Rowan blinked and gave a little chuckle of amusement. "Doctor who?" he asked, arching one eyebrow at Rose's reference. Though it could sometimes be awakrd, he liked it hwne others talked about stuff he didn't know. It gave him an oppurtunity to learn. Of course, this worked better if he could offer any information to the conversation but when that wasn't the case then hopefully his charmismatic personality was enough. He snorted.
"So, Rose," he began with a grin, "how long have you been on the streets? Were you born a housepet or a stray?" His eyes flickered with interest. That was always an important question, he had quickly realized. It was interesting to try and guess by their personalities and compare to the actual answer. Rose seemed rather shy as if she was new to the streets but Rowan had a feeling that that was also part of her personality. Besides, she had cast her shyness away quickly enough. Perhaps she'd been feral longer than one might think in a first impression.

Rose giggled, not suprised he didn't know him. "Dr. Sesus. He was a poet or something." She smiled, feeling rather proud she finally knew something that someone else didn't. She always felt like any news she heard, everyone else already knew. She never surprised anyone with information, they did. She bit her lip, trying to dig out the information. She had looked her domestic life away, in the deepest darkest shelf of her mnid. She didn't want to relive it. Yet she felt comfortable enough around Rowan, to take out the past and share it with him. "I was only domesticated for about 6 months. Then I escaped. I felt to suffocated by my parents, I had to leave. So about a year and a half." She decided to leave out the fact that her father was a dirty force-breeder. She sighed, her back stiffening at the thought. She quickly changed the subject. "How about you?"

Rowan nodded. "I see. You a fan of poetry?" he asked, partially teasing but partially serious. It wasn't that he had a problem with poetry, he had just always considered it more of a human thing than something for cats. But to each their own. He shrugged, not troubled by the fact that Rose knew something that he didn't. In fact, he found it interesting - like getting to know another side of her.
No, he corrected. Not anotehr side of her. That made it sound too much like here was a secret Rose being revealed to him when really this was Rose and he was getting to know her for the first time. He bit his lip in sympathy as the she-cat told him her tale. "That sounds horrible," he murmured, gently resting his tail on her shoulder for the briefest instant in comfort.
"I lived on a farm with other cats but there was getting to be too many of us to I was left on the road." The words were out of his mouth before he had even thought about it - it seemed only natural to repay her story with his own. But he had left out Dapple somehow. Why?
He couldn't say.

Rose smiled, feeling comfortable with this question.. "Well I have always been a fan of music. I enjoy poetry, but not nearly as much as music." She always a tune going through her mind. Something that went along with her mood. The music in her mind seemed to remind her body how her mind felt. Sometimes she felt detached. Like she could be thinknig one thing, but doing another. The music seemed to keep her together, one. Rose shrugged, gaining a lot of comfort in his simple gesture. "It wasn't so bad. It was just something I had to do." She sighed, feeling awful for Rowan. "Did it hurt your feelings? I mean when you were left?" She looked into his eyes, trying to see what he felt. "I would die if I was abandoned."

Rowan laughed at Rose, but in a friendly way. He wasn't laughing at her interests but he merely found them to be amusing. "You're not like anyone I've met before, Rose," she said with a grin, shaking his head slowly in admiration. He liked the odd tune when he heard it but Rose seemed to be musical and quite, well...different. Unique. And he liked that.
He nodded. "I know. But you still did it. Most would have pretended it was okay to stay. You were brave Rose," he murmured softly. Her question, or maybe just the sympathy in it, caught him off guard. "I had known it was coming. They'd gotten rid of others before me. It wasn't that bad actually. On the farm I could pretty much roam around as I pleased so it was only a change of location, not really of lifestyle. Except now I don't rely on them to feed me if I can't find anything," he laughed. "But I had a friend, Dapple, who got taken away before me so my first thought was that maybe I could find her. I haven't yet. I told her I would. I have to find her because I don't want her waiting for me forever. But then another part of me thinks she'd have stopped. But then I know that Dapple knows me too well. She knows that I'll do whatever it takes to find her.
"I just don't know if I want to anymore."
There. He had said it.
Admin's Edit on June 24th: This thread will be locked. When Sequna returns it will possibly be opened again. If not then we'll assume: -They talk a bit more -Rowan is extremely confused -It gets later in the day and Rowan heads off to find Violet and Rose leaves to go do something too
