"I'm over here" Violet whispered, looking down from her branch in the tree. Rose was sitting on a branch below her. Violet could hear the footsteps of humans get closer. Their scent of their dogs wafted through the air. "Rose," she said quietly,"Climb up higher in the tree." She prayed not to get caught by these awful humans and their snarling dogs. Violet actually liked dogs, but not these ones. They growled viscioucly, baring their teeth. Violet climbed up to next branch, wanting to be as far away as possible from the dogs. She could hear the dogs barking madly as she heard them getting closer to her tree. "Rose, we might have to jumpdown and run," she said calmly. The farmers voice rang through Violets ears. Suddenly, the tip of his gun poked through the wall of leaves. "Run!" exclaimed Violet she jumped out of the tree and landed with a soft thud. She didn't bother looking at the humans or the dogs. She darted through the forest quickly, powered by her need to stay alive. She ran deep into the heart of the forest, and waited there for Rose.

Rose followed closely behind, glad the farmer hadn't seen her.
She could hear the yells, and barks of the farmer and his dog, or dogs.
When she reached where Violet had stopped she still didn't feel safe.
"Violet, let's climb to the top of that tree, he'll never get us there."
She looked up and down a massive willow. Then digging her claws into it's bark she climbed very high, until she stumbled across a large hole in the tree.
"Violet! Up here there is a hollowed out portion big enough for the both of us. We can hide in it."
Without Violet's reply, Rose climbed in and settled herself down leaving plenty of room for Violet.

Violet nuzzled her coat against Roses coat as she hopped into the hole. There was a thin sheet of willow leaves, making the hole unoticable from outside. She peered out of the hole to see where the humans were. She couldn't see them any more. She told herself not to get over confident. But she really thought that they had given up the hunt. The dogs seemed to have caught on to their scent and were wildly shooting through the forest towards the willow tree."Rose!" shw whispered urgently. "Can I go on the inner area of the tree, my pelt stands out, yours doesn't?"

Rose nodded and moved out to farthest side of the hole. "There right below us Violet." She looked down to the base of the tree. "The dogs know we are up here." Rose iunched deeper in, knowing she was squishing Violet, but she didn't want to be seen.
"They're long gone! Dang cats!" Rose peered out of the hole, and saw two men and 4 dogs walking away.
"They're leaving Violet." Rose moved away from Violet so she could have more room. [b/]"We should stay up here for a little while to be safe."[/b] Violet peered out again, just to be sure they weren't coming back. She could see them still walking away. She watched them until they were out of sight.

Violet listened to Rose and stayed in the hole. The time flew by infront of her face and she slowly became more tired, and groggy. She didn't want to surrender herself to sleep, but it was pulling her, and she couldn't fight back. She relaxed her muscles and...CLUNK. Her head hit the inside wall of the tree. Her eyes grew wide with terror, what if they heard that? She thought, peeking out f the hole, to get an answer. Pheeww... she let out a sigh of relief. "Okay, " violet said seriously. "I think that we both know that we should not do that again...agreed?"

Rose nodded and laughed quietly. "That was definatly not one of a best ideas, that's for sure." Rose was just happy they were safe, and that the humans were gone.
The barn had been a lovely home, but there was no way she was going back there, at least for a while. She would just live here in the forest. She could see other tree's with hollow inside that she could make her home in, so Violet could keep this one.
"I'm not going back to that farm for a long time." She looked around, they were deep in the forest, the farm was no where near her. Perfect

Violet nodded in agreement to Rose. She started to noticed her stomach, slighty sore. "Maybe we should get something to eat. It's been a while since that rat we had" Violet hopped down from the tree and bouded through the forest. Her nose was alert for even the faintest smell. It seemed as though there wasn't much to eat around this area and began venturing towards the last bit of forest.

"Is it just me, or is today not good for hunting?" she asked Rose. Finaly the forest ended and the two came to an old road. "Hey!" said Violet, "I smell something, it smells like another cat... and it's very fresh" Violet followed the scent so intensely that she had no idea what was going on around her. She heard a sound coming up behind her. She turned her head to face backwards. A large blue truckwas racing down the road. Also not aware of anything around it. Violet burst of the road as time seemed to slow down.

The truck was 1 meter away from her. Half a meter. She pushed herself harder. A foot. She closed her eyes and tensed her muscles... WHOOSH! The big truck ran by her and set wind into her face. Violet shook nervously as she walked off the road. "Wow, today has been dangerous, so let's just stick to the side of the road for now." Violeted mused happily. She trotted along the sidewalk.

Rose watched the car go and nodded in agreement. "We've been having nothing but close calls today huh?" Rose ran to catch up to Violet. She didn't want to be alone, not after today's events. She was definatly a little shooken up, and she didn't mind admitting it.
Rose's nose could smell the other feline too, but she didn't know where it was. The scent was to strong, it only told her the other cat was very near. Nothing else, which unerved Rose a little. The thought of another cat watching her, without her knowledge was scarey. She walked closer to Violet. "Violet, I think someone's following us." Rose looked around nervously.
