Name: Maple Redberry Gender: She-cat Date of Birth: July 2, 2007 Height: 20 centimeters Sexual Preference: Straight Status: Spayed
Coat Color: Brown Coat Pattern: Tabby Eye Color: Blue Fur Length: Medium Appearance Extra: Maple was born with a strange little V-shaped nick in her ear.
History: Petal Clearblue was two years old when a strange cat arrived on the farm where she lived. Being a sweet and curious cat who was used to respect and politeness, she found it rather rude when the stranger, a brown tabby tom, padded into her barn and settled down to sleep without saying a word to her. Poking and prodding the tom awake, Petal began interrogating him, asking who he was and why he had come here. The tom was polite even though he had been awakened rather rudely and answered all Petal’s questions with a calm and confident air. ”My name is Dust Redberry. I’m just passing through and need a place to stay for the night.” The next morning, Dust prepared to leave and after a hearty goodbye to Petal, he set off. Petal watched him leave, and she felt strangely sad. Dismissing the feeling, she told herself she just felt this way because an exciting cat in her life was leaving. But it seems that Dust felt that way, too, because two days later, he came back to the barn. He stayed for two days this time, and left the day after that. This happened over and over again with Dust coming back sooner and staying longer each time. Eventually, he decided to stay in the barn with Petal and not roam anymore. Soon afterwards, Petal became pregnant. The love of the two cats had grown and grown and they vowed to stay together forever. [Soppy, I know. =P ] Soon after the hard birth of Maple and her siblings, Snow and Bark, Dust was hit by a car while crossing a wide highway. Inflicted with two broken legs and a copious amount of scrapes and bruises, he managed to drag himself back to the barn. He died soon after; Petal was so distraught that she ran away to find a better life and a new mate, leaving her children to fend for themselves. It wasn’t long before the young couple who owned the farm heard the mewling kittens and came to investigate. Picking up the young, six-month old cats, they brought them to their house and commenced to collar and spay them all. Snow and Bark enjoyed this easy life, but Maple soon became restless and longed to escape back to the barn and a free life. She knew that it would be nearly impossible to flee, but after almost a year of plotting and wishing, the young she-cat managed to escape to the streets of Nenbrook. Words: 421.
Personality: Unfortunately, Maple’s life has been full of death and abandonment. Most cats would react to this by staying aloof and not getting close or attached to others, but this she-cat is the opposite. Even after only a few days after meeting someone, Maple latches onto them. She feels connected to them in some way and is heartbroken if they leave her. Maple hates being ignored and always begs for attention. She is critical and angry at heart, but around others she pretends to be much sweeter and kinder then she really is. Around strangers, she keeps up this disguise and pretends to be caring and sweet, but as the other cat gets closer to her, Maple becomes more critical and unsatisfied with them. For this reason, she doesn’t keep friends for very long. She does have one soft spot, though: kits. Months ago, on her way to Nenbrook, Maple told an elderly, experienced cat about the operation her old humans had given her. The other cat had explained that Maple had been spayed. The understanding that she would never be ale to have kits morphed into a strong, unexpected love for them. Maple doesn’t act rue or critical around kittens; she’s loving and always tries to take care of them (rather then merely pretending to be so). Maple loves attention and considers herself the center of the universe, expecting others to care for her. For this reason, she feels she deserves a mate and is constantly trying to get one. She tried to be seductive around attractive, exotic males. This she-cat tries and often succeeds in getting mates, but her critical manner ensures they don’t stay her “lover” for long. When hunting, Maple tells herself she is being good by helping to rid the world of “lowly creatures.” Maple thinks she is superior and above all other cats, and she acts this way. She thinks that as their better, she should be able to control and boss then around. Much to her embarrassment, Maple is claustrophobic. She tries to avoid getting in small, enclosed spaces, but when forced into one, she will become nauseous and start to tremble violently. She’ll beg to get out of the little space and, when back in the open air, will often feel a need to lie down. Words: 383.

Your OOC Name: *Avalanche Other Characters On the Site: *None
Like I told Lu, my former OOC name was Hazel and my character was Tansy Starshadow. I quit CD, but recently decided to re-join and create a new character [Tansy was killed by dogs as part of the plot.] I have a new OOC name because I go by Avalanche on most other sites and it would be easier for me if I had the same name everywhere.
