I’m so glad that I’m out of that stupid human’s house! I can’t believe he just forgot about me. Well… I’m out of that hell hole now. I wish I could find my first human family again. They were really nice. But I wouldn’t know where to start. I don’t even know where I am. And I’m really, really hungry. Maybe I should try and find a human house around here and see if they will feed me? Or even better, take me in? But, I think I’m too exhausted to do that. Ugh, what am I going to do?

OH MY GOD. What just crept up behind me? Oh… It’s a cat! My age, too! She has white fur and pretty purple eyes. I haven’t seen eyes quite like them. And… what’s in her mouth? It smells delicious… Well, I could eat anything right now, but it really did smell great. Hmm... A mouse? I wonder how she caught it. Anyway, that doesn’t matter right now, because she, Moon, just gave it to me! Oh my God, I’m saved! She’s really nice. Actually, she seems a lot like I do.

After I devoured the mouse, I started to ask Moon about where the heck I was. Apparently it’s a place called Nenbrook. It has a market, woods, a stream, a dump, and a farm. But Moon warns me to stay away from the barn because of some dogs that chased her around and wanted to eat her. Dogs never bothered me when I lived with my first humans, but I always got a prickle of fear whenever I heard or saw one of them.

And then, before I know it, we’re off to the dump to get some more food.
