History: Before Striker could ever even fathom his adventures as a stray the story all started with his mother's beginning. Indigo Wintertrap was abandoned in mid winter after loosing her owner and painfully realizing her human's sister could not care for her. Thrust into the world of Nenbrook she learned to survive and communicate. Meeting a few cats on the way, she met a tom that would change her life completely. Quickly after being drawn to the new brown tabby tom, Stellar Snowpaw, they found a common feeling between them. Affection.
They weren’t together long when one day while admiring the forest around her, Indigo stumbled on yet another tom named Ash Firestar. Refusing to give him her name at first she soon realized she wanted to see this cat again. Giving her name and telling him of her newbie stray story, she lied. Ash catching her in the midst of her tall-tale she realized how insane and ungrateful she was. Feeling strongly disappointed with herself she dived into a spiral of depression, forgetting everything and everyone around her. Ash being the kind Samaritan he was, he help release Indigo from the grasp of her deep depression. He seemed like he really cared and Indigo felt like she could no longer live without him. The thought of being so dependant on someone she ran from Ash and his only wish was for her never to leave, and she did just the opposite.
Randomly stumbling upon Ash again after a few days of guilty solitude, she apologized for her previous actions. Ash wasn’t mad, he was forgiving which irritated Indigo quite a bit. Surprisingly though Stellar, Indigo’s old friend, walked into the picture. Pulling Indigo aside for a minute he confessed his love for her and Indigo completely agreed that she indeed felt the same way. She desired a spin-off romance with Ash and yet she insisted that Stellar was the best choice. After all they were old friends. Ash soon after left the dump leaving Indigo and Stellar, and as Indigo looked to Ash to see him walk away Stellar saw the look in her eyes and decided to give up on his un-dying love for her.
Stellar left Indigo alone and so she wandered aimlessly yet again around her all to familiar home. Feeling depressed and worthless she yet again stumbled on her “former” potential mate, Ash. Speaking to Indigo as if her “new” mate was no bother to him, Indigo admitted she had no mate. Realizing in that event that she did love Ash she decided to end her life so she would no longer hurt him anymore. Three times was enough. Fortunately, Indigo did not succeed in her attempt and Ash brought an old lady to care for her broken bones. Ash always stayed within sight of Indigo until she was better and they returned into the safe sanctuary of the forest.
Indigo lived happily with Ash for a bit. She convinced herself that Stellar had been right, she had indeed loved Ash. Setting off one day to find Stellar she found him in the dump thanks to a fellow feline by the name of Dapple. After a few short minutes, which felt like forever, she had admitted to Stellar that she loved him too. She loved Ash too, but Stellar also meant a lot to her. Feeling like her next action would release them both, she decided to stay with Stellar for one night. After that night she felt truly guilty that she had officially cheated on Ash and fibbed through her teeth to Stellar. She put on her best act and told him she had not loved him but Ash, which made him angry and run off feeling used.
After feeling relief that she had finally done the right thing, she decided to gather the strength to tell Ash. Right before she made that step though, she realized she was pregnant. Never imagining she’d have to experience this natural occurrence.
[[[Reserved for Ash and Indigo discussion on her pregnancy]]]
Without notice one day while exploring she experienced the wonder of giving birth…by herself. Luckily all the kits were born healthy, but that was the least of her problems. Ambushed by dogs Chief and Caesar, a couple of her kits were injured in the fight. But fortunately for her two toms Wolf, a frenemy (Friend+Enemy) of Indigo’s, and Twilight, a random calico tom, jumped to her rescue. And the three of the adults chased the dogs off even if Chief, the reluctant husky, left willingly.
Growing up for the beginning of his first two weeks blind while his brother and sisters opened there eyes was tough for Strike, but with his mother’s encouragement and Kestrel’s teasing words he learns to survive. He fights with his brother Lion and learns to fight with his other senses then relying on sight. He listens to his mother’s story of the kits first day in Nenwood and the cat and dogfight they had survived. He wishes to one day actually talk to Wolf, the cat that had fought for Indigo and her kits when his biological father, Stellar, had not been.
Personality: Just a cat like any other, there are a few aspects that make him unique. For one he’s blind, but that doesn’t really stop him from living. He cherishes every moment he spends with his mother, Indigo. As a kitten growing up blind, he loved to snuggle and hear her heartbeat. He isn’t as sensitive as it might seem though. Sure in his heart he has a lot of love for his family, and he’s truly grateful for his life, but anger and strife boil in him.
He feels resentment for his father, Stellar, who left their mother to raise five kits by herself. Fortunately, their mother didn’t seem to mind, or maybe she did but was good at keeping it hidden from her offspring. He can’t help but imagine the day he meets him. “Cherish your life now old man!” Striker can’t help but hold a grudge, but he’s too kind to take another cat’s life even if it was his father. He would just like to strike him one!
Although he’s very compassionate for others, and has a spirit of servitude, he can be a real pain in the butt! He can be quite the sarcatic and annoying cat when he want, but he has a kind heart. He tries to act 'big and bad' but really he doesn't need too. And an aspect he picked up is like his mom he can be a little unstable….When he gets really excited, passionate, or angry at something or someone it’s nearly impossible to stop his tirade. The only cat that has a chance of stopping him or calming him down would be his sister Kestrel. Out of his siblings he feels closer to Kestrel. He hangs around her a lot, but tries to go out by himself even if he’s blind.
He learns to get used to his “ability” as he calls it, and instead of feeling insecure he feels the complete opposite. Being blind he can’t see the faces that others make at him, he also can’t judge others. Using his whiskers though, he can feel other cat’s moods around him ten times better then normal cats. He doesn't linger on the confused stares he feels, he just lives like any other cat. Sarcastic and all.
He harbors a lot of fears though. Not any that a cat can do to him, but that he might one day might hurt him or someone he loved because he can’t see. Sounds that boom around him that he can’t explain. Bumps in the night, stalking enemies, his only weakness lies with one of his greatest strengths. He can also have a quick tongue, especially when he’s confused with the situation. He’ll lash out when he’s not sure, and he tries not to seem too young and naive but in reality…he is. Overall, he’s a trustworthy, fun, adventurous cat to be around.
