Magic's paws moved easily as he made his way into Fisher Park. Luckily, it was rather quiet today, not too many people out. Which was in his favor. Small triangular shaped ears were pricked listening for any noise that might hit his ears. Soft blue eyes scanned around as he saw a few families still sitting there, relaxing. A faint smile came to his face when he saw a baby playing with a few toys. He stopped to admire it before heading toward them. He mewed softly, getting the mothers attention. She reached out her hand to lightly pet Magic on the head, before handing him a piece of food. He hungrily snatched it gently, before trotting over to a remote area to enjoy its deliciousness.
There was a bit left over, which he was going to save in case he met any of his friends from the earlier rendezvous. He laid down under a tree, letting his back legs tuck against his body, forelegs stretched out in front of him. He let his harks twitch, hearing the soft murmurings of the family talking the faint engine roaring from the cars. It was a nice place though and it was the first time he was actually here. He made a mental note to himself to come here often because he actually found himself having a good time here.
His tail twitched and wrapped around his back legs. He lowered his muzzle a bit and licked the top of his paws, making sure there wasn't any dirt or debris on it. One thing Magic was a fanatic about was getting dirty. True he didn't mind it since he was a stray, and strays were bound to get dirty at some point, but that didn't mean they couldn't keep themselves clean and tidy right? Magic finished grooming himself and looked up, blue eyes catching the sunlight. A few birds took flight , their bodies dark against the soft blue sky. Another smile formed on his face as his whiskers twitched. A few flies buzzed around him and he flicked his ears to keep them away. But he was totally enjoying himself, lying here under the cool shade, basking in the contentment of the moment.
He wondered about Fern and the others, like where they were at this point in time. They had a lot of fun at the old road and he was hoping that he would bump into them again. Magic wanted to get to know Fern better, as well as Cedar and Robin. This was the first time he was actually feeling as though he belonged here, like he was one of the gang. It was a feeling that he hoped would last a long time. He sighed and watched, waiting eagerly.

The emerald eyed tabby pranced around the open field within Fisher Park. A slight breeze picked up and she stopped to take it in. The grass under her felt good and cool against her now hardening kitten paws. Being a stray had started to make her paws start to get hard and ruff, and she wasn't a fan. She had been to the park before and had met a tom by the name of Faux. Just thinking of him made a sheepish grin on her face "heh what a snob" Fern drank in the breeze to pick up any scents around her. Humans were so strange. They would wear liquid scents to mask their true scent. Sometimes the odors would burn her scences and she'd have to blow them out. She smelled maybe a couple of dogs a few yards away, some humans with their children, and...."Magic!" Fern mewed with excitment and lept into the direction of the scent.
She held her tail high and peered around desperatly for the tom. She kept her ears perked and her muzzle opened to stay in the right direction. She passed by a few families as they pushed their children around on their pusher with wheels. A house cat or two, who were sitting with their owners, mewed at her but she went on determined to meet up with a friend. As she pressed forward she saw the multi-splotch, white tom resting on a remote area of grass not to far away from the road. She smiled and mewed with happiness.
She came to a steady walk until she came within earshot of Magic. "Hey Magic! Hi!" Fern bounced in excitment toward Magic and sat neatly next to the well groomed tom. He smiled warmly toward her. She looked him up and down, he didn't have a speck of dirt on him. She tilted her head and looked at her own fur. Unlike Magic's, her fur was dirty. She hadn't given herself a good grooming since she was abandoned. Embarrassed her grey tabby face turned a slight shade of pink. "Excuse my dirtiness, heh" She started to lick her chest diligently trying to get every speck of dirt off, but it wasn't working out as she had planned...

Magic grinned as Fern came bounding toward him. He felt a gush of warmth at the site of her. His tail swept back and forth over the ground as she sat beside him, clearly embarrassed by the dirt that was sticking to her fur. He watched her licking her chest. Grinning again, Magic decided to help her out a bit and began gently grooming her head and ears.
"It's fine. Dirt just means you're not afarid to stick your paws into things that shouldn't be stuck ," he joked lightly and then stopped grooming Fern, incase she didn't want him to.
"So what brings you out here today miss Fern?" he asked warmly as his blue eyes caught the sunlight making them glitter almost like large round sapphires. A cool breeze whipped his fur in several patches. Ears were cocked toward Fern, listening for any signs of movement from her and lyrics. He blinked and shifted his weight a bit so that Fern didn't feel as though she was on top of him, crowding his space...which he wouldn't mind.
He'd never seen a tabby with her colored eyes so it was really striking to see them. He smiled at her again and let one ear cock back, listenign to the gentle breezes that wafted throug the trees. A few dead leaves fell to the ground and scampered across his path. He raised his own forepaw and quickly groomed it before lowering it back down and focused his attentino on Fern, waiting for her reply. He wondered about the others and where they were today. Probably out galavanting no doubt, which was great. Magic was happy that he'd made some friends and Fern was a good friend too. His pink nose quivered as he patiently sat there.

Fern continued to lick herself, and when Magic started to give her a paw at cleaning she was taken aback. "He's....helping..me?" Her muscles tensed up, but as he continued to groom her head and ear she relaxed, enjoying the gentle, raspy movements as his tongue curresed her. When he had stopped, Fern felt like something had gone missing, but she quickly pulled herself out of it. She turned her green eyes onto the tom and smiled "Thanks Magic, I appreciate that more then you know." She continued to clean herself, but it would probably take her a week to get completely clean and then stay that way. "So what brings you out here today miss Fern?" Fern looked up and caught a glimpse of the true magnificence in Magic's crystal blue eyes. They were truly like magic. She cocked her head to one side, amazed at the beautiful orbs before and and quickly remembered the question.
"Oh! hmm Well I'm not that great of a hunter, which you already know, so I caome around here for free scraps of food. I'll learn someday, but for know the atmosphere is great out here" She purred, her tail swaying back and forth, "I also met a cat out here the other day. He wasn't very nice, but I was determined to make a friend out of him yet" She giggled and turned to Magic. "So I came out here today hoping I would find someone interesting, and behold I did!" The afternoon breeze ran through the tree above and a squirrel came out of hiding only to retrieve a few nuts, and hide back inside. Fern inhaled, she didn't realize how happy she'd be if she found Magic again. She was ecstatic, her body shook with contentment.
"How about you Magic? Anything new? Has your tail told you any jokes lately?" Fern added the last part as a joke, remembering his tail was it's own living organism. She sat quietly, every once inawhile licking her chest, waiting for Magic to reply. OOC: Hope its OK XD

Magic listened to Fern's words. He nodded, knowing that Fern was probably the type of cat that would befriend anyone regardless of temperment. He smiled at her noble ways. Of course, one day Fern would come across someone that wasn't goign to be so kind and want her help. Magic began grooming his own chest at that point. His bushy tail swept back and forth, sweeping over the ground. He rememberd her joke about his tail and grinned at Fern.
"Naw not lately, although it did try to attack me earlier," he joked and then yawned. He heard how Fern wasn't a good hunter so he regarded her with both blue eyes and cocked his head to the side slightly.
"Well how about I teach you how to hunt?" he asked cheerfully and waited.
He had no problem teaching her. Plus, it would be a good thing for her to learn, incase there weren't any other cats around to help her get food. Hunting was one thing he learned on his own, sad to say, but it was necessary to learn in order to sustain himself living life on the streets. It was one thing major that he knew was improtant to learn.
He pulled himself up onto all fours and spread his legs, giving his body a rigour shake. Ears flapped against his head. Once he stopped, he turned his attention back on to Fern.
"Really it would be no problem...but only if you want," he added softly as both ears were cocked toward Fern, awaiting her response.
If she didn't want to learn, that was fine with him. He would never push her or anyone into doing something they didn't want to...unless of course, it was life or death. Making the smart choice to surviev was one thing Magic would force anyway, regardless. Life was more precious than anything else and it wasnt' to be taken for granted. Magic groomed his chest once again before raising his head and watched Fern, awaiting her response.

The grey tabby watched as the long haired tom got up on all fours and stretched. She admired his long pelt and the beautiful colored splotches around his sapphire eyes. She took in consideration of his offer to hunt and she felt every hair on her body stand on end. She was filled with such pure excitement she couldn't help but bounce up to all fours.
Her face turned a cherry red when she realized she had accidentely had lept onto Magic's forepaw. Her green eyes opened wide with apology "I'm so sorry Magic. Here let me-" Before Fern could think, she had lowered her head and given Magic's paw an apologetic lick. She backed away a step or two, her ears pressed back, and sat down like a guilty kitten, her tail neatly wrapped around her paws.
She looked down and softly answered his question. "I'd love a lesson, Magic. Thank you. I realize being a stray that you really do need to learn how to catch prey. And I really don't feel like depending on humans for the rest of my life." Fern grinned sheepishly to Magic.
Fern was so thankful she met with this tom. He seemed quite humble and he had a great sense of humor. Best of all he was going to teach her how to hunt. She couldn't imagine what it would be like if she hadn't met up with him. She smiled sweetly and decided to get up, more calmly this time and stretch herself. She looked up at the clear pink sky, "So late already? I feel like I just started this day" OOC: Sorry if its so short DX I keep writing and writing but it never seems to get any longer. >.<

OOC-Its okay! i dont care about the length XD IC: Magic smiled when she gave his paw an apologetic look. He shook his head dimssively and beamed at her.
"Why are you apologizing? It was done on accident. And wonderful come on I'll bring you to one of my favorite spots," he said brightly as he began padding away, but looking back over his shoulder to make sure Fern was coming.
She looked so sheepish that he had to chuckle a bit. She clearly thought she'd angered him on some level, but she hadn't. Perhaps she wasn't used to meeting polite and gentleman like Toms? Some Toms he knew only wanted one thing-to spread their bloodlines. But Magic wasn't like that. He peferred to take time to get to know a she-cat and not push anything on them. She-cats were delicate creatures that required patience and understanding. Why if he was a female, he'd want others to be understanding. His philosophy was that it takes guts to walk a mile in someone elses' paws. Which basically meant that before anyone says something about another, its' best to walk a mile in their shoes to see how it would feel. Not everyone had happy starts in life and had such glorious times as he did before hsi owners dumped him.
Some had rough starts in life and were abandoned. Magic knew that those were special because they now learned that living on their own didnt' make them any less wonderful than if they had humans living with them.
"I promise this place is wonderful," Magic said brightly to Fern as he waited for her to talk. He had hopes that she would love the area where he would bring her to. Hunting there was fairly easy. Then once she got the hang of it, he would bring her to a much more harder spot where the food actually chased back.

Fern perked up again as Magic started to move from his spot. His words of encouragement made her feel like she really didn't have to be afraid of every tom in the forest. She wasn't a fan of toms, espaecially if they were bigger then her, and more intimidating. Of course she expected to have kits one day, but to deal with a grumpy tom was not her idea of great fun. Magic seemed genuine and she liked him for the respect he gave her. Never in her life has she been respected by a tom, only looked upon like some toy. She scampered to her feet as Magic chuckled abit, his flanks shook.
The sun was setting and the bugs started to come out frome beneath their paws. Little fireflies made their way to the sky. Miniture suns to light the way after dark. Fern was absolutely ecstatic about hunting, especially with Magic. He was turning out to be a great friend. Come to think of it she hadn't really made many true friends so far.
As Magic promised the place would be great, Fern diligently knodded her head in agreement. "I believe you...So lets go hunting" She was ready to go, her tail held high and her emerald eyes shown. She bounced to Magic's side and mewed a silent Thank you. Her grey paws shook underneath her with anticipation. She looked to Magic who was standing next to her, and she smiled. She was filled with thanks.

Magic gave a dissmissve mew, as to let her know that it was nothing. He didn't mind one bit helping her. He loped along silently beside her, matching every stride with hers, like a living shadow. His blue orbs scanned around as they eventually came upon the area for hunting. Thickets were mostly found here, but there were also small animals such as rabbits and mice that scampered around. Magic stopped walking and immediately caught site of a small rabbit. He glanced to Fern.
"The main thing is to keep down wind from your new 'prey'. Be as silent as you can, tip toeing even. Even if it takes you a few moments before you can pounce, thats the better idea. It's just so your prey don't know you're coming" Magic explained to Fern as he crouched down low to the ground, letting his belly lightly drag against the undergrowth. Ears were flat back, forelegs slowly extending out, pulling him closer to the rabbit. Tail was held rigid behind him, clamped to his back side. Luckily there were many bright spots from the sunlight which kept him pretty much in chemoflauge, so it was up to his advantage. Magic never killed solely for fun and kicks. He only killed for food and hunger.
The rabbit's nose was quivering rapidly, but he knew that he was well up wind that the rabbit had no idea what was coming. Sure enough Magic leapt up from the ground, forepaws extending outward as he managed to pounce on the rabbit. He made sure the kill was swift and painless. He clamped his jaws around the rabbits small neck and bit down. It was fast. That was one thing he never liked to have his prey suffer. He always made sure the kills were swift. He carried the lifeless rabbit back to Fern and dropped it at her feet. He spied another rabbit not too far off. Magic turned his eyes on to Fern.
"Go on. Give it a try," he said brightly. He planted his rump on the floor, tail clamped against his back legs tightly, forelegs keeping his upper body erect. He watched her eagerly , blue eyes catching teh sunlight that poured in through the branches.

The tabby she-cat eyed the tom who strode next to her. Fern moved next to him, almost touching his long fur barley brushing against her pelt. They came upon a long grassed field. Fern inhaled slightly, This is going to be so exited. Magic looked around and saw what he was looking for. Fern watched diligently as Magic stole the show with his catching skills.
She furrowed her brow as she concentrated on his every move. Every muscle that pumped energy through the toms body as he pounced on the unsuspecting rabbit. Magic strode back to her claiming his prize and Fern was awe-struck at his grace. "That was amazing! Truly amazing..." Fern mewed and jumped to her paws. Magic nodded and encouraged her to try it herself. Her face became serious and she went into her "hunting mode".
She crouched low onto the grassy floor, her belly fur almost toughing the dirt ground. She spotted the rabbit Magic had suggested. A breeze picked up and she made sure to stand down wind, like Magic had done. Fern wasn't used to hunting and she wasn't sure if it was the right time to pounce but she did. The rabbit saw her in mid flight but she hit it hard over the head with her claws unsheathed.
The rabbit stumbled a bit, but befroe it could dash away Fern got a hold of the rabbit and bit down hard on it's neck. The rabbit lay limp, and Fern wasn't used to the warm liquid that flowed into her mouth and she looked to Magic with sadness swirled up in her green eyes. I killed it...... She had never killed anything in her life and she felt absolutely horrible. She sat down, appalled at her actions. Her eyes were wide with misundestanding.
"Magic, I killed it....There was such fear in it's eyes and I took it's life." She mewed sofly in Magic's direction.

Magic looked at Fern solemnly. He nodded and then sighed.
"I know. I don't like doing it myself. But unless we do it, we will not survive. I only kill to eat, which is to sustain myself or else I would perish. Those that only kill solely for food are doing it so they can survive. Those that kill solely for the sheer pleasure of killing, are worthless and dont' deserve to be living," Magic said quietly as he crouched down and began eating.
Once he was done, he began grooming himself, cleaning up anything that might've splashed onto his fur. He licked his front paw and then moved it over his forehead and behind his ear. His blue orbs looked at Fern.
"You must eat now. To kill and not eat is a waste and the animal would've died in vain. I know how hard it is. When I first did it, I couldn't move for a week. I felt so guilty. But then I realized if I didn't eat, I wouldn't be here now. My future would cease to exist and I would never have a chance at starting my own family. Gradually, I learned to push any thing aside and just do what I had to do. I'm not saying to forget it, but to Understand it."
He flicked his tail, forelegs keeping his upper body erect and ears were cocked forward, listening to Fern. He hoped she would understand that killing for food was one thing. Killing for te purpose of killing, that was another. The way of life was a brutal thing and at times he hated it, but did what he had to to survive. Magic gently placed his forepaw over Ferns before pulling it back.
"Besides, I think that rabbit was in pain. Did you see the injury on his back leg? The quality of life wouldn't be good. You did a good thing," Magic said softly to Fern as he sat and patiently waited. He killed those that were suffering or those that were elderly. Never the young and healthy. He watched her, orbs catching the light making them appear to glow.

Fern watched the tom as he tried hi hardest to reassure her that what she did was necessary and that he did it to survive. We will not survive..... Fern repeated hi words in her head. She nodded slightly to his words. She did understand and she was grateful for Magic. If she would have learned from any other cat, she probably would have died from starvation. Her stomache twisted into knots and she winced as she looked down at the dead animal lying in front of her. Warily looking up, she saw Magic eating his prized kill and she took in a deep breath.
She took in every word that Magic had to offer and she nodded at his kind words of wisdom. "You're right...If I want to survive out here and keep my generation running, I have to learn to live. No matter what it takes." Fern slowly looked down at her food and unhappily open her mouth and pulled apart a peice of the rabbit. As Fern began to chew she peered at the rabbit's hind leg. Wide eyed, Fern cocked her and a realized Magic was right yet agian. It was hurt....I guess myabe I did do the right thing...for both of us she mewed hardly audible. Her green eyes moved from the rabbit to Magic's paw that quickly brushed against hers and pulled away. She looked up and smiled sweetly.
After eating what she could without spitting it up, she still wasn't used to the texture but she would be soon, she heaved herself onto four paws. Licking her chest and then her paws to wipe her face, she then smiled to Magic, "You're a truly great friend Magic. I'm glad you were the one teaching me instead of another cat. I don't know how I would have reacted with another cat....Thank you." Fern dipped her head slightly and padded in Magic's direction. As she walked past him, she licked him gently on the ear.
The sky was growing to be a pinkish color when Fern brought up a topic for conversation. She was full and no longer hungry. She was very content and wanted to hang out with Magic a bit longer. She enjoyed his company and she didn't really want to think about where she'd be sleeping tonight. Teh past few nights she'd been bed-jumping and hadn't found a bed that was comfortable enough for her yet. Maybe she'd catch up with her brother, Cedar, and see what he's been doing. She turned to Magic know, "What do you plan to do out here? I mean where do you see your life heading?

Magic smiled at Fern. Once he had his fill, he felt warm and content. He cleaned his paws again and then watched as Fern walked toward him, giving him a lick on the ear before padding off again. Magic pulled himself up onto all fours and followed her. He walked along side her slowly, but matchign every stride perfectly like a living shadow. He cocked one ear toward her and listened as she asked him what he planned on doing out here and where his life was heading.
"Hmm. Well I definitely would like a family of my own some day. But first I have to meet someone for that to happen. Won't work with just me," he joked lightly but then turned serious. "But seriously, I do want a family of my own. It's nice to have the feeling of being a part of something like that. Feeling wanted and needed ya know? Basically to settle down,"
Magic glanced at Fern and smiled at her, blue eyes catching the moonlight.
"What about you?" he inquired curiously.
Magic's paws hardly made a sound on the ground as they walked. The breeze gently blew a few branches and caused them to bow and bend from the strength. Dead leaves scampered across their path but Magic's paws crunched over them, causing them to crumple into little pieces. The stars that was out now, twinkled merrily beside the moon, giving a little more ample lighting. Magic's tail was held up high behind him, curling sligtly over his back and swaying from the motion of the walk. To him, family was important. It was what kept you going when things got bad. They were there to support you and make sure that you were happy. Plus it was nice in Magic's opinion to care about someone other than yourself. Not that he cared only about himself, no, but you know what I mean. A gentle breeze ruffled Magic's fur as he glanced at Fern again, waiting for her response.

As Fern walked she listened atenively to the answer Magic was responding to. She nodded and felt in agreement with this tom. She wasn't used to having family because she was stripped away at such a young age, but she'd also love the warth and dependancy a family would provide her with. She wanted to feel like she belonged to something....anything. She smiled toward the tom as they walked side by side along the park sidewalk.
"Hmm well of course I'd like to have a family aswell. I'm not sure if I could imagine myself as a mother, but with the right tom a family would be great. I have been away from any sort of family for so long that I sometimes forget what it's like." As they padded through the park, their soft kitty paws touched the ground softly with every step. "As you can remember though, I found my brother after so long....but it's still a little nervewrecking. I havn't really gotten the chance to talk to him....but I plan on it, soon" She smiled and hopped in her step.
"You know I really enjoyed spending time with you. Not only have you taught me how to survive, but I found a really good friend. Thanks so much Magic." She dipped her head and looked up at the moon. It was a cresant moon and it was sort of slanted into a smile. It only made Fern feel even happier. She giggled "You know I'm quite the paranoid kit, but I have no worries when I talk to you, amazingly enough" The park was almost empty and small fireflies lifted off of the ground and ito the sky. She sighed and felt truly grateful for her new home in Nenwood.
Admin's Note on November 2nd: This thread is being archived due to inactivity and Magic's deletion. We shall say that: -They talked a bit and got to know each other a bit more
