History:
Caddy was born in the town dump, on top of all that rubbish that the humans had no use for anymore. His mother was owned, and her name was Lark Sorrowleaf, also known as Golda by the humans. His father was a stray, Pigeon Sundance. However, Lark was treacherous. She only wanted kits, not a mate following her around everywhere she went. In two hours, Pigeon was dead, and his blood turned the trash crimson.
Lark had had four kits: Gold Sundance, Saffron Sundance, Rose Sundance, and Cadmium Sundance. She named them after colors. Saffron died soon after she was born, and Lark couldn't take it. She wouldn't eat, she wouldn't sleep, she wouldn't let the kits nurse. Only Gold and Caddy, or Sunshine and Robin Hood, survived.
As a kit, Gold strived to prove she was better than Caddy again and again and again. Poor Caddy and his sweetness, and gentleness. But then again, Caddy was always taller than Gold, and could beat her in a play-fight anyday.
Then, however, came the day Gold died. Caddy and her had been scratching at the front door. The human, a middle-aged, single woman named Sara, absentmindedly pushed the door open. At the busy road, Gold bragged, I bet I can cross the street, and not you.
Mama wouldn't want us to, but if you want to, okay. was his gentle reply. Caddy enraged Gold. She always wanted to get an angry reaction out of him. She wanted to see the day he broke and ran after her screaming 'I'LL GET YOU!' All she got was a sweet, curt answer.
You better not try it. You'll get killed. I can do it, though. Gold sneered. She darted across the road, not looking at the huge car coming toward her. There was a sickening crunch - and a screech that made Caddy want to go out there and see what was wrong. He did. Darting between cars, he made his way to her still form and dragged it to the sidewalk. They had a conversation that changed his mind about Gold altogether.
Are you okay?
No.
Why not?
Do you know how I keep sneering at you?
Yeah.
Well....I'm sorry, Caddy.
Then, her life slipped through his paws like the breeze.
The next few days were lonely and quiet. It seemed almost as if Caddy was in depression. He was rescued from the dark hole of depression when Sara bought a new cat - Dalila - who woke Caddy up - in an unexpected way. Dalila, or Lila, always called Caddy RH, for Robin Hood, instead of Caddy. She never let Caddy alone. She was so full of questions he thought his poor brain would burst.
However, soon Sara had to move all the way to the other side of the country. She gave Caddy and Lila to the animal shelter.
Caddy hated it at the animal shelter - everything was gray. Even his food was a gray-brown color! Lila was in the same cage as him and annoyed him 24/7. Caddy was about to scare Lila out of talking anymore and attack the shelter staff, when Mr. Brown came along. Mr. Brown was a middle-aged man with an angry tilt of his eyebrows and a wrinkled face. He was a very cold person.
Caddy was used only because Mr. Brown wanted to look good. Every time guests came, Caddy would have to pretend to be happy (or be whipped). Other than that, he was locked in a doghouse that reeked of canine. Plus, Mr. Brown often became drunk.
Once, Mr. Brown was very drunk. He accidentally forgot to close the doghouse door. Caddy raced outside, leaping over the fence, ignoring Mr. Brown's yells. A glass vase burst into his tail. Caddy yelped and let out a high-pitched yowl. He swung his head to spit crossly at Mr. Brown before he leapt over the fence. To the other side of his world.
Personality:
Caddy burns with a fierce energy that almost lends wings to his paws. He is what other cats call 'ready-for-anything', which indeed, he is. He hates trying to be what he isn't. He can also be calm and sweet, and never gets angry very quickly. He hates fighting, mostly because he is very good at it and he is afraid he will kill someone someday. He almost never shows his emotions. It's like a brick wall, except one that can easily be broken. It's harder than it seems; when you talk to him as a newcomer, he will seem regal but friendly, with a habit of hiding his emotions far from view. However, its simple - all you have to do it flatter him. As for mating, he would prefer not to, mainly because he doesn't think he would be a good father, and because he just...doesn't want to go through love.
Toward other cats he is extremely friendly and welcoming. Sometimes it seems like he has multiple personalities; he sort of does, because he tries to use one personality to make friends with another cat. However, he does not answer personal questions to cats who aren't in his rather large circle of friends. He likes making a variety of friends. He is rather talkative once you get to know him, and he enjoys chatting and hunting.
Caddy, if he saw a dog, would actually try to make friends with it. He is that outgoing and friendly. However, if it is hostile to him, he will most likely be frozen to the spot with fear. Caddy can fight fine, yes, but fear is not something he deals with well. His mouth gets all dry and his eyes get wide until they're like lakes. He gets so stiff he feels like his legs are so brittle that if someone touched them, they would break. However, if another cat gave him a little push in the right direction, sure as anything, he would shake himself and start doing his job. As a cat.
Caddy, however much he likes other animals, HATES humans. He has a whole GRUDGE against them. He feels like ATTACKING them when he even SEES them. It's true. Mr. Brown and the shelter staff have made a hard, solid, wall of hate every time he sees humans. He'll hiss and spit, and ripple his back into the air. He would even bite a baby's hand, and spit at the mother if it kicked him. Humans were stupid, they hated cats, and they didn't understand anything. In his book, humans thinks cats are not living beings, and don't have feelings, and they can just hurt them over and over and over and the cat will still love them. WRONG.
