Reserved for Lilly Brokenwinge
The scene seemed pictureque, as the water began to rapidly pour down from near the very summit of the towering mountain. Most humans, even would stare at it in awe as the maginificent waterfall carried the freezing water further and further down, down, down. The sound seemed deafening, impossible for an elephant to stand. Or, well, anything else which excelled at hearing. A large black shadow passed rapidly across the ground, as the feline followed his ears towards the roar of water. Osprey Coldenwing was accompanied by a smaller cat, a little orange she-cat who went by the name of Lilly Brokenwinge. He had recently met her on the old road, quite a distance from his current location. They had then payed a visit to Silvercrest woods, in order to get something to eat, seen as though they were both ravenous by that time. His mood was quite good at the moment, for Osprey at least. He didn't feel awful as he trekked speedily across the fields, heading towards the flowing waterfall he could see in the distance.
The black tom swivelled his head around completely, his amber eyes scanning the landscape for his smaller orange friend. He had known Lilly for quite a while now, almost all the time he had been in Nenbrook. His mind flicked back over to his past, all the countless days he had wandered alone, or with his siblings. Not that they were ever his friends. No. Osprey had a new life now, he couldn't let himself lurk on memories. The bad memories in his head were meant to be forgotton, not treasured. He put on a little boost of speed, and briskly progressed towards the massive waterfall. As he reached the base, he leant his head back to get the best view of it possible. His mouth opened slightly in awe, and in wonder his amber eyes flew across it again, and again, and again. He felt he could stare at it forever, desperately trying to uncover the limitless secrets that were held inside its waters.
What was he thinking? Inwardly going on about some stupid waterfall. Anyway, he was here to have a good time with one of his best friends. He padded forwards a few steps, and cautiously prodded the edge of the pool with a single paw. A sharp, freezing tingle bolted up his body and for a few milliseconds he felt like he was frozen before he seemingly returned to his normal body temperature. More confidently, he submerged his right paw altogether, and he shivered with the cold. Shaking that paw slightly, his opposite limb also entered the frosty depths. Carefully, he stepped forwards and felt some icy-cold pebbles fall slightly under the pressure of his pad. Progressing forwards, his amber gaze was unwaveringly fixed on the water below, but despite his carefullness, his expression no signs of fear. He felt brave and confident, he wasn't scared of the water. Osprey was just being careful as he entered. It would be stupid, not brave to enter more rapidly. The black tom wondered if Lilly was following, but he decided to get in fully before waiting for her.
The pebbles were unusually smooth, so his paws slipped on them as Osprey walked into the freezing pool, with the waves splashing against his side. His ebony pelt was clean now, well, at least the part that was submerged. Feeling content with this new feeling now, the charcoal feline continued to stride slowly forwards, until he was on his tip-toes and almost completely underwater. With one final push of effort, he shoved his paws against the pebbles, and began to move his legs in some sort of swimming technique. His forelimbs reached out first, and swept back the wintery water. Surprized, the tom realized he was actually doing it. He was swimming! Osprey even dared to duck his head under the surface, and splashed about playfully. He twisted his lithe black body around, until he was facing the bank he had used to enter the pool.
"Come on Lilly, it's not that bad, I promise!"
Admin's Note on October 9th: This thread is being archived. If Lily returns from hiatus and wishes to re-open, she can let me know. For now, I've spoke to Robin and we'll say that the following happened:
- Osprey and Lily swim around for a little bit
- Osprey agrees to be Lily's friend
