! Now she realized why there was the smell of rodents, and such small holes. Speaking of small holes, she held her breath, sucking all the air out of her body, and pushed herself through a tiny hole. When she imerged, she was thinking about the answer to her freinds question. N-no, I guess not. She turned her head to the side, she didn't think she ever hated someone that much.
She was surprised from the sudden singing by her blotched friend. The lyrics were silly and quickly made up. The two femmes giggled together, it was so silly. Once Violet was finished, it would be Amber's turn, so she started thinking about some lyrics. Her voice ended, so she started, her voice squeaky at first. She didn't really know what the song was about, she was just singing, rhyming smoothly. Maybe even using some of Violet's words.
There was a nice friend She was very good making up a trend Walk in caves she says Then run all the way through to the last end
They did all thier days Only to be cool and get their nice pays They soon got tired They returned home to eat off there small trays
She laughed at how silly all there songs were. She listened quietly to the fae's next song, almost humming along with it. She stopped after awhile, and sighed slowly. When Violet screeched about almost being there, she perked up. Her paws were so sore, and her heart was so tired, but there was just enough energy left to run the last coarse.
When they stepped out of the tunnels, Amber was surprised at how bright outside it was. But even more surprising was where they were. There were wills and beautiful plains surounding them, with some nice tall grass in some areas. The stream waterfalling from the from the small forest was relaxing, and made her even more tired. She was delighted when Violet brought up the idea of a cat nap, and Amber was o-so pleased to forfill her wish. She curled up into a tight ball, the water the last sound filling her ears.
No. Best friends!
