Light me like you L O V E me.
The rain fell in a soft mist.
Indigo's lip curled in amusement. Was that not such a cliche way to describe a day like this? Thin, drizzling rain falling softly into the pumpkin patch and throwing the world around her into a plane of mist and fog. She grinned smugly. There. That was better. Much better. She'd been sitting there since morning, almost unmoving. Her fur was soaked by now - even with the lightness and finesse of the rain that fell around - and on - her. Time had a way of doing that. She glanced up, raindrops sliding down her forehead to the base of her ears. Clouds obscured her vision of the sun. What time was it? Impossible to tell. She stuck her tongue out at the skies above in rebellion. A soft giggle broke the silence that had settled like a cage around her. Aha. Free at last.
She took a step forward, wincing as pins and needles ran up her paw in protest at being awoken form sleep. Too bad. She took other steps slowly, grimacing at the protest from her other limbs. She rolled her eyes, biting her tongue to prevent herself from crying out. That would be too weird. And attract attention. Within a few moments the pain was gone and she sped up, running through the tendrils of green vine and laughing quietly to herself, not caring if the world or anyone in it thought her insane or not. Let them judged her - she who cared nought for others’ judgments. She smirked at the thought. A suiting description - proverb - whatever it was.
She stopped after a short while, glancing around. It seemed to her that she was in the exact center of the field of soon-to-be-pumpkins. Then again, that had been her thought location for the entire morning as well. She frowned, pursing her lips ever so slightly. It was the fog, she decided. She could only see a certain distance in every direction so she had no way of knowing where she was until she ultimately came to the edge of the field. She shrugged and lay down, shivering happily as the wet drops of dew clung to her fur. So what? She was already soaked through the bone. Plus, a little bit of water never killed anyone.
Except for, you know, those who drowned.
Yet another flaw in an ancient proverb. Or was it the first? Her time in the patch had blurred slightly - aided perhaps by the blurry rain? She couldn’t remember if she had contradicted another that day or not? In her history, yes. She settled with that. Her eyes closed softly and she sent out her other senses. When you stopped relying on sight, only then did you become aware of the powers of your other senses. Wet. She could feel the individual drops of dew clinging to her fur - which in turn clung damply to her body. The ground was soft beneath her - soft and moist - and she could feel two tendrils of pumpkin vine she was lying on. She raised her head slightly without opening her eyes. The air smelt fresh, crisp. Much nicer than in the stuffy downtowns of the human world. Free of smog and smoke and dirt. She parted her lips. It tasted fresh too. She could taste the dampness - the humidity - of the air. She smelled earth too, she realized as an afterthought. Earth and plant life - all around her.
That left but one sense. Hearing. She froze all movement. Silence. That was the first thing she heard - foreboding and increasing all around her. No, you couldn’t hear silence. All it was was the lack of noise. But there was noise, if you dug hard enough. Chirping - birds and bugs close and far. The soft rumble of a distant motorcar. She smiled. There she was. Her senses worked pretty darn well after all. She opened her eyes, blinking against the brightness of a grey day against the darkness of closed eyes. Funny how closing your eyes had a way of brightening your world and making you see it in a whole new light - without actually seeing.
Though her mood had been melancholic upon arrival, Indigo found herself re-thinking her previous state of mind. The whole rainy days blues thing. Perhaps rainy days weren’t so bad after all. It had provided her with an opportunity to think. To philosophize as she had been doing quite often recently. She smiled. Now, she had contradicted two proverbs. She smirked.
You know it's not a L I E.

Like a sudden noise...
Violet padded through the soft mud, wet and sticky because of the rain. After meeting the tom in the dump, Violet's mood had fell to the ground like a deadweight. But the rain had cleansed her soul, and she felt as if she could fly. But maybe that was because of meeting Rowan. He was such an amazing cat. She saw him in her mind, his deep green eyes, staring right into her. But, sadly, apparently he was taken by.... "Dapple". Well, she at least must be very happy to be with Rowan. She must be so sad though, to be so close... And then.... seperated. Violet had never really held out a relationship. The only one was with her parents.
Her parents. Their memories sunk deeper into her heart. They had always been there. But, not now. Her father, Rowan.... Rowan! Now she knew why she had a sudden attachment to Rowan. She just felt so happy, it was as if, Rowan made her feelings for her father grow. Even through what he had done to her. But, a worried thought passed through her mind. What if Rowan abandoned her, or told her to leave. Like her father.
Her mother, that had been her main source of self esteem, she had been violet's wisdom. Until, they were seperated. She felt a stab in her heart, like the memory was replaying in her life. She needed to meet her family again. Just know that they were fine. But, how? It seemed like she wasn't meant to be with her family. Being seperated from her family. She would never let it happen again. She needed to find someone. Alone just felt so wrong in Violet's heart. She could never be happy when she was alone. Unless it was raining.
But now, even the rain could'nt help her to feel better. She still felt terrible. She felt black hearted for not going after her mother after her mother had been taken to the humane society. She remembered how she tried un successfully to stop her from being taken away.
The rain poured down, just like today. She felt younger. And she knew she was in her memory. Her owners. Were inside, trying to stuff her mother into a small cardboard box. She felt herself running towards it, trying to get her moter out, but the child kicked her away. She lay against the wall for a moent before she regained her balance. She ran towards him and scratched the side of his arm. Her anger was boiling over. He wailed. What had she done? That wasn't like her. She never did anything to her humans. She cowered in the corner as her humans yelled at her. When her heart was at peace she ran outside to see the car pulling out of the lane with her mother. She raced for the car as it sped up down the road. She chased it around the corner into a busy intersection until she lost sight of it. She felt as if her heart had disappeared. Her mother, her only link to someone, had gone. It felt like there wasn't any reason for living.
She didn't want to go back. Back to a place where no one cared about her.
Her memory concluded and she re entered reality. She could smell another cat somewhere near her. She looked around. An orange tabby scuttled behind a pumpkin. Violet continued walking towards the cat, not wanting to make a big deal of anything. When she cam closer to the cat. She waited, wanting the other cat to strike up the conversation first. But, Violet decided against it and began to talk herself.
"Hi, my names violet. I just got here a few days ago. I'm kind of not feeling at my best today. Sorry. Do you want to go hunt?" Violet felt down, she knew that her sentences didn't flow, making it very likely that this cat felt slightly uncomfortable around her. She waited shyly for a response, looking down at her paws. She smiled, trying to lighten up the mood. She hoped that this cat would be nice. And hopefully wouldn't abandon her like Rose. But that wasn't Rose's fault, thought Vi, she seemed a bit uncomfortable around males. Violet should of been more supportive. But, at the time, she felt torn between Rowan and Rose. She didn't know if she had done the right thing or not.
She hoped that Rose wasn't mad at her. She hated having cats be upset at her. She tried to study the cat's body language, but this cat seemed to be hiding it. She tried her best to act natural.
In a silent room.

Gasping for air Drowning
Indigo sighed softly, enjoying how the wind played with the noise as it twirled it off to elsewhere. She managed a small smile. There was nothing wrong with rainy days, she had decided. Rainy days were beautiful, lovely things. The sky was crying and so people tended to assume they should be miserable as well. But whose to say the tears weren't those of happiness? Indigo smirked and laughed, a soft, chirping sound. Grinning, she scampered through the pumpking leaves, lifting her head up proudly to feel the refreshing mist of the air on her face.
"Hi, my names violet. I just got here a few days ago. I'm kind of not feeling at my best today. Sorry. Do you want to go hunt?"
A voice sounded out from behind her and startled Indigo into wheeling around and nearly tripping over her paws. She hadn't heard anyone else's voice at all that day - any noise besides herself except for during her little senses exercise. She breathed in and out slowly. In through the nose, out through the mouth, she reminded herself before plastering a smile on her face and leaping over to join the other cat who had spoken. Violet, as she had called herself. The she-cat was fairly young - younger than herself it appeared but not by that much. Her fur was short, orange and white. Something about her was familiar. Indigo frowned slightly. Had she met this cat before? No, she didn't think so. She hadn't met all that many cats after all.
Unless she had been at the humane society at the same time as Indigo. But no, Indigo hadn't associated with any of the cats there. The only cats she knew from her houseet life were her mother and siblings. And since she became a stray... Stellar, obviously. Er wait... there were two she-cats before him - one was a kitten. Brook and.... Moon! After Stellar there was Sky... Tamar and Storm... Rose... Ash... That was it. No, she most definately didn't know this Violet though it was sad that she - a socialite if you will - could list of all the cats she'd ever met in her head. All the significant ones at least. Maybe she had seen Violet once before but never really carried on much after a fleeting conversation?
She pushed these thoughts to the back of her mind. She could also just ask. Instead of, you know, standing there like some mute moron. She blushed. "Sorry about that. I'm Indigo." She paused. "Er... Wintertrap. That's Indigo Wintertrap." She laughed sioftly. "This might sound weird but... do I know you from somewhere, Violet? I could almost swear I'd seen you before."
In thoughts.

Vi could see how she had startled the cat and apoligized. She hoped that this cat would at least be as nice as Rose. But, she seemed familiar, it seemed, as crazy as it sounded.... but as if Violet knew her. Violet sighed. It was impossible, there was no way that she knew this cat. Violet took a deep breath, and it seemed like the other cat was too. It seemed like the other cat was deep among thoughts.
Violet's jaw dropped as she heard the she cat's name.....Indigo? .....Wintertrap......Wait.... ....no ....... that would mean that they were sisters.
Violet just had to make sure. "Indigo Wintertrap.... as in daughter of Star Honeysuckle.." Violet held her breath.... She had no idea how to tell this cat.. "Um..... I know that this will probably sound weird but..... WE ARE HALF SISTERS!" Violet took a deep breath. "I've ALWAYS wanted an older sister to talk to and look up to. I've never had an actual sister..... Have you... Oh my god! I feel SO happy right now! I found my half sister. My mom kept telling me about you.... but I never thought that I'd find you. Have you talked to mom lately? Probably not, but thats ok! We are going to be so close..... Yeah, um.... can I ask you a question..... About... male cats? See, I met for the first time this cat, and I really like him..... but I ..... Don't know what I should do?" Violet giggled.

Indigo's eyes darkened as iolet asked about her mother. What? "How do you know-" she began to ask suspiciously when the she-cat beat her to the punch. "Um..... I know that this will probably sound weird but....." Indigo nodded as if to say 'Go on, now.' She was a little bit weirded out, to be honest. How did Violet know her mother? Maybe she had met her. It wouldn't be too abnormal for Star to boast about her children - even to name them. Her fur settled down. Of course. This was perfectly normal.
"WE ARE HALF SISTERS!"
And she jumped right back up.
"What?" she screeched in disbelief. She blushed, not wanting to be rude but... seriously? Sisters? She blinked. Was this real or a product of her imagination on a rainy day. "Is this a dream?" she asked, eyes narrowed. But Violet seemed quite content to ramble on about how she'd always wanted a sister. She was so energetic and excitable. Just like me. The thought spooked Indigo. Were they really sisters? Then it hit her. Star. Violet looked like her mother - that's why Indigo had found her to be familiar. She shook her head, confused. But -
She blinked as Violet started talking about some tom cat. Well then. She let out a disbelieving laugh. She could either argue with Violet and not believe it or take it as truth. Violet knew her mom's - their mom's - name and she even looked like Star. Plus she acted just like Indigo. Genetics? Indigo blinked. "Slow down," she managed with a laugh, though she couldn't quell the spark of excitement in her own heart. Was it really true?
She had a sister?
She laughed. "I never had a sister either," she confessed. "I must admit you've surprised me but -" she glanced quizzically at Violet. "I think I belive you." She grinned. "About this guy.... Tell me more!" This day was turning out to be extremely bizzare and Indigo found hersel unable to believe that she had accepted something so huge so fast and was past it. It was Violet. The other she-cat was already moved on and so excited - she couldn't bring herself to try and find out more. She'd think this all over later.

......... Violet felt slightly offended. "What?" Did this cat not like her at all? Violet hoped that Indigo would turn out to be an awesome sister, but Violet couldn't be to sure now. Trying to make the best of it, Vi tried to show her sense of humor. Walking over the Indigo, she lightly poked her in the paw. "Nope" Violet said as she shook her head, "Not a dream". A small giggle arose from her throat. She watched as Indigo processed the final thought in her head. Violet realised that it might of been a bit much too handle, but, she just had to tell her.
She nervously glanced up from her paws at her sister.
"Well, his name is Rowan. He's really nice and he's soooo Handsome. We have perfect chemistry. ' she paused, "What do you think?"
Vi interrupted her. " I've never really had a...a..a..a..a.. r-r-r.....lationship." She looked at Indigo. "So, i dont really know what I should do." It was right, she didn't know what to do. But, what if Rowan didn't like her, or he only liked her as a friend. What would happen then, would she be crushed? She didn't want to get her hopes up, or worship this guy. I mean, he was just an ordinary cat- right?
Surprise!

Indigo blinked as she was poked in the ribs. She gave a snort of comprehending amusement. "So I'm not about to wake up then?" she asked teasingly, But Violet seemed really...well...crushed, by her reaction and she felt a pang of sympathy for the younger she-cat. "Sorry, Violet. I was just surprised. I wasn't expecting to hear that," she laughed. Although, she realized, it wasn't that unlikely. Most cats did end up having more than one litter of kittens in their life and Nenbrook was a small town. She doubted her mother would have moved that far away so then Violet had ended up here too. It was a surprise, of course, but maybe not as improbable as she'd have thought.
She blinked as Violet continued. Rowan? Who was she talking- Ah yes. The guy she liked. Indigo resisted the urge to giggle. The whole thing felt a bit surreal. You meet your sister for the first time and talk about toms. She bit her lip. Indigo was startled as she was asked for her opinion. Already? "Well, I mean, I don't know him. But if you feel comfortable around him then that's definately a good sign," she offered with a grin. Violet seemed to find this really important - meeting her, Rowan, all of it. And so she would do her best to make it work out for her little sister. She gave a wry grin. Little sister. It felt funny, she'd never had a little sister before - let alone a sister or a little anything. Only big brothers.
Indigo pursed her lips. "Well, I'd say keep spending time with him and see what signals he seems to be throwing off. Is he shy? Flirty? If you're nervous you can always wait for him to make a move but then you risk letting nothing happen. You know, sometimes the biggest risk is not taking any risked," she said, laughing and winking at Violet. Alright so most of those old sayings were kinda cheesy but in this context, this one really did make sense. She felt slightly worried that she was advising Violet when she didn't have that big of a relationship history either but she was still determined to do a good job.
After all, common sense had to count for something.

Violet sat, listening to the words coming out of Indigo's mouth. "I- I- I don't know, I mean, he seems flirty, but that might just be how he is with everyone... And I do feel comfortable.. I mean.. Vi sighed, remembering the first time she met him.
She remembered staring into those deeeeep green eyes, and then just getting lost. He just made her all giggly. Scattering all of her worries away, and that was what she wanted to happen, she wanted to have a wonderful care-free life with Prince Charming. But, What-What if there was no such thing as prince charming? What if not everyone got their happily ever after? Well, at least, she felt she deserved one, and she also really felt that Indigo deserved one too.
A gust of wind blew Vi's mind back into it's rightful place. "Well, I- I- I think I love him, but what if I'm just getting overwhelmed in meeting a tom that I can be friends with..."
Friends. Maybe they were just meant to be friends. She really didn't want to lose a friendship over an imaginary fairytale. But this wasn't her. She wasn't some lovesick cat that daydreamed... Well, she didn't WANT to be one. She wanted to be a strong hearted, intelligent, beautiful, silly, cat... And one that had true friends. And then she felt as if she had just figured out the puzzle, put the missing piece in place, done the impossible, she knew they were to be just friends.
Not knowing how to tell her new sister, Violet bit her lip and smiled at Indigo, "Never mind that, lets go get something to eat"

Well I can honestly say I've been surprised
Indigo nodded knowledgeably. After all, who really needed experience? Common sense was just as useful, wasn't it? "The flirty type, eh?" she said, pursing her lips as if she was oh-so-wise. Although the giggle that came next might have disrupted that character. She raised one brow. "True, he could be the typical ladies-man as they might say. If he's really flirty then maybe that's just how he is..." She trailed off. She didn't want to say anything to make Violet change her mind. She didn't know this Rowan after all. But she did feel a sort of protectiveness towards Violet, her newly discovered little sister and she didn't want her to get hurt. Funny how she'd slid into the big sister role so fast. She loved it.
"In love?" Indigo's eyes widened slightly and she smiled. Maybe she hadn't taken this as seriously as it was. "Wow, Violet, that's... that's big..." Her little sister was in love! And I haven't even met anyone like that yet except maybe Stellar, she thought wryly. But no, she wasn't going to get jealous. This was about Violet and Rowan, not her. "Maybe you're overwhelmed," Indigo said kindly, "It happens a lot. Especially if he's the 'flirty type." She smiled. "Maybe you just need to talk to him."
Violet seemed lost in thought so Indigo said nothing. Let her work this out for herself. Indigo couldn't tell her anything. Especially when I'm not at all qualified for it, she thought with a roll of the eyes. So what? Just because she hadn't been in a relationship, didn't mean she couldn't advise others, right? She frowned. She was startled from her own thoughts by Violet's voice. Never mind? So... she'd worked things out? Indigo wanted to ask what she'd decided but held back. That was for Violet to know - if she wanted to share she would. Besides, even though they were sisters, they had just met. So she smiled back. "Sure!"
OOC: So we'll say that they go get something to eat, maybe scavenge something up
