Ooc; Anyone who wants to save Eclipse is free to post here lol.
Though fall was still a ways off and the weather was still warm every now and then a cool breeze would blow through, almost as though to remind the animals that the weather was to turn cold soon, that in a few short months, it would be time to prepare for the cold winter ahead. One of these cool breezes blew through now, ruffling the shadow colored fur of the fae in question. It was mid afternoon and Eclipse was taking a stroll through one of her favorite places to think; the forest. The lightweight fae’s footsteps made little to no noise as she cut her way through the thick, untouched brush. It was times like these that Eclipse felt really connected with nature, when she was alone in the forest and it was just her and the things around her. It was also times like these that were best for thought.
Slowing her pace further Eclipse glanced around, it would seem quiet to some, but on the contrary a lot was happening. Birds were chirping, bugs were buzzing, squirrels were chattering and many other things as well. Sighing softly Eclipse watched the way ahead of her, allowing her mind to wander. Eclipse allowed herself to think back on her first encounter with another cat here in Nenbrook, Jarrah, and a small smile formed on the psychic’s maw, her first friend since she’d left the lab back almost a year ago, and her only feline friend. It was nice having someone Eclipse could call a friend after so long, someone she felt she could trust.
Suddenly, a soft chirping sound caught the ebony fae’s attention and she stopped, her ears flicking to follow the sound. “Who’s there?” She asked, a silly question really, as whatever was making the noise obviously couldn’t talk. Moving closer to the source of the sound Eclipse spotted a baby bird on the ground at the base of a tree. It was almost fully grown, but it’s feathers had yet to completely grew in, so it couldn’t yet fly. “Poor thing…” Eclipse muttered softly, any other cat might of taken the bird as a snack, but Eclipse wasn’t about to let such a small thing just die.
Knowing the mother bird would never accept the baby back with the smell of cat all over it, Eclipse quickly found a large leaf, and with the help of a stick, urged the baby bird onto it. Carefully picking up the leaf so the baby bird wouldn’t fall out, Eclipse slowly began to climb the tree. It took the ebony fae a good while, but she was finally able to find the nest and return the bird to it. Content with herself Eclipse hopped down to the ground and smiled, looking back up at the tree. “There” She said and nodded once before turning and starting off on her walk again.
If anyone had seen the fae’s action they may have thought she was crazy, passing up a meal like that, but she wasn’t particularly hungry and even if she was should would never kill a defenseless creature. She would much rather try and take down a healthy rabbit or rat that had every chance to get away as she did in catching it. The only time Eclipse would kill a creature that didn’t have a chance was if it was suffering already and it would be kinder to put it out of its misery. But in the case of the chick, it was just too young to look after itself, and she had no right in just killing it.
Eclipse had zoned out again at this point and hadn’t been paying attention to where she was going. If she had, she would have realized she was headed into trouble. By the time Eclipse realized what had happened, the ebony fae had stumbled into a clearing, playing in the clearing were three baby foxes. ‘Oh dear…’ She thought as the cubs noticed her and started to cry, and before Eclipse could react the mother was between the psychic and her kits. Eclipse attempted to take a step back to try and get away, but before she could act the mother fox was at her throat.
Eclipse could do nothing to help her current situation, if she moved the mother fox was sure to strike and kill her. And if she didn’t move, she’d be dead anyways. ‘Perhaps… This is my time to go…’ She thought and squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for the pain of the vixen’s teeth to sink into her flesh.
