I'm just a normal boy that sank when i fell overboard my ship would leave the country but I'd rather swim ashore Even before Onyx spoke her anger was dying. Her surprise at the emotion hadn't allowed it to last long. Then she felt sorry for scaring him but she didn't know what to say. Then he said he was just out for a stroll, but she knew he was lying. She could smell the mouse and the blood and see where the creature had been killed in the grass. She didn't care if he killed something to eat. He needed the energy. She just didn't like him straining his injury. She would have hunted for him. Without a life that's sadly stuck again wish I was much more masculine maybe then I could learn to swim like 'fourteen miles away' The anger had shaken Sparrow, but she kept it hidden. She looked at Onyx with fearful eyes. "Were you hunting?" She said softly. "Onyx, you could have hurt yourself more." She didn't want him hurt at all. She Had already thought he was dead. That had already hurt so much, she didn't need more, and neither did he. Then Twig came up next to her, growling. She'd never heard the sound before, and it scared her a little bit. "I-I'm sorry, Twig. it's my fault, I got mad for no reason." You're floating up and down I spin, colliding into sound like whales beneath me diving down I'm sinking to the bottom of my everything that freaks me out the lighthouse beam has just run out I'm cold as cold as cold can be be Everyone said it was always her fault when things went wrong. Her mother had said it too many times to count. her mother had said it was her fault nobody liked her. And those few times she had asked her mother about her father her mother had said that it was her fault he had left. That he was ashamed of her. That had made her cry. She had never even met her father before. And now it was her fault again. Her ears went slack as she looked down at her paws. I want to swim away but don't know how sometimes it feels just like I'm falling in the ocean let the waves up take me down let the hurricane set in motion let the rain of what i feel right now...come down let the rain come down ((Lyrics from "Into the Ocean" by Blue October))

"Uh... No- Yes, I was hungry..." Onyx murmured, not able to lie again. His orange gaze burned into his paws, wishing he hadn't hunted, or even left the nest. Twig gazed at the two with sympathetic eyes. "It's ok. Onyx shouldn't have been hunting, but it was ok for him to at least get a little bit of exercise; It wouldn't have helped him at all to have stiff joints ontop of being bruised up," the dog barked gently.
Onyx stood back up, feeling strength begin to once again surge through him. Slowly he walked up to his friends, aware of Twig's gentle gaze seering his fur. He didn't like this...

((Oh gosh, sorry for being so not on. With school coming and stuff I guess the stress has sort of been getting to me)) Beauty queen of only eighteen She had some trouble with herself He was always there to help her She always belonged to someone else Sparrow glanced up at Onyx when he spoke. At least he was truthful. She didn't really mind if he hunted. He needed the energy anyways. It's not like she could stop him or anything. She wouldn't even try to stop him physically. He might listen to her if she tried to tell him not to, but why should he? It's not like she had anything meaningful to say. Even twig had said that he could hunt to stretch. Why should anyone listen to her, and much less obey her and actually care what she has to say. I drove for miles and miles And wound up at your door I've had you so many times but somehow I want more She looked up when Onyx came closer. "I'm sorry, Onyx." She murmured quietly to him. She wouldn't mind if he didn't forgive her. She could understand why. She wished he would though, it might make her feel better. A little bit. Knowing that one cat liked her was enough. Did Twig like her? She had yelled at his friend so maybe he didn't. But she had also helped Onyx when he had fallen. Did Twig like her for that? I don't mind spending everyday Out on your corner in the pouring rain Look for the girl with the broken smile Ask her if she wants to stay awhile And she will be loved She will be loved ((Lyrics from "She Will Be Loved" by Maroon 5))

"It's okay, Sparrow," Onyx meowed quietly in response, the sunset depths of his orbs soft as he met her bright amber gaze. He understood why she had snapped at him, and he knew that he shouldn't have hunted; he might have stretched the limits by just walking around.
Twig watched the pair, happy to finally know Onyx's friend's name. Sparrow was a beutiful name, and he wished that he could change his. Maybe he would do that someday, but not now. He could do that later, even if he didn't have anything that couldn't wait untill farther into the somewhat near future.

((AH! The world has eaten me alive it seems. With school and homework and swim practice I don't have any time. And my muse takes a pretty hard beating everyday from sitting in a class writing or listening to someone talk about something boring)) So long ago, I don't remember when That's when they say I lost my only friend Well they said she died easy of a broken heart disease As I listened through the cemetery trees Sparrow smiled at him. Hopefully he meant what he said, but so far he's been pretty truthful. Why shouldn't she trust him? She should, but there was always another possibility. Always, no matter how much she wanted there not to be. He could just be saying that to make her feel better and would never forgive her for snapping at him. That annoying little voice in the back of her mind warned her, always warned her. Made her cautious and paranoid. I seen the sun comin' up at the funeral at dawn The long broken arm of human law Now it always seemed such a waste She always had a pretty face So I wondered how she hung around this place She crawled back through the foliage to the clearing and sat down in her spot. She looked up through the trees, trying to see parts of the sky, and smiled to herself. She hadn't been this happy in...ever. Maybe when she was a tiny kitten and still believed her mother loved her. Maybe then. But now she had friends, real friends. The only thing that seemed to be missing was a meal. She felt hunger again, a hollow emptiness in the middle of her abdomen. She could go a for a little while without food. It wasn't a necessity just yet. Hey, come on try a little Nothing is forever There's got to be something better than In the middle But me & Cinderella We put it all together We can drive it home With one headlight ((Lyrics from "One Headlight" by Wallflowers))

((No worries. Same here. xP)) Twig nodded and padded away, his steady trot leading him away from the clearing and deaper into the forest. He was going hunting, and was afraid that just the growl of his stomach would scare off all of the prey in Nenbrooke. Swiftly, he jerked into a different direction, his large paws pounding the floor as he charge full speed at a small creature.
Twig's floppy ears slapped him lightly as he charged, and he couldn't stop himself from over-salivating as his curved, black claws sunk into warm flesh; the rabbit hadn't been fast enough for the dog's skilled paws. Looking both ways, he picked up his catch, and followed his scent trail to the trees near the clearing. Dropping it, he clawed off some fur and dug in hungrily.
Onyx was just happy that the incident was over, but he didn't feel ready to rest yet. His belly was comfortably full, and he knew of nothing better to do but wander around in circles, before finally returning to his nest as Twig ate his rabbit. He rolled over onto his back, the small trickle of sunlight warming the creamy grey fur.
