Rose walked through the forest quietly, not wanting to disturb anything, or anyone. She thought of this morning, all the fun she had with Violet. It seemed like that was a life-time behind her. She didn't know why. Now walking in the cold forest, with the wet grass under her paws she felt empty. Not complete. Alone. She felt as though she were falling and nothing could stop her, and nothing would.
Her attention was snapped back when she heard something. Rose immediately wished she had gone to town with Violet. "Hello?" Rose asked nervously. She prayed nothing would answer her call.

Laugh it off And let it go.
A minute orange tabby dashed through the forest, pausing to sniff in the wondrous scents that now surrounded her. Alright, it was easy to see that she was relatively new on the streets, her eyes still getting accustomed to her joyous new life. One might have thought her attitude was overly optimistic in regards to her new existance but Indigo Wintertrap would bat away such ideas in the blink of an eye. She was optimistic by nature but that was completely irrelevant. The truth of the matter was this: she loved being a stray.
She loved having the freedom to do whatever she wanted and to go wherever she wanted and to be able to do something or go somwhere whenever she wanted instead of having to scratch at the door and only leave when the humans found it suitable. No, she was much better suited to the life of a stray. A small smirk appeared on her face as she sighted another cat up ahead. Her first reaction was to jump out and surprise the she-cat but she almost instantly realized that that probably and unfortunately was not the best idea.
She didn't even know the cat. What if it was some meanie? She rolled her eyes and crept forward, stalking after it silently even after her recent decision not to surprise it. She couldn't help it - it was too much fun. But finally she sighed and stood up - she didn't want to give someone a hear attack or something. She opened her mouth to greet the other female but apparently she'd made a teensy bit too much noise in rising for the she-cat had already called out hello. Indigo made a face and stepped out of the brambles, a sheepish grin on her face. "Hey! I'm Indigo."

Rose stood a decent distance from the other cat. She trembled slightly, and looked the cat up and down. She seems nice enough Rose nodded. "Pleased to meet you Indigo, I'm Rose." She stood warily, as she waited for a reply. She realized that the cat may want her to make conversation. She straightened slightly, trying to appear more confident, then she was. If everyone knew she was about as confident as a blind kitten, well who knows what they'd do to her?
"So ummm, what are you up to?" She looked at her paws. Can you be and weirder Rose? Probably.

Come tomorrow It will seem So yesterday
Indigo gave a small smile as the other she-cat introduced herself as Rose. She made a mental note to remember this and then aloed her to proceed. "Hey," she sid again, grinning and stepping closer so as to makeit seem more like an actual conversation instead of one from a distance. The dea almost made her laugh but she managed to play it cool. She gave a small shrug at the question. "Meh, not much. Just exploring, I guess you could say."
She winked. "And you?" For some reason she was genuinely interested, though that was most probably due to her love of meeting other cats - sometimes she almost thought she preferred new cats to the ones she actually knew. But then she changed her mind - like always. At least this Rose didn't seem too shy or anything.

Rose relaxed, assuring herself this cat would not eat her. "Not much, just trying to how things work around here. Oh and make sure I stay out of any other cats way." She looked down at her paws. "I don't think many of the other cats want to, get to know me."[/b]
She sighed at how moany and depressing it must sound, and she felt bad. She was basicly dumping her life problems right here on Indigo's lap. "Sorry about this, I really need to be more posistive." Rose played with a piece of grass, twirling it around her claws. It was a nervous habit of hers, she tended to do it when she felt lonely. Yet she did it with millions of people around her. Even in a crowd, Rose can feel all alone. Actually, espesically in a crowd.

Indigo gave a small grin and shrug as Rose replied. It seemed the she-cat was a bit like herself, just trying to get the hang of how things worked being a stray. "I don't think many of the other cats want to, get to know me." Indigo's eyes widened slightly and she frowned. That was so sad, she couldn't help but feel sympathetic - even if that wasn't necessarily Rose's intention. She couldn't help it. Beneath the layers of attitude and outgoingness, she was a sympatheic cat by nature - though this side of her was usually pretty wel hidden. She smiled softly at Rose.
"I want to get to know you," she said slowly. But it was true and she hoped Rose would realize that. She flashed her a grin. It was true. Rose was starting to interest her and she found herself filled with the same longing that overcame her when in the presence of someone new. She wanted to get to know them, to listen to them and compare them with her already created fictitious image of them - to impove it. She grinned and gave a little shrug at Rose's next comment. "We all have our days," she said with a grin and a wink.

Rose smiled, and blushed slightly. "Thank you Indigo, I would like to get to know you also." Rose hoped deeply that this would be the start of a blossuming friendship. That Indigo and her would live out there days, playing and having fun. Of course they'd still have there lives to tend to, hunting, dare she say it breeding, but they could still be friends.
Rose could feel her guard going down, and her tense position relaxed. She stopped fiddling with the piece of grass and simply smiled at Indigo. In her heart her mind was reeling though. Rose tended to become rather, dependent on her good friends. She wasn't very outgoing and rarely stood up for herself. She mainly got her friends to do that. They dependency was usually enough pressure, that it would send and cat fleeing.

She grinned. "Glad the feeling's mutual." There was something so...happy... about making a new friend - or at least starting what could be a new friendship. Indigo loved the feeling and it was part of the reason she loved meeting new cats - that secret hope that it could be the start of a new friendship. She grinned again. "So, how long have you been a street cat? Done anything cool so far?" She et out a little laugh. "I'm fairly new I guess but not much has happened," she admitted. "Well a fish bit me but that's all."
Somehow 'a fish bit me' seemed funny and so she let out a giggle, hoping that Rose wouldn't think she was being stupid. She noticed that the other she-cat had stopped fiddling with her paws in the grass and seemed a lot more relaxed. Because Indigo had said she did want to get to know her? Wow. She felt bad. Rose seemed to not think highly of herself at all - underestimated herself. In Indigo's mind there was nothing that set her below all the other cats she had met except that she was a bit shy.
Well, Indigo didn't have a lack at self-esteem at all. Maybe she'd teach Rose.... She grinned.

Rose laughed, feeling much better. "A fish bit you? Wow how did you manage that?" She giggled a little, before answering th cat's question. "I haven't done much, well I have done some hunting, managed to catch a chicken!" Rose smiled, rather proud of herself. Chicken was definatly a harder catch.
She laughed remembering a funny time, before, when she was still coming to this town. "I have only been a stray for about a year now. I have a funny story that happened when I was coming to this area. I met this cat, Salem and we teased this one dog so much. He would bark and yip at us all day long, so we just walked along the top of the fence, where he was kept. Shaking our tails in his face. He couldn't do anything." She smield remembering the pleasant times.

Indigo found herself laughing along with Rose, blushing slightly but in good humor. "Well it was a catfish - apparently it likes the taste of cats." She giggled. "This cat, Stellar - he was trying to teach me to make sure their stingers or teeth or whatever don't get you but I wasn't really paying attention and then, well... it got me!" She laughed again, the memory still fresh in her head. Her eyes widened. "Wow! I haven't hunted much but a chicken? Wow. That sounds hard! Was it wild or like on a farm?" Her eyes shone with excitement. "Did the farmer chase you?" She laughed. Apparently Rose wasn't so shy after all - or at least certainly had some interesting tricks up her sleeve.
As Rose told another story, Indigo laughed again. "That's so funny/" And she meant it. She could just picture it in her head: some yappy dog barking its head off at two cats up on a fence teasing it. "Wish I had have been there." She grinned. "Next time I see a dog, me and you are gonna some fun." She winked and gave another laugh - she just couldn't stop.

Rose nodded. "Definatly! The chicken was on a farm. Yes the farmer chased me. We had to hide in the forest for a long time. It was rather scarey." She realized this might freak Indigo out. "But I know to be more careful now." So hoped it wouldn't have put Indigo off the expedetion.
She looked up at the sky and smiled at the bright sunshine that lit up the sky. It was warm, with a light breeze, that cooled everything off slightly. The weather was perfect for a day of laying aronud, or exploring. Either way, Rose knew it would be a great day.

I'm just a bird
Indigo's eyes widened and she let out a little gasp. There was definately much more to Rose, hiding beneath the surface. She grinned, shaking her head in disbelief. "That sounds so... exciting!" She laughed. But it was true! Getting chased by a farmer and getting away with a chicken. "Who were you with?" she asked politely, noting that Rose had said 'we'. "Salem again? Man, I gotta meet that cat," she teased with another little laugh.
"The forest isn't too bad. But I understand why'd you be scared, of course." She smiled sympathetically. She probably would have scared too. Well, more likely than anything, high on an adrenaline rush but scared as well - somewhere deep down. She smirked. "Seriously, it sounds like you've been getting up to waaay more fun than me," she giggled. "We should so go do something exciting! An adventure - just the two of us!" Her eyes widened with this spectacular and promising idea.
That's already flown away.

Rose nodded. "Definatly. I was with Violet when I went the first time. She's nice, but I don't think she's very interested in hanging out with me." Rose shrugged. "That's okay though, I'll make new friends. I have." She smiled brightly at Indigo.
She shifted her weight, excited about her plan. "We could go into town, I haven't been into the town yet. I heard it's suppsoe to be nice." She gazed around. "Although I do enjoy the woods, it's so peaceful. It's like a scene out of a fairytale." She smiled happily, letting the sun soak into her skin. Her body filled with warmth, and she stood there allowing it. It was a wonderful day, and it would be from now on. Rose was going to change, for the better.

Indigo nodded. "Violet?" she asked. It was probably just another street cat. But Rose didn't seem to think Violet was that fond of her so the probability of the three of them getting together for something might not have been the best. That was alright. It wasn't as if Indigo had some fueling desire to meet this 'Violet' - whoever she was. She grinned at Rose's next comment. "I have too," she replied with a wink. It was true - already, she considered Rose to be a friend. Funny how things work.
"Hmm, town, eh? That might be fun." Indigo shifted her weight slightly, eager with the new prospects. "To be honest I haven't really seen the town - or, like, explored it," she admitted. That was a shame. It was probably only because she had been so excited to be a stray that her focal explorations had been as far away from her housecat life as possible. She shrugged. "True," she said softly, glancing around her. "Very beautiful," she agreed with a little nod. "Very fairytale-like." She grinned.
"But we can always come back here for a little rest," she offered. She smirked, her paws kneading the ground in anticipation. "Sooo... you wanna go dig up some trouble in town?" she joked. Though it was partially true. She did want to have some kind of fantastic adventure or exploit though not necessarily one that would land them in a pile of trouble.
But, hey, trouble could be fun.

Rose nodded eagerly. With her new found friendship, she felt more confident in herself. Confident enough to go into town and explore. Even if that risked being spotted by other cats. She knew almost certainly she would become dependent on Indigo, and she hoped the other cat wouldn't mind. "Everything sounds great Indigo! Let's go!" Rose trotted a few steps away, before turning and coming back. "On our way out of the forest I can show you where I like to sleep. We can come back tonight!" She had spotted another place jsut like the one she had slept in for the past few nights, not to far away. She couldn't wait for Indigo to see.
