Cedar paced outside the barn, green eyes glancing in every direction. His tail twitching, he finally sat down to try and quell his nerves. I hope she remembers the meeting place and isn't too busy. His tabby face scrunched with worry. Cedar Silverweed had been giving his sister some space since they were first reunited. He wanted her to forget his embarrassing behavior as well as prepare to change himself. He was hoping...Praying that being with his sister would help him break out of his submissive and desperate behavior. He needed to change, wanted to change desperately. So maybe, if he learned to hunt and kill his own food, he could survive on his own two paws and not have to scrabble over Upwalker's left overs. Cedar was very unpleasant when he didn't have a full stomach, so maybe all the answers to his social problems could be solved with a little practice. He also got the bonus of seeing his beloved sister, Fern, again. Not many cats got to see their siblings again after the Twolegs separated them.He wanted to talk, to learn about her past, and bond over shared memories. He was torn from his thoughts by scrabbling claws and a delicious scent. But first, he had to eat!

Fern stepped lightly, practically gliding over the grass under her feet. Her head was held high like her tail, and she strode with pride. She was feeling quite upbeat for living as a stray for about a good week and a half. For once in her life she felt her confidence rising, especially because she finally learned how to hunt. Although it wasn't exactly her favorite past-time, but it kept her alive....for now. Magic, one of her favorite toms, had taught her how to hunt, teaching with a wounded rabbit.
At first the hunting gig sort of freaked her out. Never had she taken the life of another to benefit herself, so she came up with a plan for the future. She'd only attack those who were old or wounded...or deserved the pain. Like rats! If it was something Fern hated she hated rats. Ugly creatures that could grow to be three-fourths the size of a full grown cat. It was possible for them to kill kittens aswell.
Fern became angry with the thought, but she scampered on toward the farm. She followed the scent of warm hay in the barn, the fresh scent of mice, and the scent of a fellow feline. Cedar... She mewed happily and she picked up her step. Starting to dash through trees closing the gap between her and the barn, her chest heaved in and out. Her tail twitched a bit with her one coming nerves.
She missed her brother desperatly and she hadn't spent much time with him after she first met up with him on the old road. He had tried to attack them and she bounded in front of him, stopping him in his tracks. He was strong, she had to admit and she wanted to play wrestle with him as soon as possible. She wanted to break the ice that had gathered between them and let the water between them flow. The giant barn came into sight and she slowed to a walk. Looking around, caught a glimpse of her brothers spotted tabby fur.
Her ears were so sensitive she even heard his stomache growl. She bounded to hide behind a barrel and watch him hunt. She couldn't help but smile at the sight of her beloved brother. We'll catch up again, Cedar. I promise! We'll be the closest brother snd sister ever... She stared longingly at the tom and her heart drumed in her chest.
She felt such love for this tom, a different kind of love that comes from family. Her face turned a scarlet red and she breathed steadily trying to slow her heart, afraid Cedar would hear it. She crouched down till her belly fur touched the dry dirt and she wrapped her grey tail around her front paws. Purring silently she watched her brother stalk a possible meal.

Cedar located the mouse by scent and sound, following its minuscule noises. He padded almost silently through the grass, the long blades tickling his pink nostrils. The young tom, intent on his prey, crept forward at the sound of snuffling.Emerald eyes shimmering, he took a trembling step forward. His paw fell clumsily on the pebbly soil and the small rodent looked up abruptly. Both creatures locked eyes and froze. The hunter and the hunted were the only beings residing in that moment.A twitch of the golden tabby's tail broke the spell and the dove colored mouse sprinted for cover.Paws scrambling madly, the tom failed to catch the tiny beast as it dashed through a small hole in the barn. Spitting curses, Cedar sat on his behind and angrily began to groom himself, ears twitching in a vain attempt to hear his sister's arrival. He quivered excitedly, anxious to reconnect with his sister
Admin's Note on November 27th: This thread is being archived as Fern is becoming an NPC. We'll say the siblings talk and catch up.
