New site or re-vamp?

Dude, c-box was getting soooo crowded xD So I'm thinking we should make a thread for this instead, to make things a little more organized.

Our options consist of:

• A new site, with everything begun over again and having the option of bringing your old charries back or starting with new ones, or-
  
• Some major renovation to the point of anyone that hasn't logged on in the last two days will be deleted. Seriously. Doesn't matter how much we love ya, this has to be done, hard as it is T.T
  

Or, ya know, simplified,

• New site.
  
• Reconstruction.
  

So, I'll start a poll. Wowzers, huh?

If anyone else would like to elaborate, please tell us what you would like to do. And just because you post here doesn't mean you won't be deleted! I'm thinking we should burn down to like, under twenty people, no joke.

Oh yeah, also thinking, if in the end people would prefer just changing this place instead of the new site, then we should delete like EVERYTHING, like all the games (since they're getting pretty old xD We can start them over) and relationship trackers and old bios.

And any charries that you aren't particularly active with, probably want to leave behind with the history. I think I'm probably gonna give up Summer (T.T) and MAYBE Coon, but I'm plotting with him right now so I doubt it.

I personally think we should just go ahead and make a new site, it's way easier for the dead-ness and if people need anything like Bios, relationship trackers, etc. We can give them to them. It helps as well as not having like a bajillion archieves and such...and if some members wanted to continue with a thread that they were in (i totally doubt that anyones really into a thread right now) you can always copy/paste the posts by a member.

And you can keep this site up for maybe a week or two for everybody that still wants to join to retrieve their stuff. Basically just move everything, except for the inactive members and their threads. There's also a bunch of biographies that are incomplete that need to be completed. So, it'd get rid of the members that made the thread a few hundred years ago but never logged on again and never completed it (that honestly bugs me to death).

But, alas, that's just my personal preference.

Yep. I voted for new site as well, just give us a chance to start anew. And thanks for pointing that out Sea, I forgot that part xD We'll put together all the points on all of your accounts and add them to your new account on the new site, of course- if that's happening.

Okay first off, sorry for taking so long on the new site. BUT going over all this, I mean... guys if people are gonna be keeping their characters and points and stuff I think it makes a hell of a lot more sense to stay here and just clear a lot of stuff out. Because staying here means:

- Have a 3 day activity check, delete everyone that doesn't post
- Archive ALL threads (none of the current ones seem to be going all that strong)
- Redo the census (basically start over instead of just removing everyone's info cause it will be faster since almost everyone is gettind deleted)
- And I can maybe make a new skin

And then BAM, we're brand new. If we move to a new site, I have to do all the coding (which is a WIP as of now, set up a skin, write up rules, do the boards, just so much more work. PLUS move over whatever people do want :/

So I dunno, I mean I know I'm not around much and I'm busy but I'm personally leaning towards staying here and clearing a ton of stuff out/banishing a ton of stuff to the archives because I think it would be so much faster, realistically. I just don't see the point, honestly, when we have everything here. We'd just need to delete stuff.

OKay. I logged in. It just looks so funny without the avvie and stuff.
I do think starting anew would be good... Sooo, why don't we just start all over here. Lu can keep the boards and categories and stuff, but delete ALL the threads. If we want to keep any of our charries' biops, we can save them in a word document and then let Lu rip... And when you delete threads, you still have all your points and stuff, so that would be the same. The the site can have an activity check and get rid of all the dead people. Then we can fix up the site as a community, and then advertise as a new site, or a grande re-opening...?

Just my opinion, because I love this place, and anyway, who wants to rememorize a url, anyway? x333 JK. XP

I have to agree wit Lu on this one. Making a new site, duz take a lot of skills and effort and time, even wit 3 ppl makin it. it wud take a while to move EVERYTHING over there. but if we jus archive everythin here, we'll always have it. Lu and u guyz hav put soooo much effort into Carpe Diem, and we wudnt want to lose that. i dont want this jus to b a memory, i still wanna b here.

i ges, makin a new site wud sorta free up sum space, and u cud always copy and paste things, and keep this up so ppl can go back and get their old stuff, but it wud take a lot of work.

overall, im gonna have to go wit stayin here.

Hey, Yeah I mean I don't know about deleting everything because I'm paranoid like that and would prefer to keep it in the archives. But we can hide them all away there, do the same for all the OOC threads and then that'll clean things up a bit. And then delete almost all the accounts and stuff and do a ton more advertising as the "re-opening" of Carpe Diem, it'll be really fun and all, I think. And then yeah, we get to keep the post history and the points and stuff and you can keep whatever characters you want and delete the other ones. I personally am just going to be keeping Indigo and maybe Kestrel. The Brokendaze family has officially ran off btw, except for Pistachio lol. Cause we have some great characters and plots here and I think it would be a shame to start over. We've also got so many skins here and just so much time has been put into this site, like soooo much time, I think it would be a shame to leave it.

But that's just me.

I voted for new site, but actually, I think that Lu is extremely convincing xDDD So I guess since you were so cool abotu everything, I forgot about how hard it would be for you to do everything over again, essentially the same things we're doing right now.
