An other unsuccessful day in the forest had led the brilliant gold tabby to the vulture food of the humans. Staring at pile after pile of potential meals, the tom's mouth watered. Why did humans leave this stuff to scavengers? There was a lot of perfectly good food here... Oh well, He thought, with a dismissive flick of his tail, More for me! He rocked his striped haunches and launched himself onto another high pile. Scrabbling for balance, he managed to haul his scrawny hide up the pile and out of reach of any predators, such as dogs or even humans. He shivered at the thought of the hairless creatures and then banished the thought from his mind. Why pay any mind to fear when there was food right in front of your face! The top of this mound contained rotten tubers and fruits, not fit for a carnivore to eat. He burrowed like an enraged dog, desperate to find something to appease the beast that was his belly. Finally, his digging paid off. Wedged beep in the heap of vegetables was a leg of some cloven hoofed animal. Sniffing the delectable piece of meat, he examined the pink skin carefully. He had seen his previous humans put a substance that smelled like...Well, death into food to ward away rats in their old apartment. Cedar flinched in embarrassment at the memory. He had been a small kitten then, and he had been terrified of the rats which were bigger than him. It was the cat's duty after all, to hunt the rat and mouse for his humans, but he had failed at even the most basic duty of the feline...A loud yowl broke his thoughts and he shoved his legs into the crevice, hooking his claws into the skin and muscle and pulling. After a few minutes, the leg was dislodged and he dragged it a little ways away. The young tom collapsed, panting from the effort, not quite ready to flee.

Tangerine's ginger body gleamed as she made her way down to the Town Dump. Paws moved gracefully over the ground, hardly making a noise. Tail was held low between her back legs, swaying softly with the motion of her walk. Ears were pinned back as usual, amber/gold eyes locked a head of her. Blades and pelvis rolled easily with each step as she walked. Tangerine was still thinking of that Tom called Haven. He seemed genuine enough but for the life of her she couldn't seem to start to trust him. Trust him in the manner of letting him get close to her.
Above her , the sky was tinged with a bit of battleship grey, as well as the sunlight which peered out from behind a few fluffy white clouds on occasion. She didn't know why she was down here at the dump, but her paws brought her here for a reason. Probably because this is where I feel most comfortable at the dump...being that I'm trash anyway, she thought to herself dejectedly.
The dump smelled of garbage and reeked of urine and beer. Ugh this place is horrid, she thought wrinkling her pink nose in disgust. As she padded onward, her nose detected a different scent. A male cat nearby. Immediately, her body tense as she slowly walked toward him, as though she was walking on broken glass. She didn't want to draw attention to herself so she stopped a bit and pretended to be interested in a garbage can that was over flowing with food from the nearby restaurant. She kept one ear cocked back, listening in case the Tom decided to approach her.
She slipped her haunches into a sitting position letting her banded tail wrap around her back paws, twitching on occasion. Forelegs came around to the front of her chest, keeping her upper body erect. She turned her head and got preoccupied with the garbage can, giving her chest a few noncommittal licks as she sat there and waited to see what would happen next.

((ooc:Sorry about the delay! My internet has a mind of its own, I swear! ))
Focused as he was on the leg of meat, he didn't notice the other feline until he caught her movement in his peripheral vision. His reaction was immediate.Golden fur bristled as he swung around to face her, lips pulled back. Cedar was ready to defend(aka bluff and pray to the big yarn ball in the sky the cat was scared off) his meal. When he realized she was no threat, the tom relaxed his fur instantly and blinked in embarrassment. He had been acting defensively for no reason. The she-cat was busy looking for her own sustenance and had made no move toward his food. The young tom scolded himself for his brash action and took a step toward the queen. He dipped his head and meowed nervously, just now noticing how beautiful the orange tabby was. " Hello, my name is Cedar Silverweed...Umm, how is the prey running?" The tabby flinched at his thoughtlessness.Obviously if she was here, she hadn't found any prey or she didn't rely on live prey. God, I'm so stupid around females... His emerald eyes found his paws as he kneaded them, anxiously he awaited the female's reply.

Light foot steps padded against the dirt as Haven walked, his head held high. He had a smile on his face and was walking with a bounce in his step. I guess you could say he was a happy cat. His ruby-red eyes surrounded the rolling hills of garbage and he chuckled, furrowing his brow. "Well, well, well! Would you look at this place! Nice little buffet we got goin' here..." He pranced around keeping his mouth wide open to capture any luring scents. He had a small sparrow for breakfast, but was a little sick of eating things raw so he went out on a limb. Hoping to find a good cooked meal he bent his head to the ground like he saw dogs do, and started sniffing. "Hey, who knows? This might work...If it works for less superiors like dogs, then why wouldn't it work for a cat like me?" His conclusion was quite promising though after awhile of searching.
It was already mid-day and his stomach started to rumble a bit. He found a scent to follow so he walked patiently in the promising direction of his lunch. It was a nice day, for being in a dump anyway, and Haven couldn't help but let his mind ponder the last week he'd been in Nenwood. The first cat he met was an awesome she-cat named Tangerine. 'The barrier is still up around her mind but it'll break away piece by piece...' His muzzle crept into a wry smile, he had fallen for the she-cat and hoped she would feel the same, in time. He sighed and remembered the den they had shared when the rain poured down so hard. Haven remembered how cold she had been and couldn't help but feel a longing to see her again.
He shook his head to break out of his thoughts and was now getting a whole lot closer to his lunch. At the bottom of one of the hills had found a half eater cheeseburger. His mouth watered and he look a big bite and chewed slowly, savering every juicy taste. He was in the middle of enjoying his lunch when he perked up his ears to hear slight talking. "more cats!?!" He said, mouth half full. He picked up the remainder of his burger and headed off in that direction. He walked for a minute or two when the cats finally came into view. A familiar pelt made Haven's heart soar and he bounded toward the she-cat. "She has company?....A tom..." Haven thought warily and slowed his walk.
He had just recently met a tom and his first impression of him wasn't a good one, maybe this tom would be different. Haven came within a few tail-lengths and dropped his burger and held his tail high with excitement. Would she remember me? I-I mean sure we spoke and stuff, but she must've met a bunch of toms by now....Oh well! No pain in trying!" He inhaled a big puff of air and meowed his greeting really loud, "Hey Tange! How are you?" He padded closer his burger in his mouth and sat acroos from the tabby tom. He pushed the feeling of impending doom away and dipped his head politely "Hi! The names Haven Frozenpool, At your service" He trid to make his smile sincere enough.
Admin's Note on October 2nd: This thread is being locked and archived for inactivity since Cedar is now frozen and I haven't seen Tang in a while with Krabbie being busy and all. If at any point you guys want to get back to this, let me know. For now we'll have to say:
-They chatted with each other -The jealousies start to form with both toms developing feelings for Tangerine (not crazy in love or anything but the initial bits of atraction and all)
If anyone has a problem with that conclusion, PM me.
