Name: Thor Hawkeye Gender: She-cat Date of Birth: July 13th, 2006 Height: 23 centimeters Sexual Preference: Bi Status: Not Spayed
Coat Color: ruddy Abyssinian(what would I call this? Brown?) Coat Pattern: ticked tabby Eye Color: Gold Fur Length: Short Appearance Extra: Scars and such.
History: Abandoned in a box, Thor's only memories of a family was a couple images of her mother and a beige-colored carpet. Otherwise, she's been on her own from the time she could remember. She brawled the neighborhood moggies and toms into teaching her things, or begged and pleaded and looked cute. She hated begging though. She felt like a burden, and somehow "knew" they were only looking after her because she was cute and looked hopeless. She learned to hunt, where to find necessities, and that was all. Thor was off and learning fast.
However, Thor was not Thor yet. Thor was "That Ruddy Gold-Eyed Kitten" or some variation thereof. She didn't have a name, last or first, and was bitter about the whole subject. The cat just wasn't very creative with that sort of thing. She couldn't pull off the cool, calm, collected "I named myself" without it sounding cheesy or fake.
Thor got a reputation as a big bully. She couldn't stand losing to anyone, and trained herself up smart to bowl over the neighborhood toms-- those her size, anyway. Older cats had better things to do. Because of this, Thor the ruddy little she-cat got prime hunting spots and was largely not bothered. Being shunned didn't bother her though-- it was a freakin' privilege! She sunbathed and hunted lots of birds from rooftops and trees, although she preferred the roofs. They were wider and easier to get onto. She became a quick fan of heights.
Hunting on a thatched rooftop outside the city one day, the thatching at one part collapsed, sending a startled Thor down into a very religious yet primitive family's attic. Hiding behind the billows of the boy's father's black-smithing hearth, the boy picked up the soot-covered cat, and said "A little Thor-friend! A little hawk-eyed Thor-friend!"
So Thor was kept and fed fresh milk and allowed access to the entire barn's worth of mice. She didn't quite know how to treat the children, but came to care for them at least as much as an older brother cares for a younger one-- grudging, at times, but still kind. They pulled her tail and she nipped and scratched often, but it was definitely something for the ruddy kitten.
The little blonde girl called her "Little Hawk-eyed cat" and the boy called her "Little Thor-friend" so when Thor left, she knew her name. At first she considered "Hawk Thorfriend" because she thought the comparison to a hawk went very nicely with her fox-like look and raptor-like stare. However, she called herself Thor Hawkeye, and her last name went for her eyes, and the hair of the nice family who cared for her. She gained a limited understanding of the many gods and goddesses and who-knows-what-else from her stay, and Thor didn't sound half-bad either.
Personality: Brash. Thor ain't going to be polite always, but she's not interested in a fight all the time. She doesn't know how to be tactful, and is angered at the drop of the hat. She's quick to jump to the defense, and it doesn't take much to rile her up. Needless to say, she's not the best team player, and often goes solo for this reason. She is introverted, and does mull over her actions afterwards. She often feels guilty when she cares for another cat, that she treated them badly or said something stupid.
She is very much a leader, and hates to follow others(except in the most rare of exceptions). She doesn't want to take anyone else's word, and is fearless once she gets going. She has a protective and somewhat mother-bear streak in her, although not obvious at first sight. Thor is passionate in that she isn't apathetic- she reacts furiously and full-blast, and often on impulse. She tends to brood over things, and is pessimistic.
As for favorites, likes and dislikes, Thor tends to be quite set and opinionated. She likes birds and small mammals, but thinks that fish and frogs are not worth the time and effort, even though she doesn't mind a nice swim in the summer. She's not one for grooming, but flattens her coat in a iffy-- she actually doesn't like to appear scruffy and unkempt. She loves hunting in the morning hours; it means she hunts at dawn when birds and people are sleeping, and then enjoys a sun bath after her meal. She settles her arguments with squabbles and scrimmages, and so far hasn't lost more than a handful. Her sense of pride, though, is what makes her come back and demand rematches until she earns a satisfying result for that ego and pride of hers. She hates to show her ego being bruised in any way. In this way, she attempts to become apathetic.. although whether it's worked on her temper is another question.
However, this is only her outer husk, and partially her inner one too. She does care about other cats, and she does want to connect... just isn't very good at it! To make up for herself, she would follow a cat she trusted to the end of the earth; something never done for herself in her kittenhood. When she doesn't want to get angry, she is just quiet and usually just gets angry with herself. She is actually very selfless and self-sacrificing, even if it's fueled by a guilty conscience. She is recklessly independent and territorial, and is sometimes afraid of letting someone get too close so she'll get hurt emotionally. Thor can take claws, but not harsh words.
