Moon raced into the huge expanse of space, leaping up the huge pile of junk, spotting a huge, torn, old armchair. She leaped onto it, bouncing up and down in glee. The chair creaked, and at the last second she leaped off and the piece of furniture went tumbling down the side of the massive dump site. She grinned, looking around. The Dump had been fenced it, but that was no obstacle for an agile young cat like her. It was made up of random things, and old stuffy here, a rusty can there, Moon even spotted a cheap-looking refrigerator. Leaping on top of it, she announced to no one in particular, 'I'm the Queen of Nenbrook!' Laughing, she tumbled down to glomp a stuffed bear, nibbling on it's ear while looking for her future meal. She was hungry. Very hungry, even for her. So she surveyed the wide expanse of trash for some food. Spotting a piece of kentucky fried chicken, she began to run over when she saw the crow eying it. It dived; Moon wouldn't make it. But I guess she really wanted this chicken, and through her squinted violet eyes she spotted a rickety old skateboard and jumped on it, kicking it forward with her back paw. It flew down the side of the mound, flying up and down continually, and she held on tight, digging her claws into the rotted wood. The crow was almost there, and so was she. It would be a close call. After one last bump, she went flying through the air, landing right on top of the chicken and quickly taking it between her teeth and running out of the way. The crow tried to halt but instead crashed head-first into a big black bag of garbage. She burst out into mocking laughter before rolling down the side of the hill to meet her friend. Juniper had been following Moon closely as they made their way to the dump from the road that Juniper had been dumped unceremoniously next to by a female human who had “rescued” her from an evil male human. As they had walked, she had been thinking about all that Moon had told her about Nenbrook. About the farm with the dogs to the forest that Moon had caught that mouse from. She thought it would be fun to explore. And fun to eat more mice. Juniper started wondering about how you would go about catching one of those when she was snapped back to attention from her daydreaming when Moon shouted.
Juniper looked up at her new friend with her head turned to one side. She re-wound her memory and discovered that Moon had said “I’m the Queen of Nenbrook!” Juniper smiled… Before the smell from the dump they were in hit her. Her ears went back with disgust, but she could also smell some really delicious things laced in with the majority of smells… And those delicious things were edible… But Juniper wasn’t hungry after that mouse Moon had given her. So, she started to look around for food not for her to eat, but for Moon to eat.
She had been tearing open a black bag that she thought for sure would have food in it with her sharp teeth when she heard a weird sound… It kind of sounded like wood being sawed through to her(she had heard that noise when her first human family had decided to ‘renovate’ the garage). Instantly she turned her head to see, not the dump being renovated, but Moon on a piece of wood with wheels on it. Juniper watched for a few seconds before racing over to her, watching the show as she ran, completely forgetting whatever it was that she had smelled coming from the plastic bag.
Juniper watched as the crow made a dive for the chicken that she realized Moon was trying to get, watched Moon get it, and watched the Crow fly off. Juniper caught up to Moon after all this had happened, her hazel eyes lit up with excitement and adrenaline. ”That was amazing!” She exclaimed in a voice higher than usual from what she had just witnessed. ”That crow didn’t stand a chance!” She praised, and looked over at the piece of wood with wheels on it. ”What is that thing called?” She asked, then remembered…
It was a warm day not too long ago, before she had been given to the evil human. The human kit had put a shiny thing on her head and ran outside to see her friend. Juniper had jumped up to the window and pushed the blinds aside with her nose to watch the kit and make sure she was ok. The human kit was talking with her friend outside of the house, and the friend had given her the wood with wheels. She remembered that they had called it a ‘skateboard.’ The human kit had fallen, and Juniper had yowled in alarm, but the human kit laughed and got back on the skateboard.
”A skateboard,” Juniper answered her own question. ”My human kit went on one of them once. She fell a lot, but she looked like she was having a good time,” She said, talking to herself more than Moon at this point. Her human kit… No. What had she told herself earlier? She said that she was going to stop thinking about her first human family… It would only make her sad. Instead she was going to think about her new life and all of the opportunities she had. And she was going to think about delicious mice that she wanted to catch.

I'm a new soul I came to this strange world Hoping I could learn a bit about how to give and take.
Moon leaped over to where Juniper was running, and smiled showing off her canines. The piece of chicken stayed where she had left it.grinned at Junipers praise. 'I Know, I'm just awesome like that.' She told her, laughing. Then she turned back to where her chicken leg sat. It was just sitting there, looking delicious, and even though her tumble had earned her a scratch or two, gazing at the semi-fresh piece of meat, she decided it had been worth every one. Stupid crows.
'Now, where were we? She asked her meal, her eyes still dancing with mischief. Moon bent over and gobbled up all the meat, leaving it a few minutes later nothing but a gray-white bone. Not even, since she had chewed out all the marrow, too. Just a hollow piece of garbage. So she turned back to her friend, licking her lips and smiling. She took a step forward, and another, and then...
She fell. Yelping out loud, she hadn't even see it coming when she had fallen down through an old dirty sheet and right onto [thankfully] a mattress. Trouble was, she was underground.
Looking around, she realized she wasn't really underground, but under the dump. She had fallen through a hole and slid down a scraped-up plastic pool slide before landing at the bottom, beneath a full set of risers [the type high school kids sit on to watch football games in their school]. She shook herself, looking around at the heaps of garbage that sat layer by layer over top of the old benches. It was a large, hollow space, with an old cooler,a small pool with a soft current running through it, the dirty mattress, and a few black bags of trash, but other than that it was completely clear.
Trouble was, she had no clue how she would get out. It was almost fifteen feet to the ceiling where the hole she had fallen out of was. She was trapped. But before she realized this, she began to feel thrilled. She had just found her own little den, and in all places, a garbage dump!
'Juni, look what I found! It can be our new playhouse!' She yelled excitedly into the roof. She leaped off of the mattress, running over and pulling out of an old black back a near-shredded stuffed bear. Picking it up in her mouth, Moon tossed it onto the mattress, then followed it. She bounced on the springy bed, laughing and smiling as the teddy bear followed her into the air as she waited for the gray she-cat to follow.
She had no idea.
But since I came here Felt the joy and the fear Finding myself making every possible mistake. [ooc: Don't worry, I have a plan as to how they can get out of there XDD]

I’m chasing time. Looking for a beat. Juniper laughed, too. It had been a while since she had laughed, and it felt good. It felt fabulous. She sat down as Moon started to devour her hard-earned meal. She looked over at the skateboard and decided that she would try to do what Moon did. ”I’m going to see if I’m as awesome,” She said, and crouched down in the direction of the skateboard before getting a running start, and trying to jump on. She landed on the front part of it, though, and the back end of it went up, making her do a somersault forward into an old computer monitor.
She started laughing as she untangled herself from herself. She had been dumped into a weird position, and it wasn’t very comfy. She eventually stood up, and walked back to where she had left Moon, only to see that, well… She didn’t see Moon. Instantly puzzled, she looked around for her friend. She ran up the side of a tall mound of trash and, from this vantage point, looked for her friend. She saw a few humans wearing the same outfits trying to control the trash that was everywhere, but no sign of Moon.
She was relieved when she heard her voice. But that didn’t explain the mystery of where she was. ”Where are you?” She called out, and got to her paws, walking in the direction of where she thought she heard Moon’s voice coming from. She walked around a dead potted plant, and nearly slipped in some gooey stuff that had been on the surface of the trash. She had walked a ways away from where Moon had eaten the chicken leg, so it took a little while before she reached the place where Juniper thought that Moon had….
Juniper let out an alarmed yowl as she fell in the same spot that Moon had. She thankfully landed on her paws, though they buckled under her a little from her unprepared landing. She stood there for a few seconds, blinking, before realizing that this must be the place that Moon had vanished to. She looked around, spotting her friend. ”You could’ve warned me,” She said teasingly before jumping onto the mattress and kneading it with her claws. ”This place is great!” She exclaimed happily, and started to explore more thoroughly.

Moon grinned at Juniper, sticking out her tongue as if to say, Ha-ha, I found this place first, so I win! She leaped up onto an old wooden wardrobe and howled like a dog, ruining it by giggling in between. The wood creaked and she hastily leaped back down again just in time to watch it collapse into splinters on the ground. She burst out laughing again. It was warm in the hollow, so she sped over to the stream and lapped up the icy water, laughing again when she saw an old donut come drifting down with the current. She picked it up and laid half of it in front of the gray she-cat, stuffing her own half down quickly. Then she looked around again, waiting for the catch phrase, 'You've been punk'd!' This was purely too good to be true. Their own little house.
'Ya know, It's great in here, but its also really stuffy. Wanna go outside and catch a breath of fresh air?
She asked the hazel eyes, nibbling on a chewed-up claw. Moon had always bitten her nails, and now they were scarred and scratched as her kitten teeth had left in them. Glancing around, Moon realized the pink elephant sitting in the room. There was no exit.
Moon began breathing quicker, turning back to her silver friend. The violet eyes reflected panic as she stared at the green-blue orbs.
'Juni... How are we gonna get- um, outside?' She asked, her voice rising until she was speaking in a high squeak. She spun around, searching the room wildly for an exit, but there were none. Only garbage.
They were surrounded by garbage. Trapped by trash. Done for. Moon yelled out in fear, her tail was whipping around wildly, and her whiskers twitched at an unreadble speed. Moon was slipping into panic, leaping up onto the wardrobe and then falling back down again, then climbing it again. Her own way of pacing while in freak-out mode.
The truth was, it was reminding her of a certain scarring experience she had had a while back at Laurence's Barn, when she was attacked by the dogs. The same, closed-in space situation, the same trapped feeling, the same muggy got air. The only difference was that last time that warm stench had been dog breath. No way am I getting out of this one, Moon thought miserably.
You can't cheat death twice.

Juniper smiled wide and joined Moon in the howl. She sounded more like a dying walrus, but that was ok. It was fun, and that was all that mattered. She ended her howl a few seconds before Moon did, because she couldn’t take not laughing at their stupid-ness any longer. She burst into uncontrollable laughter until it was softened into giggles when she smelled something that made her mouth really water. She could taste it already, sweet and creamy and delicious… She looked around, trying to find whatever was emitting that pleasant odor…
And she found it. Moon had split it in half and had given her one of the two halves. She took a big bite, discovering that it tasted even better than she thought it would. She quickly ate the rest, which was a few big bites. She wanted more, more than she could eat, but she knew there wasn’t any. But that was ok, why would she spend her whole day eating when she could spend the whole day having fun in a hideout under the world?
”Punk’d?” Juniper asked, a little confused, but playing along with it. She thought she sort of understood it, but oh well. It didn’t matter, and she didn’t want to stop having so much fun just so that Moon could explain yet another thing to her. Juniper was just too full of questions lately; She must be getting annoying. ”Oh, Punk’d,” She said after thinking it over for a few moments.
”Yeah, I’ve been having so much fun I didn’t notice it’s much more smelly in here than outside,” Juniper, or now Juni, replied. And, that was the truth; It was much smellier when you were standing on ancient garbage underground than it was standing on new garbage above ground. The smell is all locked forever and it must get more foul-smelling as time went on… New fumes being released as it tried to decompose and such. Juniper wondered why she hadn’t noticed it before. It was kind of hard to miss, the smell was overpowering.
”What do you mean how are we going to get out?” Juniper asked, and then answered Moon’s question, ”The way we came, of course.” She padded over to the hole where they fell down, and immediately her heart started to beat faster. She hadn’t realized that they had fallen so far. It must’ve been a fifteen-foot drop or more. No cat could make that jump. Not even a cat on friken’ steroids. ”…Nevermind,” She whispered, but a loud enough whisper for Moon to hear over… Well, whatever it was she was doing. Some kind of a dance with a big carved-out piece of wood.
Juniper looked around wildly for an exit. ’Stay calm,’ She told herself, but it wasn’t working. Were they trapped here…. Forever? But no, not forever. They would surely starve and die before forever came around. Juniper shivered at the thought of being as hungry as she had been before Moon had given her that mouse. Only, if they were stuck here, nobody was going to rescue them. Nobody could hear them, see them, smell them. They would die quietly, and slip into oblivion.

Somewhere weakness is our strength, And I'll die searching for it. I can't let myself regret such selfishness.
Moon stopped panicking. A calm voice in the back of her mind had began to speak, and she had ignored it until she relaized just who's it was.
...Fon?
The white she-cat listened intently for the voice again, straining on the ground to her her own thoughts. Must have been my imagaination. Fon is gone. How would he be speaking to me right now, especially here-
She was cut off when the voice had begun talking again. This time she heard it, it echoed in her head and she tried to grasp its meaning through the hazy mist that was her panic. Do what? She thought shakily. What did he say? She began to feel even more scared. Was she going crazy? But then she heard it again. It repeated its words in a soft but commanding voice.
Drink some water.
She slowly obeyed as it repeated it's request again in her head. she lapped it up hungrily, enjoying the coolness. When she lifted her head, she asked Fon's voice, now what?
Drink some water.
She bent over and lapped up some more. The soft current pushed it onto her tongue, and she enjoyed it, but she didn't need anymore. She asked again, what now?
Drink some water.
She began to feel annoyed. I don't need any more water- She was interrupted again by the same request.
Drink some water.
This was freaking her out a little bit, but she obeyed, tasting it's icy bite on her tongue. Then it hit her- Why was the water so cold when the room was so hot? It gave a new meaning to the word room temperature. Her violet eyes narrowed and drifted over the little stream of water, and it was then that she spotted the pipe. The water was coming out of that! That was why it had a current- it was connected to the outside! She remembered the slight breeze she had felt when she had been sitting at the top of the heap, and then remembered the equally slight current that had gently pushed the water into her mouth.
She followed the pipe all around the hollow until it disappeared under a piece of cardboard. What the-? She began to think before she pushed the block out of the way to reveal a huge current. Water trickled along the bottom, to shallow to even reach her anckles and it dripped into the smaller pipe around the hollow. It continued past the small pool (that was probably wher a pipe had broken and leaked) until it also disappeared underneath another piece of furniture. She grinned wildly. This as their way out.
'Juni, look what I found...'
My pain and all the trouble caused, No matter how long I believe that there's hope [ooc: Lol, Moon didn't really say punk'd out loud, but that guy always says it on TV so I thought I should boldarize it. But I can see how I confused you XDD And I don't think they would die of hunger in a massive heap of thrown out food and garbage, more likely catch a disease!] [Song lyrics are of Let The Flames Begin by Paramore ]

What happened next was a series of unfortunate events. Juniper was running around wildly, a million things going through her head that were all fighting for room. ’How do we get out? What happens if we don’t get out? Should we call for help? If humans hear us will they help us? Can we climb the garbage wall to get out?’ This was just a fraction of the stuff that was going through her head as she frantically scurried around. She asked way too many questions. And now her head hurt from all of the questions that were all dying to be answered, but couldn’t be answered.
She eventually wore herself out and laid down on the mattress, closing her eyes. She totally forgot about Moon for a moment as she took deep breaths, tried to calm herself down, and tried to look at this logically. First, she stated the facts in her head: They had fallen about fifteen feet into an underground chamber. It was smelly in here. They needed to get out. The only way out was the opening they had fallen through… That was fifteen feet above Juniper’s head. And her head hurt.
This was no good. They weren’t getting out that way. Could they dig? That would take forever. And again with the forever. She needed to get the forever thing out of her system right now. Forever. Forever. Forever. Forever. Forever. There, that should be out of her system now. Now, back to the problem… Juniper looked around calmly for another exit, but no immediate things stood out. Then she remembered Moon and walked over to her. ”Thirsty?” She asked, pretty proud about how she had kept all of the panic out of her voice.
She watched as Moon got up and moves some cardboard away from a pipe. She followed her and didn’t realize that she was looking at their way out. She stared blankly at Moon, not getting it. ”You found… A pipe. With water,” She responded, looking at Moon curiously. ”I don’t get it,” She said, still managing to keep the panic that was threatening to take her over out of her voice.
And then, suddenly she understood. The pipe went up and out of the garbage dump. It was their exit. Suddenly, her eyes lit up, and she smiled hugely. ”Moon! You found the way out!” She exclaimed, more relieved than she ever remembered being. ”We’re not going to die! We’re getting out of here!” She exclaimed happily, and spun around in a circle. ”Cmon!” She exclaimed over her shoulder to Moon.
[/blockquote] Please stay tuned for what happens next. Song Lyrics ~ LAX to O'Hare by The Academy Is… Ooc: Aha! I knew that would be their way out! As soon as you said there was water I thought: Oh, will that lead them somewhere? Hehehe. Oh, WHOOPS, my bad, I knew it was a little strange for a cat to say punk’d, I was as confused as Juniper on that one. XDDD Well, to Juniper, starving was her biggest concern…. Since she didn’t really see any food at the moment and, after her hungry week or two, she’s afraid of starving. ^^;

I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away
Moon laughed, leaping into the long tunnel and running as fast as her short kitten legs would take her. She had found a way out! They wouldn't die! Glancing back to make sure Juniper was following, she sped out the other end, landing on her face and landing on the dirt. She might have complained if her blood hadn't been filled with relief. Thank god!
'We made it out! But the best part is now we have out very own hideaway! With it's very own exit!'
She meowed at her friend excitedly. The home she had thought she had found in that barn had been found in another place! Although it was in a dump, it was still something, a home no less.
A home.
She laughed again, running up the hill of garbage and making sure not to fall in anymore unknown holes. It was the best she could ask for; a friend, a home, a full supply of food and enough skills to survive. Not perfect, but close. Giggling, she ran up to an old red wagon, spotting the old plastic pool slide she had seen before and dragging the wagon to the top of it.
'Lets have some fun, shall we, Juni?'
Moon called out to the silver she-cat. Waiting until Juniper was sitting in the back of the wagon with her, she leaped in herself, pushing away the stone that held the wagon in place with her paw as the craft began to roll. And then they were flying.
'Whoa- YEEEEAAAAAAHHHHWOOOOOOOW!
The white she-cat screamed in glee, extatic. The wind buffeted her white fur with such strength that she thought she would go flying like last time. Suddenly Moon spotted where the slide stopped. And where it stopped there was nothing but sky in front.
The wagon went flying off of the ramp and through the air, bumping and rumbled. And then in one quick lurch it stopped, and Moon was submerged in water. Not normal water, though, but chlorinated water.
They had landed in a swimming pool.
I don't know where my soul is, I don't know where my home is [ooc: Yet another twist?! xDDD Yeah, it's cool that they now have a hideout in the dump, right? Maybe when the plot finally kicks and the dogs began to take over Nenbrook, that's where everyone can hide. I'll post that in the plotting section. Until then, wanna continue this in Cheshire? Then could have landed in a humans back yard! Or even worse, The Market! They could have landed in a public pool! LOL!] [Song lyrics are from I'm like a bird by Nelly Furtado ]

Maybe I should blindly throw my faith Juniper was so relieved that they had figured out how to get out of that prison that she didn’t even think of the possibilities. They could have their own little hideout away from everyone… A secret hiding spot… Even better than a tree house. And humans wouldn’t bother them, either, and she doubted that dogs would be able to get down there; They were way too big to fit through the entrance or exit. Juniper didn’t realize any of these things. She just realized that she was out.
Juniper barely had time to ask if Moon was ok before she was back on her feet again, yelling excitedly at her. Then, after hearing Moon’s words, it clicked. This was their home! Their hangout. A place where they could feel safe. ”It’s a great house! No one will be able to find it unless we tell them where it is,” Juniper said happily, though she probably wasn’t going to be going back into their home for a little while longer. She was going to enjoy the fresh air after going out of her mind with panic.
The small silver tabby kept pace with Moon, occasionally stopping to look at something that had caught her eye as they ran up some garbage. Juniper was getting the hang of running around garbage. It wasn’t as easy as it looked; You had to be careful of sharp things, sinking down into things, and, as they had learned before, falling into things. She stopped at the top of the hill to look around with her pretty hazel eyes, which were a little more green than brown, but definitely still hazel. Her eyes were shining brightly as she looked at their new home. She was starting to really like this place.
”As long as we can easily find an exit this time, sounds like a plan.” She replied, and, after hesitating for a second after realizing what was about to happen, jumped into the back of the wagon. ”This is going to be fun,” She said enthusiastically, waiting for Moon to jump into the front of the wagon. She looked up at the sky and remembered what Moon had said to her earlier. ’It’s going to rain soon.’ She thought, ’I hope our new home is waterproof enough, I don‘t like getting wet.’ That was the last thing she thought of before they went flying through the air.
Juniper yowled happily, her eyes lit up with excitement, adrenaline pumping through her body, making her ready for anything. In the middle of another loud yowl, her voice stopped abruptly. She could feel something rushing into her mouth… Water, She realized, and her heart skipped a beat as her lungs started to hurt from not having any oxygen. What had happened?
She looked around and saw only a greenish blue color. Well, that wasn’t the only thing. She also saw a white kind of human substance holding the water in. ’A pool,’ She thought, and started to frantically thrash her paws around in an attempt to resurface. Her lungs were screaming at her to get some air as water continued to swirl around her. She clamped her mouth shut, and tried to figure out the difference between up and down as she wildly attempted to swim…
[/blockquote] Into the next thing that comes my way. ooc: Yes, I was thinking the same thing about the dogs! And Cheshire sounds fine. And... I think a public pool would be hilarious and fun to rp. XDDD Image seeing a wagon flying out of nowhere carrying two cats splash into the pool.... I would probably die from laughter before i could rescue the cats....
