Name: Osprey Coldenwing Gender: Male Date of Birth: 28/01/2007 Height: 24cm Sexual Preference: Straight Status: Not Neutered
Coat Color: Black Coat Pattern: Solid Eye Color: Amber Fur Length: Medium Appearance Extra: He only has a few tabby stripes, on his legs and tail.
History: Imagine this. You are locked up in a freezing cage with only spiders for company. That was Osprey’s home for the first few months of his life. His mother was a silver she-cat named Ocean Shoreline, whereas his father was a tabby named Hawk Coldenwing. They were both former house-cats, who escaped to the streets as kittens.
Ocean was previously a stray, before she was captured by humans and held hostage (or seemed to her) because she was due to have kittens with another stray tom. When the litter was born, one of the five tragically died before it was a few days old. The remaining four grew up in solitary confinement, they were bottle-fed by the humans because the mother was adopted shortly after their birth. One of the remaining four (a silver she-cat like their mother) was adopted by a kindly human who needed some company. Osprey and his other siblings (Twig and Kite) however, didn’t seem so appealing to the humans. Once they had reached the age of nine months, they were destined to be (as the humans called it) disposed of. When the time came, they were thrown into a nearby river, but unlike kittens they had the ability to swim by instinct. They managed to make it to shore and they soon headed out into the countryside…
The crew of three were very different in personalities and skills. Kite was the only she-cat, but she was most likely the most skilled hunter out of the three. Twig however, was the smallest, but his fluffy tabby coat made him seem bigger than he was. Twig wasn't as strong or lithe as his siblings - but he was very quick witted unlike his brother Osprey. Osprey was the largest built: he was tall and long. He wasn’t very fast or smart but what he lacked in physical agility and mental ability he made up for in strength. He was a quiet kitten and was more likely to grunt at you than engage in conversation. He was always the one who would be first to cross the river, or brave an attack of rats.. he would always protect his siblings.
The siblings lived together in peace until a storm tore them apart. Kite had slipped on a rock and tumbled down a small cliff. To make matters worse, an escaped dog chased the brothers away from the tragic scene, so they never knew the outcome of the fall. Twig was once again captured by the humans and Osprey was sent out to live life as a solitary stray. After a few months, he managed to discover a strange path, and he started to walk along it to discover where it would lead him.
Personality:
Osprey is a far from optimistic cat to say the least. To begin with the faults he has a terrible temper at times and once angered there’s no stopping him. Fortunately however, he is exceedingly good and ignoring taunts and it takes a lot to get him going. He is secretive and quiet at times, and he isn’t as exciting or hyper as some other felines. This black tom is black by nature as well as appearance, because he can often be grim and unwilling to do favours. He is on the other hand hard working and determined even if he is a little dull at times. Many believe that Osprey’s lack of friends is what causes his I-don’t-care-about-you attitude, but others despise him and spread rumours about the Uncaring Undercat. His greatest dream is to be like his brother, Twig, who is good-looking, kind, a great friend and slightly crazy. No such fortune was granted upon him.
He has a very bad opinion of humans mainly because of what they had done to him, but he is actually quite forgiving and is usually willing to accept most apologies. He tries not to have any severe hate to anyone, and although nobody knows it he looks on the bright side of everyone but himself. He is one of those cats who can find good in everyone, but who chooses to keep it private. He has a very low opinion of himself in contrast, he believes he is tedious, grumpy and unwilling to help or assist anyone, and he often curses his lack of friends. Even his siblings never spoke to him, they tended to chat and spend time with each other instead. Osprey is determined to make something of his life, but the opportunities never seem to come along. He is lonely in the world, but he enjoys spending time with himself. One of his favourite things to do is watch the sunset, or enjoy watching rabbits hop around in nearby fields.
Overall, Osprey is exceptionally quiet and secretive, but has very good thoughts about others and seeks to be a good friend and a good cat overall. He doesn’t believe in himself, but he stays alive just in case an opportunity comes around. He doesn’t snap but he can ignore cats instead, which can be irritating. He likes to be left alone, but inside he wishes he had some friends to spend time with.
