Vivid cerulean orbs glow in the midnight moonlight. They disappeared for a split second as the feline blinked, but reappeared right after. His tail twitched as a mosquito landed softly on the tip, and he flung it off with ease. In the far distance he heard the roaring of the waterfall, but in the close background was the comforting burbling of water over stones. The brute raised one leg, preparing to move from below the canopy and into the field where he could gaze up into the starry night. His ivory bodice moved slowly and stiffly, he was in no hurry right? He snorted. What was he doing here? There was no one in this world that even cared for him. That even nearly glanced at him. Why would he be waiting for anyone? Especially here?
Not that everything is wrong. But nothings alright.
The white tom cat's forehead wrinkled and his eyes turned to slits, but he continued to move toward the sky. Stars appeared above him, and he lay down again, resting his nervous, tired body. He looked around for some one, no one in particular. But maybe just another bored, lonely cat. One he could talk to and tell them all his problems to. Maybe one he could even fall in love with. Would tonight be the night? No, of coarse not. I've been lonely 2 whole years. Why would tonight make any difference at all?
Do you love me tonight? Do you love me tonight? Do you love me tonight? Do you love me?
He glanced up at the strangely light midnight sky. It was summer, so of coarse it still looked light out. It looked like morning when really it was almost bed time. He frowned. He hated summer; the light, the heat, and the population. The population being counted only where he goes, which is mainly around the water, where he can stay cool and clean. Although this brute was young, he acted very mature for his age. Doesn't play around often, gets things done, and minds to himself.
And I found you, flightless bird.
Wind blew over the stream, bringing with it the comforting, wet smell. Jarrah closed his eyes and enjoyed the coolness against his skin. He closed his eyes, and enjoyed the darkness at the same time. He stifled a sigh, and reopened his eyes as he caught a whiff of another feline. Not long after, he heard the bushes ruffle. Was the someone here? He didn't know. Should he know? Should he care? His mouth slid sideways, almost as a half smile, half frown.

Lavender slid up behind a bush, it branches rustling. An ivory tom had caught her eye. She thought she recognized him, but she couldn't be sure. The dappled white cat kept low as her crystal ice blue eyes peered through the branches. Her heart raced as the tom's eyes melted the bush infront of her. The shadows that made her coat dark now disappeared as she slid out from her hiding spot and her fur became more silver as the moonlight grazed upon it.
Nervously, Lavender introduced herself, "Hi... I'm Lavender Mistpaw. Sorry... I-uh... Didn't mean to spy..." the calico mewed, her nervous gaze darting around the moonlit clearing to make sure nobody was there and looked at the tom, meeting his indigo-blue eyes.

Jarrah looked over to where a blotched fae stepped out from behind a bush. He narrowed his eyes and flicked his tail, both just barely visable in the dimly lit field. He stood up, preparing himself for a fight, when he noticed the scared and helpless look on her face. He cocked his head to the side, he wondered if she thought he would hurt her. Of coarse he wouldn't. Hello there, Lavender, I'm Jarrah. Jarrah Eclipsemoon. I don't mind your interuption, I needed some company anyway. He bowed down to her, being a gentlemen was his specialty.
Don't turn away Don't try to blame Don't close your eyes Don't turn out the lights
He whisped over to her side, light on his feet. He sniffed her shoulder instinctively, but when he tried to back away, he couldn't. He breathed in deeply, inhaling the wonderful, unique smeel of the fae. He couldn't help but wonder what the she-cat was thinking, hopefully he didnt appear to her as a freak show. He backed away painfully, closing his eyes to remember the smell of the fae. He couldn't help but ask. What are you thinking right now?
So why can’t I just tell you that I care We’re not going anywhere
He sat down slowly, and cocked his head to the side once again. He slid down into an uncomfortable position, but he was too afraid to move. He was speechless. Thoughtless. But emotionful. What were these feelings he contained? Surely this wouldn't be the one. The one cat he fell in love with and lived happily ever after with, like a fairy tail. Sure, she was beautiful, she was kind, she seemed sweet, and smelled amazing. But so soon... yet so long at the same time.
What's the worst that I could say? Things are better if I stay So long and good night So long and good night
He awaited her answer in silence. It seemed like a whole century had passed by the time she answered. Was it just him? To which question was he asking that to...? Did it last that long to her too? No, it was to Does she feel these emotions too? He sighed hopelessly, and winced as he realized that maybe she didn't feel the same way about him. Maybe this wasn't the end of the world. Maybe it would be ok. Maybe.

The calico dipped her head in embarrasement at the politeness that he had. Lavender kept her warm gaze on Jarrah as he sniffed her. And she snuck a whiff of his luxirious scent, too. She almost raced up to him as he backed oway, afraid that he would leave, but she held herself back. Suddenly, he asked her a question:
What are you thinking right now?
For once, the she-cat couldn't answer with words. She paused for a secound, stunned by his query, and then ran up to him, rubbing her cheek against his shoulder, sensing he felt the same way. "I think that we were meant to be together," she whispered dinto his ear.
{{ooc~It's awesome! Thanks!}}

The sweet fae's scent waspted up through his nostrils as she raced forward towards him. Normally, he would have been frightened had a stranger cat done that. But this time, it was different. He looked in Lavender's eyes, similar to his own, and a smile widened on his face. He knocked the toroiseshell fae over onto her back, and he rasped his tongue over her ears, all the way to her shoulders. In between breaths, he whispered, I'm thinking so, too.
Never think What's in your heart What's in our home That's all I want
He rested under the moonlight with Lavender, both laying in silence, staring up at the crescent moon. The moonlight danced on their fur, giving them a light silver overlay. He twisted his bodice to puzzle into her structure, and soon they were intertwined completely; tail and legs. He brought her head down to rest on his chest, and he licked her forhead as she did so.
You'll learn to hate me But you still call me baby Oh Lord Just call me by my name
So, what are you doing here this late at night? He thought he might as well get to know her before much else happened between them. So he changed the subject to a fairly commen quistion, sorta. He disintwined his bodice from her own, and sat up, now watching the smooth river waves rub against the ridge of rocks. The white brute faced the femme, thier blue gazes melting in a light liquid pool, mixing with the river's blue tint.

The dappled she-cat let out a mew of happiness as she was knocked over by the tom and twined her tail with his, licking his neck and cheek, letting out a purr of delight. As he dislodged himself from her, she rolled over on her belly and licked her messed up fur and looked up at him, her eyes filled with love. So, what are you doing here this late at night? "I really don't know. I just felt like taking a moonlight stroll. Maybe get something to save for breakfast. I'm not very good at hunting, and I could have found you by falling out of a tree if I wasn't careful..." she meowed as she strolled towards the stream. She couched beside the bank, her hindlegs bunched and ready to pounce, her tail swishing silently through the air. Her eyes caught a dark grey movement, and her icy eyes locked onto it. The shape paused infront of Lavender, and one of her black-toed white paws flashed out and a starlit silver shape flew out of the black and silver water, and landed on the bank, sprinkling the two cats with cold water droplets. The tortishell pounced on it, her unsheathed claws piercing it body, making it slowy stop squirming to reveal a fish big enough for two. "Wah lah! A fish for two." She sheathed her claws and stepped of it, Dipping her head to Jarrah, signaling that she wanted him to eat first. "And why might you be out here so late?" she asked.

A purr rose in Jarrah's throat, and he closed his eyes in enjoyment. He laughed as the she-cat stated that he might have found her by her falling out of a tree. Wah lah! A fish for two. He smiled to himself as he watched the hyper fae catch a nice golen fish. Nice catch! He shouted as she stepped lightly off the fish.
Love of mine some day you will die But I'll be close behind I'll follow you into the dark No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white Just our hands clasped so tight Waiting for the hint of a spark If Heaven and Hell decide That they both are satisfied Illuminate the NOs on their vacancy signs If there's no one beside you When your soul embarks Then I'll follow you into the dark
He closed his eyes as his mouth closed on the cold scales of the fish, but then turned warm from the luke blood inside. He took another small bite, and passed it to the tortie fae who was staring happily at her new mate. And why might you be out here so late? He finished chewing his fish before he replied, one rule a male must always follow when with a female.
In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule I got my knuckles bruised by a lady in black And I held my tongue as she told me "Son fear is the heart of love" So I never went back If Heaven and Hell decide That they both are satisfied Illuminate the NOs on their vacancy signs If there's no one beside you When your soul embarks Then I'll follow you into the dark You and me have seen everything to see From Bangkok to Calgary
Well, lately I've been sorta depressed and just looking for someone to help me along with life. Someone who can look after me, and make sure I dont kill myself. He paused, and the frown on his face turned to a soft smile. He looked deep into Lavender's opts, the cerulean gazes matching each other. And now I've found her.
And the soles of your shoes are all worn down The time for sleep is now It's nothing to cry about 'cause we'll hold each other soon In the blackest of rooms If Heaven and Hell decide That they both are satisfied Illuminate the No's on their vacancy signs If there's no one beside you When your soul embarks Then I'll follow you into the dark Then I'll follow you into the dark
He set his bodice beside his mate, and he started licking her ears. He lay his head upon his shoulder, her breathing moving her bodice up and down in a comforting, soothing motion. He closed his orbs and lay still and unmoving. The ivory brute drifted into sleep, dreaming mostly of Lavender, and how bad he wanted to get her pregnant. He awoke suddenly with a flinch, but settled down soon after.

Nice catch!!! Lavender was humbled by his praise. she let out a small purr. After he took the first bite, she began to take a few bites, too, let's the succulent juices bathe her tongue before she swallowed them. She swallowed her most recent bite and raised her head to listen to Jarrah as he began speaking. Well, lately I've been sorta depressed and just looking for someone to help me along with life. Someone who can look after me, and make sure I don't kill myself. She had listened intently and her ocean blue orbs reflected her sympathy for the snow colored tom. She felt her paws tingle as his warm gaze met hers, and he said, And now I've found her.
When they had finished eating, the dappled feline pushed the carcass of the fish to the side, and layed down as her new love layed down beside her. The calico got into a comfortable position and when Jarrah had settled, too, she gently rasped her pink tongue around his ears. She waited a little bit until he was asleep, and she finally rested her head on the moonlit grass. Suddenly, Jarrah flinched awake, but Lavender was too deep in sleep for it to wake her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When dawn arrived, Lavender was no longer beside Jarrah. The dappled she-cat was up in the trees, trying to get breakfast for them both. She timed a jump with when the next gust of wind arrived, so a fat pigeon sitting on a branch in the next tree would just think the wind had caused it's perch to sway, instead of her weight landing on it. Slowly, she lightly stalked towards it, and 2 feet away, she bunched her powerful hind legs, and pounced. The bird saw her coming, and flew off before she could reach it. She yowled, and saved herself from falling by perilously clinging to the branch, eyes wide with terror as she clung, trembling.
Crick...
'Crap...' she thought.
CRACK!!!
The branch made a terrifying sound as it broke from the tree, taking Lavender with it as it fell. She went limp, and hit the ground, with a few bruises, but unhurt. The big branch hit the ground with a thump, narrowly missing the poor torishell as she darted out of it's way, to crouch nearby, eyes wide and shivering as she took in what had happened. Her dappled fur was fluffled up so she looked twice her size.
Jarrah awoke to find Lavender's bedding empty and cold. He raised his head, wondering what the large crack that had awoken him had been. He looked around, his cerrulean orbs large and round as they landed on the large tree limb that had fallen from the massive tree not far from him. Sitting a ways away from the scene was a fluffed up tortoiseshell, sapphire eyes round and full of fear, and gazing intently on the tree.
Drain the pressure from the swelling The sensations overwhelming Give me a long kiss goodnight and everything will be alright Tell me I wont feel a thing So give me Novacaine
Lavender! He shouted to the startled fae across the field. The ivory tom raced to her side, smoothing her fur down and talking to her softly. Its ok. You're okay. No one's hurt. Can you tell me what happened? He moved he slowly away from the horrid scene, her fur begining to lie flat.
Out of body and out of mind Kiss the demons out of my dreams I get the funny feeling, that's alright Jimmy says it better than here, I'll tell you why
He cocked his head sideways, his eyes still round and understanding. He predicted that she had been enjoying a nice morning, high in the tree and the branch couldn't hold her weight as she went further down it. But perhaps not. He rasped his tongue over her ears as she settled down and hoped it would help calm her. He stopped then, holding her face with one of his paws, he turned her gaze toward his opts. Both blue eyes stared into the other for a minute, until Jarrah broke the bond as he reached in to hug his mate.
Jarrah's warm touch soothed the calico, and she tryed to tell him what had happened, but her shock hadn't gone yet. The tom gently nudged her head do she could look him in the eyes, but she quickly looked to her paws. She was embarrased that her mate was seeing her this way. "I was trying to catch a bird for our breakfast, but it flew away before I reached it, and the branch broke under my weight, and I fell, and the branch almost crushed me," Lavender's mew was quiet and slightly broken up. As the snowy tom hugged her, she took a few deep breaths, calming her self down as she buried her face into his soft ivory fur. His scent combined with hers, and she felt... In love. It was undescibable. She wanted to ask him something, and she felt it might be time. She backed away a little bit, and scuffled her forepaws. "Do you think we might, uh, be able to... Mate soon? I've been wanting kittens of my own for quite a while now, and I thought, you might want some too?"
Jarrah purred slowly and heavily, enjoying the quiet moment he had with his new mate. They had only just met, yet it seemed as if a whole month had past since they met. He turned his blue gaze to her gorgeous optics, and he watched as she closed them, almost drifting to sleep. He was almost startled when she spoke, breaking the silence. I was trying to catch a bird for our breakfast, but it flew away before I reached it, and the branch broke under my weight, and I fell, and the branch almost crushed me.
I dreamed I was missing You were so scared But no one would listen 'Cause no one else cared After my dreaming I woke with this fear What am I leaving When I'm done here? So if you're asking me I want you to know When my time comes Forget the wrong that I've done Help me leave behind some
The white tom winced as he heard the explanation. That was dangerous. Why would you risk you're life for me? It was of coarse a rhetorical question; he already knew the answer. Because she loves me. A smile tugged at his lips, but he fought it back. He waited patiently for her to say something, but nothing came. It was peaceful for another few minutes, enjoying the wildlife noises. The crickets buzzed, the birds chirped; the water run swiftly, burbling across rocks; every once in a while there'd be a call of an owl. He closed his eyes. This is what he loved about the forest.
Reasons to be missed And don't resent me And when you're feeling empty Keep me in your memory Leave out all the rest, leave out all the rest Don't be afraid I've taken my beating I've shed but I'm me I'm strong on the surface Not all the way through I've never been perfect But neither have you So if you're asking me I want you to know
He could tell that Lavender had something on her mind. She kept moving uneasily, as if she wasn't comfortable; either with her positioning or mind. That's when she spoke. Do you think we might, uh, be able to... Mate soon? He froze, his whole body tensing up. Although, the fae had removed from his grasp and stepped away for the question, he could tell that she noticed his movement. Everything around the brute went quiet. The crickets didn't buzz. The birds didn't chirp. The stream seemed to have frozen in place. And no owl was heard. Or maybe it was just him. He was dazed by the question, yes, but he didn't know he would take it this bad. No wonder she was tense before. He blinked his eyes, changing the appearance from confused, to love.
When my time comes Forget the wrong that I've done Help me leave behind some Reasons to be missed Don't resent me And when you're feeling empty Keep me in your memory Leave out all the rest, leave out all the rest Forgetting all the hurt inside You've learned to hide so well Pretending someone else can come And save me from myself I can't be who you are When my time comes
I've been wanting kittens of my own for quite a while now, and I thought, you might want some too? She muttered the ending strangely slow, and quiet. Or did it just seem that way? A shiver crossed through him. He'd never mated with anyone before. Was that the reason he was feeling this urge to curl up and cry? He looked into Lavender's eyes. Was he ready for this? Yes. He told himself. Yes. Yes. YES.
Forget the wrong that I've done Help me leave behind some Reasons to be missed Don't resent me And when you're feeling empty Keep me in your memory Leave out all the rest, leave out all the rest Forgetting all the hurt inside You've learned to hide so well Pretending someone else can come And save me from myself I can't be who you are I can't be who you are
This time, it was his turn to stumble and stutter. I-I-I... He had to pause to regain his correct speech. I... don't kn-know what t-to say... He looked up at the fae, sadness and confusion clouding his eyes. How would she feel if he said no? He wouldn't want to hurt her feelings... But would he really want a family of his own to care for? A tiny voice inside of him stirred. Yes! It shouted, although it seemed more like a squeak. It kept getting louder. And louder. And louder. He squirmed unusually, trying to get away from something. Was it the voice that said yes, or no? He cleared his throat. He realized just then, as Lavender stared hopefully up at him with her round cerulean eyes, that he would do anything to please her. Yes. He replied slowly, but surely.
Lavender felt her heart raced as the silence stretched. She felt her hopes soar as he opened his mouth to speak; I-I-I... I... don't kn-know what t-to say... Even though she was still a statue, she knew the answer. 'He's going to say no... He's gonna say noooo! You never should have asked!!! You could have spared yourself alot of pain, but noooo. You just had to ask!!!' her consious told her, making her want to cry, but she stayed put, her expression unreadable. Then, after the world slowed down for a few precious moments, he spoke again; Yes. Lavender almost freaked out. 'HE SAID YES!!!! HE SAID YEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!' Lavender didn't show very much of her iner excitment, but she spang up and rushed up to her mate again, hugging him and twining her tail with his. "We're going to be parents." Lavender whispered, half to herself. She felt a tear of joy roll down her cheek as she closed her eyes, burying herself in his soft, warm, thick, ivory fur. "We're going to be parents."((I made a nice closer. Do you wanna start the mating thread? I don't mind whether it's graphic or not.))
Jarrah smiled as the calico looked up at him with her round blue eyes. His heart seemed light enough to float away in the wind. Was it because of the scary thought of entering parenthood? Or was he just sooo excited to be a father? Maybe he would never know. The ivory tom bent down to lick the tricolored fae's shoulder, his eyes closed and he enjoyed the quiet moment.
Fumbling his confidence And wondering why the world has passed him by Hoping that he's bid for more than arguments And failed attempts to fly
We're going to be parents. He grinned even wider than before as she said this now. He opened his mouth to speak, but he was so speechless and happy, nothing came out. He just closed it and watched Lavender's face turn from anxious to happy to, well, something that would be the look on your face if it was the greatest day in the word. Jarrah mimicked the last look on her face, the pure joy one, and finally he could speak again.
We were meant to live for so much more Have we lost ourselves? Somewhere we live inside Somewhere we live inside
Yes. Yes we are. They stared at each other for a long time. Jarrah thinkning about the kittens on the way, Lavender thinking about, well, who knows what. Jarrah smirked at his little thought. He pictured little tricolored fluffballs racing around tackling each other and growling playfully. The thought made him laugh a little.
We were meant to live for so much more Have we lost ourselves? Somewhere we live inside
He moved closer to his mate, preparing himself for what was about to happen. he closer he got, the more he realized he wanted to do it. He took a deep breath, and closed his eyes; it seemed as if he did that a lot these days. He snuggled with her for a few seconds, then got to work. He panted heavily as they mated quietly. The background noises seemed silent as well. The usual bird chirping slowed, the water trickled lighter, the wind didn't pass through the branches; everything was hush, except for the occasional moan. He worried about hurting the fae below him, for he'd never done thise before. Although she moaned deeply every once in awhile, he didn't think it was because it hurt. He felt the need to let out a sigh, or moan, or some sort of noise, just because he enjoyed it.
We want more than this world's got to offer We want more than this world's got to offer We want more than the wars of our fathers And everything inside screams for second life
He slowed, relaxing a bit, and just layed upon her. He smiled out his moving, panting mouth. He felt as if he should sa something, but he didn't know what to say. The only thing that came to mind was to ask if she was ok. But of coarse she was ok. He swallowed the lump in his throat. Nobody's perfect. He climbed off the she-cat, staring strait into her beautiful optics. Are.... you ok...? He cocked his head to the side, his eyes full of expression. What was it? Love.
She's got a smile that it seems to me Reminds me of childhood memories Where everything Was as fresh as the bright blue sky Now and then when I see her face She takes me away to that special place And if I'd stare too long I'd probably break down and cry
Lavender steadied herself, readying herself for what was to happen next. She relaxed as he positioned himself, her mind carried away by what was happening. The feeling of the event was stronger than she thought, and she realised what true love really was. Her mind drifted, the silence of the air seemed to call to her, love was definitely in the air, and for the first time, she knew it was there. Most cats had no clue what this fealing felt like, she realized, and she had only heard of two cats in all of Nenbrooke getting this far, to be mothers.
Sweet child o' mine Sweet love of mine
The moment seemed over in a flash. Her mind refocused on reality. The quiet flow of water over rocks and pebbles was audible once again, the chirping of small birds, it was all there again. Her back still felt warm where Jarrah had touched, and her dappled fur was warmed by the sun's afternoon rays. She was speechless, and felt light as a feather floating gown a creek, or trailing through the breeze.
She's got eyes of the bluest skies As if they thought of rain I hate to look into those eyes And see an ounce of pain Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place Where as a child I'd hide And pray for the thunder And the rain To quietly pass me by
"Are... you ok?" The calico almost missed the ivory tom's query. She rested her blue eyes on her mate. "Never better," she whispered, breathing the words as she nuzzled into Jarrah's fur.
Sweet child o' mine Sweet love of mine
