Rays of sunlight shone down onto Taro's spread brown pelt. The few black blotches she had felt warmer than the brown, because of the heat it attracts. Taro had recently been through a rough life, and she had raced away from that. Her wanting for peace and differ was growing, and so she decided to come to a close by park.
She wondered to herself if there were other cats here. Craning her neck, she took a 360 gaze at the whole pasture. This splace was fairly small, but there where many humans settled here. She licked down the rising fur, and reminded herself that not all humans are evil. She cleared her mind, thinking only good thoughts, and rose to her quivering paws.
As if she was testing her own thoughts, she walked up to a complete stranger, mewing her such different mew. Meeoff Her orbs grew huge and round, staring up at the young yet adult female. Her golden eyes slightening into slits as the sun appeared out of the clouds; the quick change in brightness was strange to her, but she soon got familiar with it.
The human reached down to her, and Taro's eyes widened in happiness. But the human retreated, probably thinking to herself if it was the right thing to do. The feline's bottom lip quivered with displeasure, and her orbs turned sad. The human must have felt bad for her, so she reached farther down, and rubbed Taro's ear softly.
Purring deep in her throat, she licked the friendly human, and wound her tail around her wrist. The human stopped almost as soon as she started, but Taro didn't care much. She soon left, searching for any other human who would be nice to her. She spotted a young teenage couple not far from where she was. Trotting happily over to them, she Meeoffed and looked cutely up at them. The girl atoamatically got a loving look spread across her face, as for the boy, he smacked Taro across the head. Taking a few steps back, Taro heard the girl scream at the guy beside her. The male said a few words back to her, but she still looked unhappy. Taro walked quickly away, not looking back.
Not wanted anything more to do with the humans around her, she stumbled into shade provided by a huge cedar tree. Many leaves were shed on the ground, from the upcoming autumn season. Laying comfortably down, she rolled onto her back. Wriggling around, and hitting the ground with her paws, she sprawled the leaves into the air. The sweet cedar aroma spread in the air, and Taro laughed as the leaved rained down on her.

The nice, cool autumn day offered a peaceful time to lounge around and contemplate your life on a full stomach. Because, really, what was thinking if you weren’t doing it on a full stomach? It was nothing; It was a fraction of what it could be, not entirely a thought, more like an inkling of one. And, although the tom had just eaten, he had these thoughts, these sort of not-really-full-thoughts. Snatches of information that were being processed in his brain. It was all so overwhelming, now; All that he had been missing. Like, for example, the way that clouds sometimes covered the sun, making these pretty rays of light come out. More like shafts of light, or tendrils of light, really. He had never really had time to do that before, really… To really notice his surroundings; Although, he did once, but he had forgotten.
After he was finished having his back being broken constantly by the amount of worry and stress that he seemed to have been unconsciously giving himself… He had time to enjoy the days. Of course, he still worried about some things. He always worried about Daisy; that never changed, but… It was much less now, now that he knew she was safe. Not entirely herself, but safe, and that alone was a blessing, really. After that encounter at the waterfall, well… It would take some work, but, no matter. Right now, he had a chance to just relax. He hoped that, while he did this, she didn’t get into too much trouble.
It was an odd place for Wolf to pick to relax. On the fringes of a park, behind a tree, in the range of screaming, laughing human offspring, talking human adults, and those in-between adult and young humans doing whatever it was they did. Really, to Wolf, those kinds of humans were the strangest, but that was his opinion. It wasn’t exactly a quiet place to sit and relax, but that soothed him. How? He didn’t want to be wrapped in silence right now. To him, at the moment, the noises of life was euphonious. Here, in this spot, within the shade of a cedar… It was a perfect place for him at the moment.
The brown tabby lifted his head as he heard a human scream at another human very close to where he was currently resting. He blinked his gold eyes. He had almost fallen asleep. Standing up, he peeked out from behind the tree to see what upset the humans. His stunning golden eyes immediately flicked over to train the cat that had disturbed the humans. He was curious as to why the she-cat had approached the two, but he wasn’t a very social cat, and was too sleepy to try to be a conversationalist at the moment. So, instead of starting a conversation, he shrugged and laid back down. It was only when the she-cat laid down on the other side of the trunk of his cedar tree that he got annoyed.
He had hoped for a nice, peaceful day with no confrontations with others of his species. Too much to ask? Quite obviously. Where did he think he was, Silent Folk Town? No way. He was in the spiffy town of Nenbrook, also known as Psycho Folk Town. Have a nice stay. Standing up again, he stretched and yawned, fully awake now. Wolf walked around the trunk to confront the she-cat and inquire about why she was so keen to disturb his peaceful resting. ”Do you think you can act like a kitten somewhere else?” He said softly, but in a firm voice, staring down improvingly at her actions,
So nice to meet you. I hope I never see your face again. [/i][/b] Lyrics: Devil Beside You - The Used

Narrow orbs were set upon the mottled pelt of the brute beside her. The sassy side of her was starting to show, and she got up from the pile of leaves. Excuse me for trying to have some fun! At least I don't sit around and do nothing like a lazy potato like you! Her voice cracked at the last second, and to even it out, she spat a hiss at the annoying fur ball.
She turned her back, but before she left, she sprayed leaves into his face with her hind foot. Stay away from me... Her voice was quiet now, and her eyes were back to normal, but her mind was different. She was just trying to have some fun on this beautiful day. Why did this cat have to come along and ruin it? She spat to herself in disgust, and gave one more glance behind her.
Although he seemed annoyed, he didn't seem to upset, and Taro thought maybe she should appologize. She always felt bad after she did something mean... Taking a deep breath she continued walking, and found another patch of shade under a small holly bush. She rested a bit, letting herself have some space before she went to talk to the tom again.
It felt like an hour had past before she'd returned to the cedar tree, but really only a minute or two had gone by. Hey. She called to the tabby on the side of the tree. Looking down at the ground, she walked closer. Before she turned to face him, she took a big, but quiet, reasuring breath. Sorry about earlier. I get like that when others bother me. She stopped for a second, wondering if the feral would reply. She sighed. Let's start over, k? Hello, my name is Taro Dewleaf. I have just escaped from my jail house, and don't know any cats around here. What is your name, and, how long have you been around?
Her whole body went tense. She didn't know what this brute would think about her often mood swings, and hoped they wouldn't start a fight. Taro didn't enjoy mean cats, nor fighting. Plus, this cat looked strong, fierce, and deffinately proud; he probably wouldn't give an easy fight.
As if to say everything would go well, the clouds parted, letting the sun appear and warm their fur. Taro blinked in delight, but didn't turn her attention from this new cat in front of her. The trees around her rustled in the breeze, and leaves flaked down, seeming to fall from the sky. The smell of Autumn with thick in the air, which relaxed Taro, but she couldn't help thinking about what things would be like when winter struck. Bringing her mind back to the present, she focused on the burnete tabby tom, awaiting his reply.
Despite the fact that you're here, Im f i n e

Her comments that were encased in a fine coating of hostility really didn’t faze him. Honestly, he was way too used to people reacting like this to his unpractical to most but sure-fire way to avoid any social interactions approach. The she-cat’s response was just one in many, all of these fuzzy-around-the-edges memories shoved to a corner of his mind where they were free to intertwine and become no more than forgotten, jumble strands of once-memories that drifted into oblivion, only rarely probing back into the forefront of his mind, where he would recall such a reaction, get a strange feeling of deja vu, before the memory was gone as quickly as it had come, almost as if these wispy memories were rabbits, peeking their heads out of their warren, looking around for danger, then disappearing within the blink of an eye if any disturbance were to frighten them. And then, these rabbits would run; They would sprint to the farthest corner of the warren and remain there before they felt it was safe to venture out once more.
But, really, enough about rabbits, as we are talking about a Wolf here. Not necessarily a Wolf, but the Wolf. That is, using the term wolf as a proper noun, not describing the animal canis lupus but our dear friend, that is to say, Wolf. Who, currently, was craning his neck around to pick a dead leaf out of his sable-striped brown fur that had managed to cling onto him after the leaf-assault the she-cat had inflicted upon him. When this task was complete, he merely dropped the brown, crumbling leaf to the ground and resumed his afternoon activity. Which was enjoying the moment of peace and quiet he had fought so hard for just now. Then it dawned on him as he mused aimlessly; A cat in this town had actually gotten the message that he didn’t want to talk to them. What a spectacular event.
Oh, but what a shame, his bubble was burst as the she-cat returned to his comfy spot beneath the cedar tree. He sighed. Were all the cats daft here? What was happening to his species? Couldn’t they take the hint? Get the message? Or did he have to spell it out? He actually considered the idea of spelling out exactly how he wanted to be left alone. But how would he word it? G-O A-W-A-Y or, perhaps, L-E-A-V-E M-E A-L-O-N-E? Something along those lines, of course. He could make it as direct as he’d like; Though making it a long sentence would be amusing if the cat in question did not perform up to standards, that is, failed to grasp the meaning. But perhaps this would offend the cat? And he definitely did not want to repeat the whole Indigo thing, Just thinking about that made him want to hiss. So the best thing to do would be… To talk to her. Wonderful. There goes the day.
He sat up, sighed quietly, and then began addressing the situation at hand… Answering the questions with the least amount of enthusiasm as possible in hopes the she-cat would get bored and leave. Immediately, he had an insult ready, but swallowed hard. He didn’t want this cat to start crying and screaming at him. Instead, he ignored her apology to lessen the chance of this occurring. ”Wolf Sharpstone is my name,” He replied, blinking. What was a Taro? He had never heard it before. Oh well. He never wanted to know everything. ”How long have I been around? That’s too general. Do you mean as a stray or as a breathing feline?”

The golden brown femme was actually surprised to see this tom reply so calmly, she would have expected him to turn his back on her and not even speak. She smiled to herself, but pulled it off as she noticed his opts on her. Wolf, what a cool name. She looked kindly up at the maple feline, and quietly answered the question he had responded to her own. Oh, how long have you been a stray, or lived in this part of town. She waited for his answer quietly, and made no move to come closer or back away.
Taro looked at the leaves that she had kicked up at him, and she suddenly felt bad at her changing personalities. She hated when she became like that, when she got so mad or iritated she just couldn't keep herself from doing certain things.
Leaves drifted down from the tree that both cats had originated from. Some landed upon Taro's black, brown, and golden blotched pelt, the others on the zigzag stripes down Wolf's pelt. She blinked as one of the leaves landed on her head, and she was about to swing her head and pounce on it when she remembered that it would iritate Wolf. She sighed and merely nodded it off quietly, and carried on as if nothing had happened.
This wasn't the normal Taro. Usually she was hyper, playful, and always running around. But she didn't know if it was the way this brute acted, or if it was him himself that made her feel calm, more relaxed. Around him she just wanted to kick back and relax, and she wondered why. She had noticed that the brute hadn't ever really smiled, not even once! And he was always just sighed and laying around. Also, most cats' optics are ful of energy, and shows emotion and happiness, but this cat showd no emotion in his eyes, but they almost looked depressed or stressed out in some way.
What are you waiting f o r
Admin's Note on November 27th: This thread is being archived due to inactivity, sorry. We'll say that Taro and Wolf talk a bit more and then go their own ways.
OOC: Sorry, kinda short...
