{ All "bad" dogs } Shiba sniffed the road as she trotted down it. The new neighborhood seemed fine - perfectly suited to her tastes. She grinned, tongue lolling out of her mouth. She spotted a barn ahead and let out a howlish bark to signal to the rest of the pack what she had spotted. There was no real leader in the pack but it functioned well. They quarreled sometimes. After all, they weren't exactly a pack - more like a ragtag group of dogs coming from the same area.
But now they had a new home.
She grinned and trotted into the barn, eyes taking in the hay stacked up at the sides and the empty stalls. They looked comfy. She could smell rat. The dogs would be well-fed here, that was for sure. This new territory looked good and promising. Much nicer than their old towan. She rolled onto her back in the hay and let out a happy yip. It was then that she smelt the other smell, faint but still there.
Cat.

--Moon purred softly. For the cold weather outside, it was considerably warmer in the barn so she had decided to maybe stay the night. Many mice lived among the cozy cracks and holes in the old stable, and she was ready for a long nap after a great meal. She gently cleaned off her snow-white fur, and she played with a piece of straw for a while after that, pawing the little strand with playful eyes. She was happy; gleeful to just have a nice, safe place to be able to return to. Moon only wished that this was where she had run into that night. But it all seemed to long ago. For the moment she was safe. --For the moment. --Slowly the tension began to drain out of her body as she relaxed on the huge pile of hay. She was lying in the corner of the huge red barn, and her purple eyes unfocused as her mind drifted. But then she heard it. A proud, confident, howl -a dog's howl --She moved. With such a small amount of warning, she was still drowsy but she sprung up from her warm pile of hay and darted across the barn. If she could make it across the barn in time, she might still get away unharmed. The newcomers probably didn't know about the other exit. --The sounds of large paws pounding against the cold cement floor pushed adrenaline into her veins as she sprang, and -faster than she ever had before- made it halfway through the huge structure before she appeared in line of sight of the huge dog. --The mistake of a new stray. --She froze up, trembling, staring into the seemingly endless eyes. --And then in one quick shake of her fluffy white head, she broke free of her trance and ran like she never had before.

Shiba's nostrils flared as she inhaled the new scent hungrily. Cat cat cat. Her tail thumped happily on the floor of the barn and she gave a low growl to her nearest companion. Fun fun fun. The German shepherd female slunk towards the scent, her heart hammering with excitement and the urge to chase. But not yet. It was then that she stepped into the light, blinking against it's brightness. When she could finally see she took in the cowering white kitten that seemed frozen in front of her. Chase chase chase. And so she did. With a happy yip she bounded forward, her jaws snapping shut dangerously close to where the kitten had just been. But now she was running and Shiba ran after her, tongue lolling from her mouth as she began to bark up a frenzy.
The husky mix shuffled into the barn after Shiba and flopped down in the hay. Ooh, it was so comfy. He glanced towards his partner who was frozen still. Letting out a low whine, Aspen rose to his paws and sniffed her, wondering what was wrong. But as he inhaled he quickly found his answer - only it was so much that something was wrong but rather extremely good and fun news. Cat! Kitty kitty kitty cat! Close by! His eyes widened and he let out a low woof, wondering what he was supposed to do. Aspen had always been a follower, always. Shiba stepped outside and he followed her quickly, pausing as his eyesight adjusted to the bright sun. Then he saw the kitten and let out an involuntarily bark. As she dashed off, Shiba hot on her heels, Aspen let out an excited howl to the sky and began to run after the pair. hoping for his share in the amusement that was certain to follow.

--Moon flew across the barn, trying to outrun the huge, long strides with her small kitten legs. It certainly wasn't working as another dog sped into the chase. She hissed at them in anger and fear. No one else was here in her 'safe' place to be, and it was only her as she spun towards the old, broken down hole in the east side of the big red barn. almost there, almost! --She was nearing the exit when she realized just how small and jagged the rough hole was. Trying to slip through, she kicked forward, but her ribcage didn't seem like it was planning on fitting anytime soon. the two dogs were closing in, she new it, and with a huge effort, she sucked in her breath and blew through the hole, landing on her head. She heard the howling and barking from the other side, and hoped that the two would be unable to fir through while she sat up, lifting a red paw. Blood had started to ooze out from her pads and parts along the sides, and she lad little cuts in places where she had earned splinters, and through the dull pain that succeeded from her back foot, she was pretty sure she had sprained or maybe even broken the white paw, but she was out of that barn, wishing with all her heart that the dogs wouldn't be able to follow her. She could hardly even limp, never mind run from the gaping jaws. --Courageous eyes darted around, looking for a safer place. Moon was sure she wouldn't be able to climb a tree,a nd behind the Laurence there was only a field and a few loose trees as she limped forwards towards the oncoming woods. After the run in with the dogs, she would willingly give up her warm stack of hay for a thornbush at the moment. But moments never last too long. Moon knew that all too well.

OOC: Haha, let's pretend I'm on the right account. And sorry for taking a while
Shiba panted as she ran after the white kitten, her eyes gleaming with excitement and the prospect of amusement that was soon to come. She sped up, closing in on the kitten. Stupid thing, anyways. It was headed straight for the wall. It was cornered. Too late did Shiba see the kitten dive through a hole she'd hadn't made out, barely managing to make it through. Shiba lunged, her jaws snapping where where Moon had been. She growled as Aspen flew to a stop behind her, nearly crashing into her. "Go!" she shrieked at the halfwit. "Go around the other side!" She snarled furiously at the other dog and raced out of the barn, tearing around the sides until she could see the kitten again. "Run, run, as fast as can. You can outrun me, kit!" she spat, eyes glemaing once more. She let out a harsh laugh as she continued to close the distance between them. "It's not over yet," she snapped viciously.

[Lol, its fine. I actually started posting this under Coon's name before I realized what account I was on.]
--Moon looked around, hearing the paws coming from the other side. Her stomach clenched when she realized what was going on. The dogs were going to go around the barn. And she couldn't keep up a fast enough pace with her injured paws. She persevered though, with rickety legs threatening to collapse. Spotting a rough but thick enough bush to shield her white fur, she quickly took shelter under it, laying down on her side and peeking out through a crack. --She wasn't sure if she was downwind from the massive dog or not, but her heart was pounding none the less. Licking her bleeding paw, she cleaned the pads, and then froze. The dogs were entering the clearing. She could see them clearly now. If worst came to worst and they discovered her, she would just have to put up with the pain and try to climb the tree behind her shelter. --She tried to think about what she would do from there, but she wasn't thinking straight until she realized she was getting warm. Not the usual heat of having a thick coat, and it wasn't a particularly sunny day, but hot. boiling hot, in fact. And with growing horror she realized she had a new enemy. --Fever.
