Calamus, in all honesty, had absolutely no idea how he got here. Of course, he'd been in all places (well, as many places as possible), but he'd never been here. It was strange, a road not really big enough for those big human contraptions, which most roads were for (he'd learned this from seeing many a cat run over by those foul monsters). The sun cast its glow on his back, almost making him purr at the feeling. Because, indeed it was a very nice feeling.
It was that kind of day, where you just wanted to lay down and take a nice, long nap. Or find a snack, and sleep under the shade of a tree, with a full stomach. But, curiosity kept him from doing just that. The urge to follow the road, to see where it lead, was too much. So, he did just that, the thrill of adventure and the warmth of the sun putting him in a wonderful mood.
He walked, and walked, his only company the sound of his paws hitting the ground each time. It was a rather long road, though he didn't mind all that much. He was feeling great! He'd always preferred new sights, and this was exactly what he'd been looking for. The sounds of crickets, and birds was music to his ears. And when he was hungry, he knew he'd be able to find something simply.
He knew, at that moment, lost as he was, nothing could bring him down.
