History:
Melody was born in an animal shelter. Her mother was a ginger tabby cat, the father was unknown. When she didn't need milk from her mother, her mom was adopted out and she was left alone in her cage. Of course, when she was old enough and her eyes were officially red and it was confirmed that she was an albino, there were only a few people that even looked at her. You would think with her being so unique and strange, that people would be lining up down the street to adopt her, apparently not. So, she grew past the kitten stage and into adulthood.
At this point, the shelter was intent on giving Melody a loving home. When anybody asked to see a cat, Melody would be their first choice. Though, very few people took any interest in her. She went about her life bored and lonely, she felt like a rejection. But, she also had a very weird aspect of her. Ever since she could open her eyes she saw colors with every sound. If there was a name in the air she saw different colors and shapes for each name. Her name, Melody, was a yellow swirl. Cat was an orange triangle. This little aspect made her very ADD and didn’t help with her getting an owner.
Finally, when she was two years old somebody had come and adopted her. Whenever he spoke she saw black rectangles with red stripes. This had just made her not like him, black was her least favorite of colors. He had a very strange look about him that made her dislike him so very much. When he had finished the paperwork he picked her up a little too rough and gripped her too hard. This made her hurt and angry, so she wrapped around and scratched his arm. He screamed in anguish and dropped her. He picked her up before she could even think about running and the moment he had gotten two his car he put a collar and a leash on her and kicked her. He beat her until she bled. Then, he took off the collar and threw her in the dump. She sat there bleeding until morning, knowing not how to stop the bleeding.
In the morning when she woke up her wounds were crusty and they looked infected. She was injured terribly and the blood had stained her fur a light pinkish-red. She sighed, stood up and headed to the woods in search of some water to clean her wounds and the blood from her fur.
Personality:
Melody is a very quiet cat. Seeing colors and shapes with everything keeps her in her head and she doesn't say much. It takes a minute for her to warm up to a cat, any cat for that matter. Most cats seem to stay away from her because of her red eyes, she believes most cats do this because they think she's evil or possesed or something like that. Melody avoids all cat contact with fear of being embarassed and hated by others. She makes herself isolated and away from others. When she first meets somebody she's very cold hearted and mean. She either says something mean or nothing at all before she warms up to you.
Melody is very sarcastic and silly. After she warms up to you she's always cracking jokes and being goofy. Everybody's so suprized to see this side of her, it seems uncanny. Because of her synesthesia she is very ADD because she's always seeing colors and it is very distracting and nerveracking. Every time a new sound appears a new flash of color and a shape appears, sometimes it's so distracting that it can put her in danger. It's very scary and strange, and she doesn't understand how to cope with it. Then again, she wouldn't know how to go about without it.
Melody enjoys to learn new things. She is very intelligent and has probably the sharpest memory in the land. Since she can associate every sound with a specific color and shape, it makes remembering things very easy and quick. All sounds are different, so all colors are unique and different. Melody is usually very independent and headstrong. She doesn't let anything get in her way, she speaks her mind and stands up for what she believes in. She does have a weak spot in her heart for her friends and family members. When somebody gets in her way and is mean to her, she can get rather vicious. Those years of being rejected and isolated really made her sort of demented.
When it comes to romance, Melody is not the one to get that attatched to the male sex. Sure, she's friendly and can be a big flirt but she is not the one to be all friendly with the toms. She believes in all the superstitions (except the 'when a black cat crosses your path it means bad luck' or whatever that one is) and she is very philosical when she wants to be. If she runs into a huge, over-the-top flirter, she gets really angry because she feels offended and taken aback by it all.
