History: On January 22, 2008, one particular litter was brought into the world. And the amazing thing was that this new family contained the beginning of one destinct little kitten. Tiny, petite Amaryllis. She was a smidge too small, even for a newborn. Her parents fretted and fussed, complaining ever so often about the size of their kit. The orange splotch and white couldn't make up her mind whether it was a good thing she was always the center of the spotlight. Her average sized siblings were awfully envious of their sister and she was pretty much hated among her kin. But Amaryllis didn't give a second thought what her image was like to others. It was her opinion that mattered. She learned that from her Grammaw. Grammaw was her role model and she understood her grandchild. She educated Amaryllis on life lessons.
The kit was devasted when her beloved Grammaw joined the place of bereavement. Her parents, to the she-kit's surprise, wasn't at all that bitter or forlorn as she thought. Amaryllis was vexed at her mother and father. How could they not even shed one tear of misery? Her anger turned to despair as a crude plan was revealed to her, not by her parents doing, but her owners. She was to be deserted. Her capacity was still underweight. To take away the grief of seeing her die of being too gangly, her humans chased her far away leaving her to fend for her own miserable soul.
Amaryllis was petrified and appalled by her guardians' behaviour. Absolutely outrageous. She scoured the wood for shelter and maybe a abode that could replace her old dwelling. The orange splotch kitten became a wandering minstrel, and her heart learned to grow cold at the thought of love. Amaryllis knew there was no turning back to her wretched family.
The young feline finally found her way out of the woods after a couple of months. She was around adolescence and wasn't one bit relieved she hadn't joined the ranks of her Grammaw. Amaryllis' once care-free personality had grown into a bitter battle of fire, flickering at any image of her past life. She was no longer a small, helpless puss, but a strong, independent knight of fur with no intention of her once secluded spirit.
She traveled on the roads, snapping up garbage and rats, not giving one glance to her passing neighbors and surroundings. She had gone into an unknown town, full of noise, but also had it's own aloof backbone. Amaryllis ended up walking around a street, which happened to be The Old Road. The teenager had overheard some other cats talking about Nenbrook and the Silvercrest woods. Maybe sometime a little visit would do.
Personality: One word to describe Amaryllis would be hardened. Ever since her past cruel and stone-cold life, the little Princess of Unemotional Blood has suffered many fervent moments which are not to be mentioned. She is pretty much full of hatred and disgust at the thought of having a family. She scowls at human houses with more than one feline inside. Amaryllis' once open heart has been covered in multiple layers of concrete, forever blocking out the world's love and friendship. Will you fall under her eye, or be the one to stand up and let her once again understand the only magic in the world?
Amaryllis isn't one to be called a social pack rat. She does fine in solitude, thank you. Cats may watch and stare at the lump of disfavor, but the orange splotch won't give as much of a snarl. One thing's for sure. She does not get a kick out of company.
Amaryllis despises all people. She assumes every one of the vile beings was like her elapsed owners, having no hope and just trying to kill so they don't have to suffer from emotion. Ugh. Despite the sightings of cats and man together, Amaryllis knows underneath the easily penetrated hide, there's evil much like her own.
The she-cat's doesn't have much skills, but many bad habits. Sure, Amaryllis might be a trickster, she might just possibly pretend she actually likes you, but this cat in the bag is never to be trusted. But there is one sign, and it's almost impossible to read. When she was a kitten, the feline would purr like a oiled machine. If you can detect even one slight rumble, you've hit the mother load, the jack pot and her heart.
Amaryllis cannot stand it when someone bribes her with prey, shelter or even a future mate. It's the easiest way to get Amaryllis to fight with you. Sweetening this tank would never, ever in a million years work. She's had experience with tons of toms talking with a slurred voice. She would brush them off her back sometimes. But that's real rare. Don't try it.
One good thing about the orange splotch is that she actually likes compliments. Amaryllis will never show that the first time, but if she meets you again, the reward is an extra word or two. The best part is, it ain't nasty.
Last thing is that Amaryllis is a daredevil. She at least tries one life-risking exploit once a day. If you taunt her to do something, most likely she would, even if it meant charging into some human household, grabbing a candlestick and lighting an object. She's that tough. But if it was something imprudent, like slamming headfirst against a cattle head, she would likely think you were attemting to assasinate her and get into a teeth and claw affray.
