OOC: This post was made for Shadow, but other’s can join if Lucy’s fine with it Bright green eyes peaked around a tree as Ivy watched the humans and their children play at the park, it looked like a lot of fun, but not a dog’s kind of fun. ‘ I don’t think I can climb up a latter and slide down a slide…’ She thought, frowning slightly, though she’d never really tried before, maybe she could! Walking out from behind the tree Ivy walked over toward the park, her tail wagging back and forth happily. Several younger children crowded around her and she grinned at them, her tail wagging more as a few of the children started to pat her. “ He’s so pretty!” Cooed one of the children and Ivy blinked. ‘ I’m a she thank-you-very much’ She thought, licking her maw slightly. It was then one of the parents walked up and bent down next to Ivy, looking at her collar. “ There’s no tags… And this collar looks really old… Common kids, it’s not safe being close to a dog when you don’t know who owns it, she could bite” The woman said, scooting the kids away from her. ‘ Well there goes my fun…’ She thought and glanced around slightly, looking for something interesting to do. Spotting a couple of people playing Frisbee Ivy’s tail began to wag again and she ran toward them, jumping up and catching the Frisbee in her mouth. “ Hey!” One of the man yelled at her and she blinked, looking over at him, confused as to why he was mad at her for joining in. The same man that had yelled started to advance on the pup and she laid her ears back slightly, dropping the toy on the ground. The man picked it up and began to shoo her with it. “ Scram, shoo, get out of here!” He snapped and she huffed, fine, obviously she wasn’t wanted here. Turning on her heel Ivy trotted off back to the edge of the park and sat down in the shade, panting softly and yawned. She was bored.

ooc ;; Sure! I'm fine with it!
The park. A field of beauty to the old dog. A smile along his maw as he took himself inside onto the soft settling grass beneath his pads, it felt so much softer than that horrid concrete, and that just made his paws ache. The golden retriever entered without caution or any hesitation, rather, he walked in slowly. His age was increasing, and sadly, his ability to run or walk was decreasing. Yet Shadow kept himself strong and enjoyed his life as it was.
The heat was once again unbearable to the old guy, tongue lolling from his maw as the long haired retriever took himself to the center of the park underneath the comfort and shade of a tree. Sitting himself down softly and carefully he admired the scenery of playing children. He even spotted a few playing with puppies and other dogs who in an extent, spotted Shadow, came over sniffed and then returned to their play.
Shadow wasn't as active before and wasn't too interested on the greeting of another dog as much as he used to be. Rather, he preferred to live his life peacefully and in the comfort of whatever the weather it may seem. His brown eyes picked up a husky, a very active one of that, and he gave a light chuckle to the thought of how lovely it would be to play once again, but his old bones weren't as they used to be. Sadly, if Shadow tried to play, he would probably start to ache within a matter of minutes.
He watched closely as the husky approached before passing him allowing him to catch her scent, and it was a female aroma before he watched her settle down on the edge of the park. Shadow kept his smile before standing and most calmly, followed her before approaching with a wide grin. "I'm afraid the humans around here are not too fond of us." His tail wagged, that bushy coat of his being swayed by the wind slightly. "God. Where are my manners? My name is Shadow. Lovely to meet you." He gave a nod in a sort of friendly gestured bow.
Now if I was one to know that dogs greeted each other by the sniffing of another's rear, Shadow was more of a socialized fellow, and if I must say. This was way of greeting was A LOT better. By all means.

Ivy let out a soft yawn as she watched the people and other dogs play in the park, she didn’t understand why they had all shooed her away, she wasn’t going to hurt them, oh no Ivy was too nice to hurt anyone… On purpose, anyways. The sound of paws approaching her caused Ivy to shift her position and look over at the older male as he drew closer to her. Smiling at him Ivy pulled herself to a sitting position, the grin on his face wiped away any nervousness with ease and her tail began to wag slightly, exited about the idea of meeting someone new.
As the brute spoke to her Ivy gave a nod. “I noticed… I don’t get why, though, it’s not like I want to hurt anyone… I guess they wouldn’t know that, hm?” She said, a small, innocent smile on her maw. Generally Ivy would have more of a hyper approach to meeting new creatures, but Ivy could tell that this brute was older, and she didn’t want to scare him off before she was able to get to know him. Licking her maws slightly Ivy started to pant softly; it was a pretty hot day, even in the shade with Ivy’s heavy coat. ‘I much prefer the colder weather of winter… Oh well’ She thought, her tongue lolling out of her mouth slightly as she watched the older male.
As he introduced himself Ivy grinned and gave a nod. “I’m Ivy, Ivy Goldthorn, it’s nice to meet you too, Shadow” She said, her tail swishing back and forth in a wag. “Do you live around here? I haven’t been here long, but it seems like a nice place” She said, smiling still at the older male as she tried to bring up some kind of conversation. Ivy was really the talkative type and loved a good conversation almost as much as she loved to run around and play… Almost.
OOC: Bit short =/ sorrehs.

“I noticed… I don’t get why, though, it’s not like I want to hurt anyone… I guess they wouldn’t know that, hm?” Shadow gave a sigh to the thought. "No..." Humans never did seem to think, just like his 'recent' owners, they never really did love or think about him as much before they just abandoned the poor old guy. “I’m Ivy, Ivy Goldthorn, it’s nice to meet you too, Shadow” He gave a small nod in greeting and also in thanks. “Do you live around here? I haven’t been here long, but it seems like a nice place”
Shadow watched her before looking around the area himself. "Why yes. I've lived here for over 5 years of my life." He gave a slight chuckle. "It is a beautiful place might I add. Most of the time it is peaceful." He looked back to Ivy with a smile on his face, tail swaying just like hers in happiness of the meeting of another dog. "I say now that you will love it here. There are many cats to meet as well, and the occasional mean dog.." He shook his head to the thought of those big nasty brutes, why could they not have proper feelings for other animals?
He waited for a moment before thinking. He did feel like running around a bit, get his energy back as well for the fact, the poor old guy had not played or had 'fun' ever since he left his owners, which he admitted, he missed dearly. He stood before looking around, then back to Ivy again, tail wagging still. "Ivy. This may sound a bit odd coming from an old coot like me." he paused before his smile grew to a wide satisfied grin. "Care to play?" He let out a bark of joy before bowing down in a playful method. He could tell that she was younger and loved to play.
He would be more than happy to get his memories back, and especially with another dog who seemed to be so energetic as well as pretty and friendly. Shadow needed this. He needed it a lot. He may be old, but he still had a heart so young and pure.

Ivy sighed softly at Shadow’s reply about the humans; they really didn’t seem to be that smart… Or that nice in most cases. ‘ My old owners were nice… But they left me… Maybe they weren’t so nice…’ She thought, frowning slightly as she remembered what had happened with her old owners, they had just upped and left her, at least, that’s what Ivy thought had happened. Remembering Shadow was still there Ivy turned her attention back to him and tilted her head, wondering for the first time why he was called ‘Shadow’ when he was golden in color. There were some things in life Ivy probably would never understand, the thinkings of humans being one of them, but that didn’t mean Ivy didn’t still wonder what the answers to these things were. As the brute began to answer her question she smiled and wagged her tail a little, nodding. “ That’s cool! I used to live on a farm, then came to live with humans, but they left me… So I ran away and came here!” She said and grinned slightly, flicking her tail a little, she wasn’t really mad at her humans for leaving her anymore, but it didn’t make her want to go back… Not that she could find her way back if she tried, of course. As Shadow said it was a beautiful place and normally peaceful Ivy smiled, nodding. “ That’s good! Of course, a little excitement every now and again is fun, but it’s nice that’s it’s peaceful here” She said with a giggle and a sweet, innocent smile. Wagging her tail still Ivy listened to the male talk about how she’d like it here, and about cats and other dogs and she nodded slightly. “ Really? Cats huh? I used to live with cats in my old family, I really don’t get why most dogs don’t like them… They really are sweet animals…” She said thoughtfully, not knowing the other canines thoughts on felines, but she didn’t really care. Ivy was one to speak her mind whether the other would like her for it or not. She was always herself, and that was a good thing, because when she found friends, she knew they liked her for who she was, not who she was pretending to be. “ It really is a shame how many mean dogs are around…” She muttered softly and sighed, glancing out at the other dogs playing at the park for a moment before back at Shadow. Sighing softly Ivy allowed her eyes top wander a bit from the brute in front of her, glancing around the park and up into the trees, no one seemed to be paying them any mind, which was probably a good thing. Looking back at Shadow, Ivy watched him stand up and she blinked, wondering if he was going to leave or something, it wasn’t like the conversation was going anywhere anyways, but Ivy didn’t really want to be alone. Blinking as he started to talk she giggled, he may have been old but he sounded like a sweet guy and someone she could get used to being around. As Shadow asked her to play Ivy blinked a couple of times then grinned and stood up, nodding. “ I’d love too!” She squeaked happily, her tail wagging excitedly for a moment before stopping and blinking a few times. “ But, what do you want to play? Tag? Hide and seek?” She asked, tilting her head slightly and grinning. “ I don’t really care, you can pick, if you want” She said, giving him a cute grin, her tail wagging again as she waited for him to suggest something for him to play. She’d never pass up a good game, that was for sure.
Admin's Note on November 27th: This thread is being archived due to inactivity, sorry. If you ever want to get it back up, lemme know. For now, we'll just say they play around a bit more.
