History: Sky was born into a litter of seven kittens. She was the odd one, being the only kitten of solid color. Her four brothers and two sisters were of varying patterns and colors, making them stand out and beautiful. Sky knew very little of her family before she was sent away with her own family of humans. All she knew was that her mother's name was Nyx and Sky resembled her most. Her mother had been a solid black color as well. The kittens were well cared for and were given a lot of attention by their first humans, which made it all that much harder to leave. But Sky was sure, even at such a young age, that her family would not allow a horrible human family to care for her.
As soon as Sky and her siblings were weened from their mother's milk, they were separated amongst some other human families. Nyx had cleaned all her children meticulously, demanding that her kits be perfect for their new homes. Sky never forgot that moment, which is probably why she keeps her coat so clean and sleek to this day. And Sky had been right. Her family had not sent her to a house of horrible humans. In fact, Sky would be exceedingly happy in her new home, being pampered, loved and played with.
Sky's new human, Miko, had fallen in love with Sky immediately, finding the odd crook at the end of Sky's tail adorable. Sky had noticed many things about Miko immediately. The human was a female. She had light skin, but dark hair, much resembling Sky's own, but longer. The woman had very light blue eyes that looked like those of a kitten not grown into their eyes yet. And her new human was expecting a litter of her own.
When Sky was brought to Miko's home, Sky was very pleased. It was a small and cozy place. It was made up of four small rooms all of which were full of Miko's possessions. Sky was warm and secure and immediately went to exploring her new home. It wasn't long before Miko found her again and latched a soft strap around Sky's neck. It was black to match her fur, and every time Sky moved it would make a soft tinkling noise. Sky loved it and wanted the strap to make more of the pretty sound. So Sky would jump and flip and play and make as much noise as she could, and Miko played with her until she grew tired. Sky curled up next to Miko on the soft bed, and went to sleep, content.
It wasn't long after Sky cam to live with Miko that an addition was made to the family. Sky's human gave birth to her litter. Sky was amazed when Miko came home with only one kit. Did she leave the others somewhere? Would she go back for the others? But Miko never did bring any others. Sky could not imagine that her Miko would leave her own kits anywhere, so she made the observation that humans can only have one kit per litter. This new kit's name was Toboe. It was a little boy for Sky to play with. When he became old enough to play with, that was. He seemed to grow at an alarmingly slow rate to Sky.
Many months went by and Sky was warm and happy and, even though she got less attention from Miko since Toboe came, Sky loved the new kit very much and stayed with him every night and played with him every day, teaching him all the cat secrets. Sky loved it when Toboe would reach for her, even if the baby was just a bit rough. He didn't mean to be. And Sky was always careful not to bite too hard, or scratch at all, keeping her claws tucked within her paws. And the three of them were happy. But it was not to last.
One night, a few days after Sky's first birthday, a man came to Miko's home. Miko and Toboe were not there and Sky was frightened, for this was a stranger she had never met before. And that night, when Miko came home, Sky tried to warn her, but the human could not understand the poor black kitten. As soon as Miko had placed Toboe into his crib, the stranger had grabbed her from behind. Sky watched in horror, frozen to the ground as the man harmed Miko. And after several minutes that seemed like hours, Miko finally stopped struggling.
The man turned to Toboe's crib. The kit had taken to crying and would not be silenced till Miko had fed him. But Miko would never feed him again. When the man stood from the floor and made his way toward the crib, a snarl on his face, Sky cried out. She could not let this stranger hurt Toboe as well. She streaked fast as lightning up into the crib and crouched down over the crying kit. Sky hissed up at the stranger, threatening with all her might. But to no avail. She was swatted away with one arm and slammed against the wall, slipping down onto the floor not to wake for several hours.
When she woke, Sky tried desperately to rouse her family, but they were non responsive. Nothing she did could wake Miko or Toboe. Not licking, or pushing, or scratching or biting. Not even when she frantically pounced upon Miko's face and slid off did Miko's eyes open again. Sky was startled when more noises could be heard at the door. More strangers there to hurt her, she was sure. So she scrambled as quickly as she could out into the Chershire night.
Personality: Sky is, by nature, a very friendly and playful feline by nature. She is filled with energy and curiosity. But she has withdrawn into herself some after recent events that caused her to become a stray.
She is kind and helpful toward other cats and feels no animosity toward anyone of feline decent, less they give her just cause to be wary around them. She adores kittens and will always care for them as if they were of her own litter. Mostly, kits just make her happy and comfortable.
Toward dogs, Sky holds a wary curiosity. These are creatures she has not had much experience with, but she has found that some are kind to cats while others are extremely violent and would rather chase and kill a cat than look at a cat. So Sky is always cautious around new dogs, maintaining a high ground and easy escape routes. But she is more than happy to forge friendships with dogs. She treats puppies the same way she would treat a kit.
Sky loves women and children. She has nothing but fond memories of women and their kits from when she lived with her own humans. But Sky becomes scared around human males, even to the point of reacting violently if cornered. As soon as human kits age and the little boys come to school-age, Sky becomes immediately wary and horribly terrified of them. Human males were cruel, evil creatures that should be avoided at all costs.
Sky is not a particularly good hunter, but she is an excellent scavenger. Her particularly distinguished sense of smell is very helpful in locating a great amount of food. She also has amazing reflexes, allowing her to doge most anything, whether it be cars in the street, humans walking by or the clawed paw of a hostile cat, or the snapping jaw of a hungry dog. She is very adamant on maintaining a clean, healthy coat, and it shows. She is also amazingly good at healing wounds inflicted by animal, vehicle or human alike. She is extremely protective and loyal to those who are friends to her.
However, Sky does have her fair share of bad habits, including her spastic reactions toward human males. She is also tidy to the point of being OCD about her nest. Though, to a human eyes, it may seem like nothing but a pile of rubbish, Sky spent several days and weeks scrounging up some of the blankets and towels from her old home out into the street nearby and into a small hole she had dug into a neglected flowerbed full of dead or dieing vines and various other plants. It was meticulously built and she feels she absolutely must maintain the cleanliness or she would simply have a fit of hissing and spitting and thrashing about, which would simply cause even more of a mess.
You see? Spastic.
