Her injuries throbbed. Her head was spinning. Every time a different type of bird chirped a flash of color blinded her eyes for a moment. Every time the wind blew the leaves of the trees around she winced as a flash of a green triangle with teal stripes appeared in the corner of her eyes. She growled in frustration, her own growl sending sparks of yellow swirls in front of her red orbs. The thump of her limp made brown splotches at the bottom of her wide vision. Melody mentally growled and continued on. This place that she had arrived in was gorgeous, even with all of the swirling colors that made her life oh-so-distracting. Why was she “blessed” with such an awful curse? It was horrible, it made life difficult. Every letter on any of the humans’ signs was a different color, every sound made a colored shape appear out of no where. At one point it had put her in danger. If there was any sort of being or presence watching over her, why had he or she let this happen? If humans believed in a God, they were totally wrong and that whole conspiracy was completely bogus.
How she hated being synesthetic.
If she had the guts, she’d scream at the top of her lungs that she hated this god damn life. She didn’t like being the different one. As far as she knew there wasn’t one cat like her out there that had this disorder. And what made it worse is that she was Albino, and he red eyes turned everybody that would even think of trying to be her friend, they would be scared of her and run off. This made her feel like she wasn’t wanted, that she was awful and the most retched thing that was placed on this damn earth. Of course, she was an idiot for thinking this, she wasn’t able to see past the colors and see that she was blessed and that she could use her colors for things that required them. Fore example, she could use them for memory. Once she saw a color, she never forgot it. No matter how much she told herself that she hated her colors, she loved them all the same. They helped her identify things, and remember cats that she’s met and such. But, of course, she doesn’t have any friends. How could she? I mean, it wasn’t like anybody would understand her “situation”. She sighed, it sending yellow swirls into her vision again.
She reached a nice pool accompanied by a waterfall. The falling water was lulling, and it made her see light blue, almost transparent, squares. She actually liked this one, she dipped her dried and crusty wounds into the cool water, which soothed them and she could see the brown and red stains leaving her fur. She purred and closed her eyes, she felt better now and was happy for once. She took her wounds out of the water and shook her fur, it was basically the same lovely shade of white. Her fur was nice and white, she smiled and sat down; watching the waterfall, and the pounding shapes of all the sounds swirl in front of her eyes. These were the life and times of Melody Redgaze.

The falls crashed down in their normal routine, leaving an ongoing spray of water seeming to hang in the air. The small orange tabby perched on a rock halfway up gave herself a little shake, hoping to ease the dampness out of her fur but it didn't do much. Not that she wasn't used to it. Indigo and the kittens had been living up by the falls mostly since they'd been born. Sure, they went off and did their own things now and she'd certainly had her own share of time away but in the end, they always came back. And so did she. But today, for example, they were all off... somewhere and that left her with some time to herself. A small smirk appeared, accompanied by a shake of the head. Surely any good mother would be at least know where her kittens were, even if she wasn't with them. But who said that Indigo Wintertrap was a good mother?
She certainly didn't.
With a roll of the eyes, she bunched her muscles and sprang down the rock, scampering down the steep hillside and giggling to herself. Enough worrrying - not that she'd really been worried - she had the day to herself and she was damn well going to spend it having fun. Giving a small nod to that, she shook out her fur as she neared the bottom of the waterfall, stretching out her legs with yawn and unsheathing her claws to tear at the grass playfully. It felt to good to feel grass under her paws again. So good that she just had to tear it out in clumps? Indigo rolled her eyes. She was just being silly. The way that she'd always been when she was just Indigo Wintertrap, the high-spirited, interesting, vibrant, intoxicating and adorable little orange tabby. So maybe she was talking herself up a bit but who cared? Now she was a mom.
She shivered - an automatic reflex - and wrinkled her nose. Even after eight months, she still wasn't used to having kittens. And it showed. She preferred to take a laid back style of parenting, letting them do whatever the hell they wanted if it got them out of her fur. Sure, she was their mother but... The maternal feelings had never really arrived and they weren't exactly the easiest things to fake. She supposed she was fond of them in her own little way but when it came down to it, she was just so much happier when she was spending time with other cats and out by herself. Not being a mom to the five of them. Flicking her tail with annoyance, Indigo trotted out to the base of the waterfall. And stopped, only noticing the other cat now. She arched one brow as she took the she-cat in, a pleasant smile appearing on her face almost immediately. Oh goody, another cat. Someone new and interesting. How she loved meeting new cats. She'd used to all the time... before the kittens. Indigo wrinkled her nose again, pulling a small pout at herself before redirecting her attention back to the other she-cat with a small, impish grin. "Hello there. I'm Indigo." It felt so good to speaking this familiar routine of words again. Her girn widened ever so slightly. "Indigo Wintertrap."
OOC: Okay so I know I'm already in a thread with you but I just haaaad to steal Melody's first thread and really hope that this is okay? I need to get back into the swing of the fabulous Indigo XP

Slowly one step at a time, the muscular tom made his way up the mountainous range and towards the crashing sound of the water fall that was only a mile or so up ahead. His sensitive feline ears could hear the echoing falls from his current position. The calico tom had not been to the falls in quite some time, he recalled his last visit to the falls, he’d ended up helping a female defend her kits from two dogs, with another tom. Twilight stopped in his tracks and looked up at the clear skies, his bright green orbs stared at the fluffy white clouds that passed by as he thought over the memory.
His first experience here had been an unexpected one, but it’s turned into a nice memory. Twilight kept memories close to his heart, and tried his hardest to remember them. Although we forget sometimes, it’s when we remember with our hearts that counts. He’d always believed in that, and it was one of his life philosophies. Letting his jaw leave his upper mouth he released a wide yawn, his tongue curled out of his mouth, and ended in licking his fine black lips. His green orbs glanced around before he stretches out his front paws and kneaded the ground slightly.
Inhaling the fresh damp air, Twilight smiled, he’d forgotten how much he liked the forest-like areas, the reason why he’d came here the first time was to relax. He was a very laid back tom, and loved to just chill and nap out in grassy patches where the sun shined bright. Stretching out his front paw, the calico tom began to walk again, towards the falls, the running water could be heard close by, with the echoing of the falls following the melody of lulling water.
As Twilight neared the water, two figures caught his eye. A orange tabby female and a pure white femora. At first Twilight thought the white femora to be Moon, the young kitten whom he’d met at these very falls once before. But a closer look he could see that that female was definitely not Moon. He took a few more steps forward, acknowledging both presence of the females with a polite nod of his head. He dipped his head down and lapped up some cool water into his mouth. Boy, had he been thirsty, come to think of it, he couldn’t recall when he’d had his last meal. Food sounded fairly good at the moment.
Once he was done with his drink, he turned to the two females and smiled at them, his green orbs sliding between them. It was then that he realized he recognized the orange tabby female. “Good evening, nice day isn’t it?” He said to them, his voice low as it carried out softly above the lulling of the falls. His eyes glanced over to the white femora. “I’m Twilight.” He added, as he sat on his rump, his bobbed tail hiding under him, making it seem he had no tail at all.
Ooc: Hope you don't mind me jumping in this thread. :3

Melody liked the sound of the crashing water. All of the sky blue squares were subtle and she could see through them, and they were normal to her. She purred lightly, yellow swirls that were second-nature to see to her zoomed into her vision. The lulling crashing of the pounding water hitting the still water was nice and calming, she felt that she could sleep here. But, she wouldn’t. Mel watched the falling water mate a sort of mist around the waterfall itself and made small ripples escape through the pool. She smiled lightly, continuing to purr. Her white, fluffy fur was still a little damp, but nothing major to annoy her. Melody disliked prancing around with wet fur, it stuck to her body and limited her movement. She sighed mentally and brown splotches appeared at the bottom of her vision. Her pinkish ears went back in a scared and warning sense, and she turned around.
Her red orbs were staring straight at an orange tabby cat. By her weight Melody assumed she was female, and her golden eyes proved to be nothing out of the ordinary. ”Hello there I’m Indigo,” the orange tabby’s gentle and steady voice made green stripes across her vision, after a pause when the distractions were starting to fade away Indigo spoke again. ”Indigo Wintertrap.” More green stripes faded in, and after a few seconds faded out again. Melody smiled as best she could, but she know it was timid and frightened. She growled in her head, she needed to be more confident, which wasn’t something Melody was good at. She looked down at her very pale pink paws. Why did she have to be so different? Everybody always said that it was good to be different. By different, Mel didn’t think this is what they had in mind. Her throat was dried up, she attempted opened her mouth to speak, but no sound came out. She closed her mouth as more brown splotches came into her vision, she whipped her head around to see who had intruded into their midst. Indigo seemed not to have turned her head, Melody seemed to have better hearing. Of course, sometimes the colors came before she heard them completely.
Into her real sight came a calico cat. A tom, she concluded as he neared the two females. This tom seemed to be moving steadily and not realized their presence. She shrugged and turned back to Indigo, to see her reaction. She couldn’t see it and she turned back to the tom. He wasn’t all that bad-looking, she thought. Well, what cat was really that bad to look at? As she argued in her head for a moment, the tom neared them and finally noticed them. Well about time… She spoke coldly in her head and took him in. He had a nice short coat, much better than her medium-length white one and nice green eyes. She frowned and made a low growl, was she the only freaking albino in this world? Probably. She had just barley realized that he was speaking. ”Good evening, nice day isn’t it?” His voice was soft and made pleasant mango colored puffs roll into sight. ”I’m Twilight.” He added. Melody finally realized that she should probably introduce herself too, so as not to be rude. ”I’m Melody Redgaze.” Her voice was very quiet and soft, and probably barely carried to the two cats inches in front of her face. She sighed, oh well. The mango puffs and green stripes faded finally from view. She looked at them through red eyes, wondering how they would judge her.

Indigo was smiling patiently at the white she-cat when she heard paw-steps approaching gently. Her head swivelled to the side and she narrowed her eyes as she studied this new stranger - and then they widened with the utmost surprise as she realized that she knew him. This was one of the toms that had saved her and the kits from that nasty doberman. A shiver passed through her fur as she remembered that incident - at these very same falls, too. But the dogs were gone now, they'd all either been killed or run off during the fight at the dump. She grinned, albeit a tad cockily, as she remembered the skirmish. They'd certainly showed those dogs who really owned Nenbrook. But she gave her head a little shake, pulling herself back into the present as the newcomer introduced himself as Twilight. Had he ever introduced himself to her? She couldn't be completely sure, although the name did sound vaguely familiar. A small flsuh lit up her cheeks - how embarassing that she couldnt even completely remember the same of a cat that had saved her life - and her kittens' lives. There had just been a lot that had happened since then - what with the fight with the dogs and then having to dealing with five kittens that expected her to be a mother and just... ugh. She was pretty sure that she'd shot those expectations away by now.
"Pleased to see you again, stranger," she drawled with a small grin as she stepped closer to the other two cats, batting her lashes coquettishly. Straightening up with an impish grin, she winked at the tom and then turned her attention slowly back to the white she-cat as she introduced herself as Melody Redgaze. Melody. Like music, wasn't it? Indigo could remember music. Jeff had played music all the time on that tree-wood-music thing of his - what was it called? Guitar. That was it. He'd play music all the time on that thing, pretties songs. Melodies. Indigo felt a rush of feeling suddenly for this she-cat whose name was Melody. She just wasn"t sure exactly she was feeling - a rush of companionship associated with such happy memories or a rush of annoyance and animosity that she'd managed to remind Indigo of a past with a happy beginning but no "happily ever after" ending.
She shifted her weight uncomfortably and then finally settled on just dipping her heard politely with a small smile. "Pleased to meet you, M- hun." She didn't really feel like saying the cat's name right about now. Terms of endearment would have to do instead. She flashed a winning smile and then her eyes darted back over to Twilight. Well this was certainly an odd looking group here. The handsome savior, the albino with a name from her memories... and her. Who was she? Not in a great philosophical way but how did others see her? If she was to also be summed in a few words in the same way that she'd just done for the two of them... what would they say? The psychopathic tabby? The mother of five? Indigo wrinkled her nose automatically, not sure which infliction she disliked more. It was pretty even to be honest, they were both cringe-inducing. Maybe she'd ask these two here - see what others actually thought of her instead of trying to guess and coming up with the scariest options. She'd wait until she'd talked to them for a bit - until they had more then a name and a few sentences to judge her with. Not that she'd given Melody the same chance or anything.

As the white feline introduced herself Twilight smiled kindly to her and dipped his head showing his respect and acknowledging her. “It’s nice to meet you Melody.” He said softly, staring at her for a moment, letting her face sink into memory. He also observed her albino features. He’d never met an albino before and it was fairly interesting to see one. He had to admit the red eyes where a bit creepy, but the pure white coat was beautiful. Who knew, maybe the red would grow on him if he gets to know this femme more. He couldn’t help but noticed she seemed a bit uneasy, fairly shy. He could specially tell the way she spoke her name so softly and gazed down at her paws. Obviously a shy femora indeed. It was actually kind cute.
When the orange tabby femme spoke to Twilight, he could help but put on a lopsided grin. “The pleasure is all mine.” He said, his green orbs stared into her golden ones. A soft smirk spread across his lips when she winked at him. Now Twilight could be a bit flirtatious at times, however he knew this femme from before, she had kits, and obviously had a mate, after all they had to have a father. That brown tabby that was also fighting off the dogs? Twilight never caught his name, and now that he thought about it, he’d never really caught this femora’s name. “I’m sorry, but I don’t believe I ever got your name.” He said to her, shifting slightly on his hunches, his bobbed tail being sat on in the process. Something he was used to, he remembered how it used to annoy him when he sat on it, but now it didn’t. Hell sometimes he barely even realized it.
The male calico looked between the two females, neither looking at both nor looking away. Neutral ground as he saw it. That way he could look whoever was speaking to him. He disliked when someone spoke and didn’t look at him, it was annoying , specially when someone was trying to be serious. Twilight sighed softly, and lied his ears back slightly, a bit content. He loved the outdoors, loved being a stray, didn’t miss his life as an indoor cat. No, he had too many scars, both mentally and physically from his house cat years. ‘Jesse…’ He frowned slightly, okay maybe he had lied a little bit. He missed Jesse, the only one who really cared about him and his siblings and what happened to them. She was his friend, and he dearly missed her. He wished she’d never given him to the horrible abusive family who abused him before dumping him.
Then he was dumped here, in this paradise. A paradise for stray cats. A part of him wish he’d been born a wild cat, he wondered how much his life would have been differently if he had been born wild. He wondered about the future, and how his kittens would be born strays, that was if he ever had kittens. He shook his head and mentally laughed at himself. He was over thinking again, letting his thoughts run wildly out of control, swirling into the depths of despair and a world full of “what if’s”

Melody switched her weight in a very uncomfortable manner. The two cats, the orange tabby she-cat and the calico tom, obviously knew each other. It made her feel awkward and uncomfortable. She shook her white fur a little, hoping to get it pretty dry. Once the wild craze of fur settled, she matted it down with her rough light pink tongue. She sighed with satisfaction, finally her fur was pretty much dry and she could think straight. Wonderful. She peeked out of the corner of her eyes, seeing the calico tom staring at her. Mel couldn’t be sure if it was out of interest or an alien-look. This made her want to run away and cower in a cave until the storm of sideways glances was over. Of course she couldn’t, this would seem childish and completely immature.
“Pleased to meet you M –hun.” Melody couldn’t help but get a little curious at that thought, why hadn’t she called her ‘Melody’ like everybody else? She felt like swatting the green stripes that faded in. The calico finally spoke to her. “It’s nice to meet you, Melody.” The white femme liked the politeness of the calico, Twilight, wasn’t it? She purred with delight at meeting somebody that had a respect of female cats. She felt out of place as the two cats spoke, feeling left out. This was good, maybe she could slip away unnoticed and not have to stay and gush her feelings to these two. But, she did feel some companionship for these two and glad they hadn’t asked her why she was here or where she was from. That always seemed to be a good conversation starter, “Why are you here?” “What are you doing?” “Where are you from?” She was greatful that these cats weren’t like the others.
Strangely enough she was happy to have entered this paradise.
She was still in pain from the beatings that awful man had done to her, she hadn’t even known him long enough to have figured out his name! What evil being humans were. She frowned and looked at her paws, a sense of anger seared through her. She wanted to hurt something, but this wasn’t her nature. She obviously wouldn’t have the guts to speak up and speak her mind. She was relieved that these two were nice and maybe even knew that she wasn’t really wanting to talk, she never did. Probably not, but you never know. Green stripes and mango-colored splotches entered her vision again. For once, she actually enjoyed watching her colors drift in and out of sight. Every new sound brought a new color and she looked at the clouds. Her gaze on the clouds made it easier to see the colors strewn out on her canvas. She enjoyed it, she was suddenly self conscious. Obviously, the two had wondered why she was looking at the sky. Obviously, she wasn’t going to tell them.
Melody’s gaze slowly moved from the clouds to the cats sitting in front of her, she had not a care in the world. She was suddenly rather tired, and she most likely looked a little distant, but that’s what she wanted. Her red gaze was terrifying and she hoped that they wouldn’t want to talk to her. But, obviously they wanted to.
