She had to admit, the show that nature had put on last night had scared her to death. The rolling echos of thunder had moved across the blackened sky, as lightning lit up the heavens. Alpha had cowered under a shelf of rock, jutting out from the hillside like a domed shelter. Her green eyes had been squeezed shut, trembling after each boom and crack.
But now, she was fine, Alpha's vision scanned the horizen, the grass was so green and everything was crisp and cool. The little sprouts of flowers and plants could be seen everywhere the eye could travel, so fresh and pretty looking. A bird was singing somewhere in a bush near Alpha's right side; her body let out an involuntary sigh of contentment. She was happy, the air was cool and the sun was shining, but it was very humid out and that made Alpha uncomfortable.
"Hola, little birdie. " Alpha purred, sitting on the ground by the bush and curling her tail over her paws. "What brings you out by the bush today?" She was content to sit here all day, on the warm, hearty earth; and talk to no one.

A nice warm breeze ruffled fur. Oh how refreshing after a rainy night. She remembered the sounds of thunder, clapping through the night. The loud scary noise echoing through the cloudy night. Tempest remembered the sound og rain pouring on her Human's roof. It was always the sound that rocked her asleep. But on this dark night, the second long flashes and booming thunder kept her awake, shaking in cold and fear. It wasnt the best way to spend one of her first nights in the wild.
The smell of rain clung to every object around her. She padded through the slopes. A new place to adventure. More things to see. She stopped dead in her tracks. She stared at the peculiar thing in the sky, gliding. It was circling in the sky. She had heard of these things; they always hunted for small prey. She heard they were called...eeguls. Even though Tempest was a smaller cat, she had nothing to fear. Most eeguls didnt eat cats. Exept a kitten every now and then. She continued her walk along the hills, smelling the strong scents of grass and flowers.. She saw little yellow flowers called dandeelyons. She remembered the human-kit making chains out of these yellow plants, and the petals making yellow marks on her skin. A wave of greif washed over her. She remembered the the male human, throwing her into the cage, and out the car. She knew that they had loved her, why had they left her in the wild?
Tempest kept walking, and the smell of bird washed over her, but even stronger the smell of another cat. Tempest cautiously creeped around the bush, and saw the cat lieing down, talking to bird. The bird looked like one of the ones that hopped around in the human gardens. 'damnet Tempest, stop thinking about those dang humans!'
She turned to the cat, a peculiar expression on her face, "Tell me, what could possibly make you want to talk to a mindless bird?" She meowed, amused.

The bird didn't answer, but Alpha found it a little comforting to speak to someone. These lonely nights were the hardest, with no one to talk to she was afraid she'd go mute. My, oh my, what a friendly soul! Alpha thought to herself; she was slightly distressed that it had all come to this. Talking to prey, for all of God's gold she wished she could be sane. But of course, Alpha knew she was a hopeless case and - duh - there was no hope for hopeless felines.
The steady sunshine on her pelt was becoming uncomfortable so Alpha shifted to sit up from her lazy, sprwal. Her eyes caught sight of another cat, the scent told Alpha so many things about the stranger. Like it was a she, and she wasn't feeling anything hostile towards Alpha. That made Alpha glad that no one wanted to cause her trouble on such a pretty day. Maybe this was a new friend. I love friends! Alpha thought excitedly.
The cat was standing near Alpha and she was about to say hello when the other cat said. "Tell me, what could possibly make you want to talk to a mindless bird?" Alpha felt a flush coming to her cheeks, she was a little embarassed at the thought of anyone seeing her talking to prey. "Shoo." Alpha said quietly, flicking her tail at the bird so it would fly away.
"I dunno, I was just bored I geuss." Alpha said she actually felt no connection with the bird at all so why had she been speaking to it? "Anyway, I'm Alpha, Alpha Dewstep. And er...." She trailed off not knowing what to say.

Tempest laughed as she watched the little bird fly away. She shouldve jumped up and caught it, but decided to spare it's short life. She wasnt hungry, it wasnt worth killing it. She hoped that she didnt insult or embarrass the cat at all.
"I dunno, I was just bored I geuss."
" I can understand that." she purred marryly. She jumped up on a nearby rock, for the sun's rays had dried it. She didnt want to sit on the damp ground. She began to groom herself, swiping a paw across her ear.
"Anyway, I'm Alpha, Alpha Dewstep. And er...."
She stared at thge new cat with her stunning purple eyes. She smiled. Alpha.. She liked how it sounded. "I am Tempest. Tempest Moonshimmer. I was named after the storm cloud that covered the moon the night i was born. Pleased to meet you, Alpha." Tempest smiled. She always liked meeting new cats. Most would think that her purple eyes were the reason she was named Tempest. However, it was not. Becuase her eyes werent's open yet, her mother couldnt see the dazzling purple, ready to fade from the blue all kits had. No, her eyes only happened to be the color of a storm cloud.
"So, Alpha, why are you out here? If you must know, i am out wandering, exploring" ooc: I am so sorry, that such a pitiful post =[

Alpha stared contritly at the cat who'd introduced herself as Tempest Moonshimmer. A nice name, Alpha thought, named after a storm. Before she could stop herself she was telling Tempest the oigin of her strange name. "I was named after a star." She said, her tail curling as the bird flew away. She noticed Tempest stiffen then relax, Alpha was glad that the bird would live another day.
"My brother was named for a constellation, and I was named for the brightest star in any star drawing."
Alpha licked a paw and rubbed it over her ear, the soothing motion calmed her nerves somewhat. She had no idea why she was so agitated, maybe it was something in the air, a scent or subconcious knowing...
Anyways, she thought, panicing isn't the solution to anything. She drew her paw over her ear one last time and looked back at Tempest. Good God, her eyes were purple! Alpha hadn't noticed this small detail before and now she was so surprised she forgot her manners and looked unabashed into Tempest's clear violet gaze.
"Sorry,"
Alpha said when she suddenly snapped out of her stupor. "I like your eyes, they're purple!" She smiled so Tempest would know she wasn't being rude or saracastic. Alpha was just crazy like that, fawning over the smallest things in life.
ooc;; thats okay. i'm not very muse-full (i made that word up) either. ;]
