I want to be the minority I don't need your authority Down with the moral majority 'Cause I want to be the minority
Trash. Garbage. Rubish. A new load of it was unloaded everyday. It was bitter, as was the young tom that now walked the roads of Nenbrook. The brown torbie's spotted coat blended in with the crap loaded into this landfill. Black crows were rumaging through the piles, flying away, and then looping back as Onyx passed. He sneered, jumping at a crow that squacked and flew off to a different heap to gorge itself in food. He chuckled. The stupid vultures were too easy to scare and tease.
I pledge allegiance to the underworld One nation under dog There of which I stand alone A face in the crowd Unsung, against the mold Without a doubt Singled out The only way I know
He padded on, memories and sadness clouding his thoughts with every pawstep. Would he ever see Twig again? He had no clue. The fluffy black and white collie had been his only trace of freindship. Other than that dog, he had no more friends or family. He hated his life. Things went wrong all the freaking time. He only had the faintest idea of how he was still alive.
'Cause I want to be the minority I don't need your authority Down with the moral majority 'Cause I want to be the minority
The young tom winced and lifted a front white paw. He gently pulled a thorn out of his pad and licked it untill it had stopped bleeding. He limped on, trying not to put too much wieght on his injured paw. He sniffed in the piles. He could be hunting, but he didn't know where yet. He pulled out a glass dish, and drug it to a level surface. He limped back, and pulled out a jug that was leaking white liquid, and held it over the bowl, filling it with the white stuff.
Stepped out of the line Like a sheep runs from the herd Marching out of time To my own beat now The only way I know
He sniffed it to make sure that it wasn't sour, and drank the milk after he had put the plastic container off to the side. The smart fellow had nothing else to eat, so he dealt with what he had.
One light, one mind Flashing in the dark blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts For crying out loud she screamed out to me a free for all Fuck 'em all you are your own sight
'Cause I want to be the minority I don't need your authority Down with the moral majority 'Cause I want to be the minority

The gray she-cat sifted through the rubble looking for anything that might be considered food. You could see every single one of her ribs when you looked closely at her gray pelt, and her fur wasn't looking all that great either. She ripped open a garbage bag and stuck her muzzle inside. Something was in there. She pulled the pieces of trash away until she could find what she was looking for. Chicken. it was only a small piece, over cooked, dry, and tasting faintly of peanut butter. But it was food, and she needed it. The chicken only seemed to sharpen her hunger, but it wasn't quite as bad as before. She had known that almost every town had a dump. They had to put their junk somewhere, right? So she had followed her nose until she found it. The dump was the best and easiest place to find food if you didn't like or didn't know how to hunt.
Sparrow moved on to another pile. This one seemed promising. She didn't care about her pelt at the moment. Who would care if she looked nice when she died? It's not like someone would hold a funeral for her when they found her on the side of a road or in a trash can. Only the crows would care bout her once she was dead, and to them she was only another food item. They wouldn't find much, though. She was all skin and bone at the moment, and unless the birds liked eating hair they wouldn't care much about her body. Sparrow found an old tuna can and start licking the inside of it. She licked up the juices of the fish and the dislodged pieces from the can. it wasn't much, but it would help. She was feeling stronger, and it would take her a while to rebuild the meat she used to have on her bones. She didn't get much in her old home, but at least she'd gotten something. The daily bowl of food wasn't enough to feed all the cats in the small living space, but there was usually some left over sandwich or twinkie laying around that would satisfy her hunger. Then she got food, now she finds it.
She was born to a mother, to a nice family, but she wasn't given a second glance by any of them. They all found her weak and small and put her in a box outside. They didn't care, no one had really ever cared about her. They had only ignored her, and she had done nothing. Did they not like gray cats? Did they think her not worthy to live, to exist? She would make a living out of her life. She would survive in the world, no matter what anyone thought. She would get by and find food and find water and avoid fights as best as she could.

When you're feeling all alone The world's a drone And nobody's shown any love to you
When your heart is cold as stone Just change your tone Get rid of that groan and the world will too
The tom twitched his ears. He could hear something other than the crows. He had drunken half of his bowl of milk, and refilled it with the rest of the liquid the jug carried. The bowl was full again, and he was just about to continue drinking, when he spotted something out of the corner of his eye. He whipped his head around. A few piles of trash away was a grey and white she-cat. His orange eyes glowed with sympathy. He might be able to make friends if she didn't ack like Tempest Moonshimer had. He looked closer, and felt bad for her; she looked starving to death! The gray and white pelt just hung on her gaunt frame. He looked at his bowl of milk, than to the she-cat, than back.
Come swordfishes, love you Jellyfishes, love you Starfish, I LOVE YOU You know it's true Catfishes, love you Carpfishes, love you Blowfish-, STARFISH REALLY LOVE YOU In the ocean blue
"Hey," he mewed, trying to get her attention, "You over there." Onyx felt that he had her attention. "Come here," he meowed, flicking his brown torbie tail-tip. "I have something for ya'," he continued, pushing the bowl forward slightly with his tail. 'Poor thing. She must be famished...' he thought sympathetically. He stepped back from the bowl, dipping his head, signaling that she could have it. She looked lonely, just like he was.
Well, you can ignore this plea That's fine with me But one day you'll see that my words are true Oh, if you find that you agree I guarantee That you will soon be feeling the love too
"I'll find something else. You can have the milk," he meowed again. He was being truely sympathetic, which wasn't usually what he did. Well, he wouldn't usually introduce himself first either. "I'm Onyx. Onyx Stargazer. And what might your name be?" the tom meowed in his tough-cat meow. The spotted torbie bowed, and sat down, curling his striped tail around his paws.
And, swordfishes, love you Jellyfishes, love you Starfish, I WANT TO BE WITH YOU FOREVER You know it's true Catfishes, love you Carpfishes, love you Blowfish-, STARFISH LOVE ME LOVE ME In the ocean blueee

Sparrow removed her head from the pile of garbage she had been searching but had found no traces of food. She shook her head to dislodge a candy rapper than had caught a ride on the side of her head and started to move on. But then she froze. Was someone...was someone calling her? She swiveled her ears to try and find the voice again...and there it was. A male was calling her over. She looked out of the corner of her eye and saw the brown torbie. Her first instinct was to run, to flee from the unknown. To her unknown was danger because it's unknown. You don't know what might happen. But then she saw the bowl and caught the scent of the milk. She had only scented milk a few times before, and she remembered it well from when she was just a small kitten. When another female in the place she lived had had kittens she could smell the milk from across the house and it was mouth watering.
Sparrow turned toward the male, her bright hazel eyes wide as she assessed the situation, trying to decide whether to approach or flee. Thoughts of danger flitted about her head as she wondered if this male was dangerous or not. And if he was dangerous, how he would hurt or kill her. Finally, the temptation of the milk was too strong and she took the steps needed to come to the bowl and start to lap at the sweet milk. Every few seconds her ears would twitch or swivel, searching for signs of danger. Her first few licks were small as she savored the flavor, but her desperate need for food took over and she drank up the milk as fast as she could.
Sparrow finished the milk and lay down a few feet away, still in hearing distance, to listen quietly as the male talked, and as he told her his name and asked for hers. "Sparrow Breezewing." She said quietly. She had heard her name spoken only once by her mother, but remembered it like she was there every time she replayed it in her head. Her mother certainly wasn't going to send her daughter out into the world without a name, even though she thought her daughter would die within a few weeks of life and she could reuse the name. Sparrow remembered her mothers voice so well. Sweet, kind, and caring to everyone except for her. "Thank you." Sparrow said. "No one has been so kind to me ever before." And when she said no one, she meant it.

Charlie you look quite down With your big sad eyes And your big fat frown The world doesn't have to be so gray
Onyx watched the she-cat as she gulped down the milk. He cleaned his whiskers as the she-cat laid down and told him her name. "You have a lovely name, Sparrow," he mewed politley. He loved that name; Sparrow Breezewing. It was beutiful. "Your welcome. You looked like you needed it more than I did," Onyx meowed after he was thanked, though he couldn't believe his ears. He felt she had meant it when she had said that, and her appearance reflected it. He didn't want to be rude, but she did look like she would need some grooming, and food.
Charlie when your life's a mess When your feeling blue Or are in distress I know what can wipe that sad away
The tom locked gazes with Sparrow, his oranges eyes matching hers, his orbs filled with softness and sympathy. The torbie rose to his paws, and loped over to the nearest pile of garbage. "Are you still hungry? I could find something for us- erm... you to eat, if you'd like. I wouldn't mind..." he murmured to the grey and white she-cat, beginning to nose through the garbage. He hadn't wanted for her to think he loved her, which he couldn't even convince himself that he didn't. He ripped open a trash bag, slicing through it with a sharp, curved, gleaming, silver claw. The contents flowed out of it, swarming around Onyx's white paws, who jumped back, suprised at how much was in the bag.
All you have to do is Put a banana in your ear Put a ripe banana right into your favorite ear It's true So true Once it's in your gloom will disappear The bad in the world is hard to hear When in your ear a banana cheers So go and put a banana in your ear
He shoveled through it, searching for something decent. A crow landed close by and he pretended to mind his own buisness, before jumping at the mangy fleabag, claws glintting in sunlight, and let out a hiss of triumph as he hooked it's neck, and as it fell to the ground, it's neck snapped. "Do you think that crow is edible?" he asked with a chuckle, turning his head to Sparrow. He sniffed the bird at his paws, and used his claws to pick it up, and hold it off of the ground as he hopped over to where the she-cat was laying before dropping his catch.
Put a banana in your ear You will never be happy If you live your life in fear It's true! So true! When it's in the skies are bright and clear Oh, every day of every year The sun shines bright in this big blue sphere So go and put a banana in your Eaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrr

Sparrow started to groom herself as she listened to Onyx talk. She smiled as he complimented her name. She thought her mother had given her her name because she thought her daughter was small and weak, just like a sparrow. That she would be picked off easy by any passing predator. Well, Sparrow had certainly proved her wrong. Sparrow remembered her days in the box. She had sat there, mewing to any passing person, wide-eyed and scared, begging them to get her out of there. She wasn't fed often, and when she was it wasn't much. Sparrow had gotten many dirty looks from her mother from the window, and had actually started to believe her mother would kill her herself if Sparrow wasn't taken soon. So on that one rainy day when a man had actually picked Sparrow up and had started walking away, she thought she was going to a nice clean home with nice food and comfy couches. That was all she really wanted. But no, she was taken to a place where the only food was a bowl of kibble a day and whatever they could find laying around. The only couch was covered on trash and garbage. iI had been better than a card board box, though.
The gray and white fae looked up from her grooming at Onyx for a moment and found her gaze locked with his. When he looked away she found herself staring at her paws. What just happened... She thought to herself. The emotion in his eyes confused her, and when she went back to her grooming she found her fur standing on end from the intensity of the moment and hastened to put it back down. She thought the male torbie was being a bit over generous. Sparrow really was nothing more than a skinny femme. She was trying to survive, and maybe an older cat would have given up by then. She hadn't had the best life, and had only had one true friend, though they hadn't been as nice to her as Onyx was being. Her thoughts were interrupted by a crow being set down in front of her. She wasn't starving anymore, so the crow didn't look all that appetizing, but she might have eaten it if she had too. She took a sniff and wasn't surprised that it smelled of garbage and rotting things. She didn't want to say she wouldn't eat it, in case she hurt her only friend, but she would have tried to avoid eating it in the first place. "I'd try to eat around the feathers and skin as much as possible." There was no telling what kind of bugs could be crawling around on. "Other than that it might be okay." Good answer. She hadn't really said she was for eating it, but she hadn't exactly said she was against it either.

Onyx nodded. "I don't think of it as appetizing either. It's been hunting in trash, and I won't be any good after that..." he responded, pushing the bird away. He sniffed into the trash some more, and pulled out something for himself. It was the remaines of a sandwich. He wasn't to pleased with it, but it would do. He found something else, a chicken leg with some meat still on it, and put it near Sparrow. "If your hungry, you can have that if you want," he meowed, laying down across from her, but not too close.
He took a small bite of his sandwich and swallowed it. "So... uh, what brings you here?" Onyx meowed before taking another bite. He wondered what kind of past she had, and wondered if she was able to eat at all! He had forged on in his life, trying to claw his way back up when he was knocked down. He had no friends, no family. He was the last one tot keep his legacy alive. He wondered if he would be forgotten after his time was up, since no one was left to remember him.
He flicked the thought away. Onyx thought to much. He continued eating, listening for Sparrow's response. He made sure that his thoughts weren't going to wander off again.

Sparrow watched as Onyx pushed the crow away. She had only tasted a fresh kill once before, but that had been a mouse, not a crow. She swiped a paw over her ears to get any dirt hiding up there. Sparrow felt clean for the first time in ages, and she felt like she had escaped the jaws of death. She thought dying from starvation would make her seem weak to her mother, weaker anyways. Sparrow sniffed at the bone Onyx had put in front of her and her mouth watered at the smell of chicken meat. She pulled the bone closer with a paw and licked the bone to get a bit of the flavor. When she had found the left over meat she stripped it off the bone, trying to get all of it. She really needed the protein.
So... uh, what brings you here? Sparrow was in the process pf licking the bone for anything she'd missed when Onyx spoke. "In the dump or in Nenbrook?" He could mean either. It was a polite conversation starter, and Sparrow actually wasn't completely sure if he was just being nice and overly generous to her or if he wanted something. Earn her trust just to crush her hopes of an actual friend in the end? It didn't seem likely, but it was a possibility. "I'm in the dump because I was starving and it seemed like the best place to look for food. I'm in Nenbrook because I'd heard other cats talking and I didn't want to stay in the town I used to be in. I didn't want to be anywhere near my mother or that man that made me live in that place he used as a home. My mother might have tried to find me if I stayed there." The man was dead, so she didn't have to worry about him coming to find her. Her mother might still think she's alive an not want a child of hers to be as weak as Sparrow and living, thinking Sparrow would be a disgrace. Sparrow wasn't sure if she had her father's last name of her mother's. She didn't think her mother had stayed with her father long enough to find out his name, so she probably had her mother's. And her mother probably didn't want her name to be disgraced.

Onyx frowned. The fea was starving! And she had been abandoned by her mother! "I've had a rough life, too. My mother didn't care for me, or my siblings, and my dad din't deserve to fall for her. They were both killed by floods, and I was the only thing that kept my brothers and sisters alive was the skills I had been taught by dad. We all went our seperate ways eventually, and I don't know what happened to them. I was picked up off the street, and put in the pound. I escaped with everyone just before I was killed, and we all came to Nenbrooke. In my eyes, everyone but Twig has forgotten me, or doesn't even know about me..." he told Sparrow, his eyes clouding.
The thought struck him. He was a forgotten memory. His father, King of the Alley, forgotten. He strong, loyal, brave son Onyx Stargazer, forgotten. His family, himself, dust specks drifting through nowhere on the wind. He shook his head, clearing the thoughts away. He would have to get the memory alive again. Some day, some how. He pushed the remains of his sandwich into a pile of rubbish. He couldn't stop thinking about his family.
The sun had rosen from sunrise into noon by now. Onyx stood. "Do you need anything?" Onyx asked the grey and white cat, looking into the bright hazel depths of Sparrow's eyes, "I could get you a thrush, or a mouse, if you're still in need of food..." Or a friend... the spotted torbie tom added silently.

Sparrow swiveled her ears towards Onyx. Her heart filled with sympathy for the male torbie. His family was taken from him. All he truly loved was just gone one day, and he and his siblings were alone. In my eyes, everyone but Twig has forgotten me, or doesn't even know about me... "Oh, so that proves it now. I really am invisible." She knew about him, she wouldn't forget him. How could she, when he had saved her life. Sparrow smiled slightly. "At least your mother was probably kind to you. I was the only one in my litter, so she was the only family I had, and she didn't even want me as family. I never knew my father, but she always said that he wouldn't want me as a daughter, that no one would want me as a daughter. She said I'd die alone, young, and skinny. That no one would help me, and no one would ever want me as a mate. I had actually started to believe her at some point." She laughed slightly, but there was no humor. Her smile was wiped from her lips and her tail curled around her legs protectively. She had never opened up to anyone before. Those were her deepest secrets, the ones that had given her nightmares during her nights in that box on the street.
She had proven her mother wrong when that man picked her up. He had wanted her. But eventually she started to think that he would have picked her up if she was a healthy, well fed cat. he didn't pick her up because she was hungry and alone, he picked her up because she was there. because she was a cat. That's all he had really wanted out of her; a cat. Some of the males in that house with her had tried mating with her, had tried to make her bear kits, but she always too fast, too small, and too slippery. They could never catch her, and if they did they could never hold on. Of course of they worked together they could have caught her and held on, but they never did. She had overheard their conversations one night, saying that they wanted the 'prize' all to themselves. They had eventually given up, but had started saying that she probably wouldn't survive birth, because she was so weak and skinny, and if she did then the kits would be so weak they wouldn't survive.
Sparrow felt the warm sunlight on her fur as the sun broke free from the clouds. she smiled at Onyx and slowly shook her head when she caught his orange gaze. "I think I'll be fine now. I just need some rest and a little warmth." She was probably as comfortable as a cat could be in a dump at the moment, and as the sun warmed her pelt and with her belly full, she felt surprisingly...happy. She wondered if Onyx would leave now. She didn't really want him to leave, she liked his company, but if he wanted to go she wouldn't stop him.

Onyx had heard the fea's words while he had been daydreaming. He wanted to tell her that his mother had hated everyone of her kittens, but he kept his mouth shut. He should be lucky. He wasn't completely mistreated, and he had at least one caring parent, though he wasn't still alive.
After he had gotten Sparrow's response, he felt he should leave, but he couldn't move his paws to leave, and he couldn't say he should get going to the grey and white she-cat. He stood there, not knowing what to do next. Should he stay? He had nothing left to do in the dump, but he had nowhere to go if he left. He needed company, and a tour guide to show him around. Sparrow looked like she needed company...
They had just met, yet Onyx couldn't bring himself to leave her. He felt awkward, and shifted from paw to paw, starring at nothing. "Your not invisible Sparrow, you never were, and never will be in my eyes," he murmured. "I know we've just met, I shouldn't be feeling this. I never thought I would, and I really shouldn't... But what's even one good reason why I can't? I've never felt this before, but it can only be one thing... I LOVE YOU SPARROW BREEZEWING!!!" he meowed, yowling the last part. He smacked his tail over his mouth, realizing he had said that out loud. 'D**n it!' he thought. He hadn't meant for anyone to hear that. He turned around, haunched over, his back to Sparrow. His tail dropped to the ground, and he closed his eyes, head hanging. 'You've really done it this time,' his conscience taunted.
It was true. He had yowled his deepest, newest, most hidden secret in the entire universe into the heavens, in front of the one cat it was about. It was true, he loved the hazel-eyed, grey and white cat. He had never meant to feel this way for a long time to come. He opened his eyes, and lifted his head to twist it around and look at Sparrow, deep into the bright hazel depths of those beautiful eyes. He didn't know what to expect. His orange orbs were filled with fear that he would be rejected, panic because he had said it aloud, and a hint of love and mourning. He loved her, no doubt about it, and she was the second cat he had met in Nenbrooke.
Right from the start, he had felt something. He normally wouldn't give a crap about any cat, and his sharp tongue would normally stop him from meeting any friends. He wondered if it was his destiny to love her, to be the hero in this abused she-cats fairy-tale, to help her through hard times, and possibly be helped in return. To find a one true friend, one to stick to through thick and thin, through good and bad, until a tragic even that would tear them apart. One decision would determine his entire future, and her own; would she accept his love for her, and grasp it as if it were her own?

Sparrow wasn't looking at Onyx, she was thinking, looking at nothing really, just her paws. Her ears, however, were searching. Searching for fading paw steps. She didn't think Onyx really wanted to stick around with her. He might think that he'd be taking care of her when ever she needed food, or that he'd have to save her if she was attacked. Maybe that she'd slow him down because she's so weak. She didn't think Onyx would think that, but she didn't know what went on inside the torbie's head. Someone can seem completely sane and pleasant at first, and then the next thing you knew they could be babbling on about blood and death and having the need to kill. She knew what that was like, meeting someone like that.
The gray fae wondered why Onyx hadn't left yet, and turned to him when she heard him talking. She was surprised when he started talking about how he felt, and she had an odd feeling that he was talking about her. When his last sentence rang out her eyes widened and her ears shot straight up. Oh Hell... She thought. What the heck was happening. She certainly didn't know. She knew nothing about love. She'd never been in love before, and she'd never felt it for that matter, so how was she supposed to know what it's like? She wasn't even sure if you could fall in love that fast. She'd only heard confusing stories about love from an old pregnant female who's lover had been killed somehow, and she had gone insane. The female had cried during the night and had rambled on about her mate and claimed that she'd killed him herself. When she was somewhat sane she would tell Sparrow of love and amazing it is to be in love, but Sparrow had never really dreamed of being in love. Her main goal was to survive for as long as possible, not to have a mate and kittens. She wasn't even sure she wanted kittens.
Sparrow's felt prickled with embarrassment. Onyx seemed embarrassed too, like he hadn't meant to say that, or he hadn't meant to say it out loud at least. She had to do something. So, she slowly got to her paws and quietly walked over to him. She sat down next to the torbie and got as close to his ear as she could. She didn't know what she was going to say. She knew what he wanted to hear, that she loved him too, but she knew that it wasn't going to happen anytime too soon. "Onyx, I've heard that love is unpredictable, that it's giving, that it's joyful, but also that it's unforgiving and hurtful. I'm not going to say I love you, because I don't, but..." What could she say to make this right? Sadly, she already knew. Nothing. She could only make it slightly less hurtful and hope he took it the right way. "But maybe I could learn to love you, some day. I have never loved, and I have never felt loved, so I will need some time, if you're willing to give it." She thought he would walk away, saying something about how he didn't want to wait.
She was making promises, to herself and to him, that she might not be able to keep. But she couldn't let her first chance to feel love and be happy just slip away and disappear, and then want it back when it's too late. But her decision might just end up hurting her and him in the end. "I've seen what losing love can do to cats, and I don't want you to end up like that. But I also don't want to end up alone out there with kittens in my belly that I might not be able to feed."

Onyx felt his heart break at the she-cat's words. He frowned. " I know it is, but-" the torbie broke off, not knowing what to say. his hopes might be over, his hope of finding love, or at least a good friend, lost. His eyes fell down on his paws, head hanging. He was about to get up, say good-bye, and leave painfully, when she added; "But maybe I could learn to love you, some day. I have never loved, and I have never felt loved, so I will need some time, if you're willing to give it."
Onyx lifted his head again, his gaze soft. "I am willing," he vowed to her. He meant what he said, he really did. He felt as though he woould do anything for her, no matter what the cost.
"I've seen what losing love can do to cats, and I don't want you to end up like that. But I also don't want to end up alone out there with kittens in my belly that I might not be able to feed."
"But I'm not going to end up like that, and I'd look after you, and make sure that wouldn't happen! I would do anything to prevent that from happening! I would make sure you were fed and protected, and I wouldn't let anything happen to us or the kittens if we had any. I am promising this to you, and I barely know if you love me, or even like me!!!" he protested desperately. He really would make sure she was fed and looked after. His eyes were pleading, the sunset gold depths truethful and begging. His tail limply layed on the ground, and his powerful, broad, muscular sholders sagged. "You're the only one who has even spoken to me besides rude a** Tempest, and a dog, that I don't even know is still alive..." his voice merely a whispered murmur, and his head was lowered slightly, his ears limply hanging sideways, reflecting his disapointment and sadness. "Sometimes I just feel like the lonelyest cat in Nenbrooke..."

He's willing. That was the first step. Now to see if he's still as willing in a little time. All Sparrow needed was some time and patience from him. "I've also heard that love takes many different forms. It can feel like anger or hate sometimes, and sometimes it can feel like you're absolutely in love with someone and will never want anyone else one day, and then the next all those previous feelings are gone." She had really picked up a lot from the crazy old she-cat. Strange things happen when there's nothing better to do.
Sparrow listened to Onyx vow that he'd take care of her and protect her. "I believe you, Onyx, and of course I like you, how could I not? It's just...you say this now, but how will you feel in a few days, or a few weeks? And don't say you'll feel the same, because I know that you don't know that, and won't know that until that time is here." That was what she was worried about. She didn't expect to be alone in a few days time because Onyx got bored and left. All she did with that is see it as a possibility, and that's all it is to her, a possibility. She also knows that it's a possibility that Onyx will still be in love with her in a few days, but that's more than a possibility. That's a hope. She hopes for that.
She caught his gaze and the pleading in his eyes. The truthfulness. he really would give anything to have her. He looked so sad, and she felt she had something to do with it. She licked him gently on the cheek to try and cheer him up. "Please stop acting all depressed. It's absolutely killing me because I know I had something to do with it." She paused and smiled slightly. Sighing, she said, "You know, I think I might be more trouble than I'm worth. If I hadn't chosen to come to the dump today we might have never met and you wouldn't be begging me to believe that you love me when I already know your telling the truth and do believe you." A smile played upon her lips as she stared into his orange colored eyes.

"You know, I think I might be more trouble than I'm worth. If I hadn't chosen to come to the dump today we might have never met and you wouldn't be begging me to believe that you love me when I already know your telling the truth and do believe you."
Her words were true. "You wouldn't be any trouble," he murmured. That was the only thing he doubted. She wouldn't be any trouble. No trouble. Nada. Zip, zero, zilch. But, she was right that if she hadn't come, he wouldn't have met her. But that was a what if. She did come, and that was all that mattered, but not in this reasoning, he realized, because it was true.
"Then I'll stand by your side for a while. We'll see if your words are true," the spotted torbie meowed, no hostility in his tone, or his eyes. He was in his nuetral state of being. He stood, and got behind Sparrow, his orange gaze set on her, waiting for what she would do next.
