History: To put it simply, Willow had a history that was… simple, for lack of a better word. Her mother was not a prostitute; she was not raped; there was no love at first sight… nothing extraordinary happened. Willow enjoyed this, though: she is the type of cat who likes things to stay clean and neat. It all started when Willow’s grandparents, introduced a young she-cat by the name of Snow to a handsome young tabby tom. Dusk, as he was named, was a family friend, but he had never met Snow before. This made sense, seeing as her parents knew she wouldn’t like him. Their personalities clashed and they fought constantly, but over time, they grew on each other. It was only a matter of time before they agreed to become mates, much to Snow’s parents’ joy. Soon after that, Snow became a pregnant. This was a surprise to her parents: Dusk was several years older then her and though they were mates, they hadn’t expected them to have kits. Willow was the only kit in their first litter. She was quite bouncy as a kitten; always curious ad poking her nose into things. She got into trouble often and was constantly being warned that ‘curiosity killed the cat!’ Fortunately, she quickly matured and became more cautious. By the time Willow was barely six months old Snow became pregnant again. This was accidental, but Dusk was ecstatic. Both Snow and Dusk were happy and hoped to have more than one kit in this litter. Once again, the birth was uneventful. All three kits and Snow came out fine. But this time, Willow was treated less like their precious daughter and more like their much-needed babysitter. She enjoyed this, though: she liked having a task and caring for the kittens. Soon, though, the young she-cat got bored of her simple life. Even though she didn’t want to change her entire lifestyle, she wanted to do something more with her life. Knowing that her trip would make up for leaving, she bade her parents and siblings goodbye and set off. Willow went to Nenbrook. She had lived in the country for her whole life and wanted to see something of this grand little town. Getting directions from other cats, she traveled for a week or two before arriving at her destination. She roamed around the town for several days before settling down in a little field near the old road. This area was plentiful in mice and other delicious prey; it seemed like a wonderful home for her. Don’t be surprised, though, if she picks up her bags and goes searching for a new home in Nenbrook – it might happen in a day, a week, or even a year. Words: 457
Personality: Annoying as a kit and annoying as an adult, Willow has been getting on cats’ bad sides for her whole life. She has a good heart – yes indeed, a very good one – but her obsession with cleanliness and organization could drive any cat mad I they were around her for too long. Her constant neatening and moving things around has caused many cats to shoo her away or move when they see her coming towards them. She tries to help literally everyone, and her persistent desire to please gets old. Well, you can’t deny that Willow’s kind… or at least tries to be. Her constant kindness and attention is a pain in the rear when it’s there every second of every day. Even if you’re a complete stranger, she’ll try to help you out if she sees you have a problem or you’re in a pickle. Actually, she’ll try to help you even if she doesn’t know you need help. Willow is the type of cat who will see someone and go up to them, saying, “Hi! I’m Willow, and I was wondering if you needed help with anything. I mean, you look kind of tired – you need to get more sleep – so let me help you get home. I’ll carry that mouse for you; do you want me to? Oh, that’s okay, I’ll do it anyway.” And then she’ll proceed to talk to you endlessly, chattering about her life and your life and how she knows you’ll be great friends. You could say that Willow has OCD. I don’t know if it’s possible for cats to have that, but if they could, Willow definitely would. She has an obsession with cleanliness and neatness; she’s always neatening things or wiping the dust off them. Even if someone already cleaned there, she’ll do it again. Even the slightest things bother her and require her to neaten them: a bit of dirt on a leaf or a funny bump or tangle in someone’s fur. Willow, for some reason, is rather fearful. Although other cats might be claustrophobic and scared of tight, small spaces, this little she-cat is nervous when she’s in wide-open places such as a large field or meadow. She can’t explain why… there’s just a nagging fear that someone could be in that big place with her, watching her, listening to her, spying on her, and she wouldn’t know it. And being a small cat, Willow is scared of bigger creatures, especially dogs. As a kit, she was taught to stay away from the horrific beasts, and that stayed with her as she grew up. She’s even scared of cats who are especially tall or imposing. Sometimes, Willow can be pretty nosing. Seeing as she’s always trying to help you, she first needs to figure out what your problems are. She will almost interrogate you, searching through you life and times to find some way to help you. Even though she seems annoying, Willow is always cheerful. Bouncy and ebullient, she is nearly always in a good mood. She’s even very trusting of her friends; always willing to confide in them and tell them secrets. Words: 525
