It wasnt like Midnight could say he didnt like the woods. The smell of pine trees, the sound of pine needles and twigs under his paws. The fresh air blowing against his calico fur, fingering it's way down his pelt. No, it was like heaven to him, a cat paradise. But the thought of slicing his claws into a small helpless body was far too much for him. He could never live here, killing prey was like fingernails on a chalkboard. Too unbearable.
Yet hunting through the stinky dumpsters was just fine to him. Even though the stench of humans sent shivers down his spine. So maybe he was stuck between his hate for hunting prey and his hate of humans. His rumbling belly told him that he would have no choice. He had to hunt in the woods.
Midnight thought that Pistachio was behind him. He was the one that convinced Midnight to go hunting in the first place. But one glance over his shoulder told a different story. 'where is he?' Midnight forgot this, and considered the fact that Pistachio probably decided to hunt on his own.
The light of the setting sun lit his path, struggling to get through the canvas of tree tops. The cat's hazel eyes traced along the path. There right in front of him was the mouse. Shuddering, Midnight crouched down, unseathing his claws. 'Okay little guy, looks like your going to be my dinner tonight' Just as Mindight was about to lift himself off the forest floor into a leap, another cat's paws landed on the mouse, forcing a squeek out of it's throat. Mindight growled, "What do you think you're doing!?"

Moon wasn't blind. She'd seen that black kitten slowly creeping towards the mouse, with intentions of killing it. It wasn't that she was just being mean- like she said, she wasn't blind. The violet eyes had easily spotted hesitance in the new cats own green depths. He didn't look like he wanted to kill the animal at all. In fact, he was sporting an expression that clearly explained he'd rather be doing anything else than doing that.
She wasn't going to take the prey right out of his paws though- although Moon wasn't so unselfish as to give him the whole thing; she had caught it after all, even if he'd laid claim to it first.
"What do you think you're doing!?"
Sharp white incisors were revealed as the she-cat grinned lazily, slipping out of any line of fire and picking the mouse up in her firm jaws. Circling the kitten, she answered through the side of her mouth,
"Survival of the fittest, kid. Sorry."
It wasn't a fun thing to come in contact with a bored Moon Coldbite- and even worse to come in contact with a hungry bored one. She'd share the mouse, naturally- if the black kitten could catch her.
Without another look at the outraged green eyes she leaped up into a low-hanging branch on an oak, repeating the action and slowly getting higher. From there she jumped gracefully onto the branch of a neighboring tree, laughing.
"You want the mouse? Come and get it!"

Midnight couldnt beleive what he had seen. A beautiful white cat with stunning violet eyes. he hardly had enough room to feel angry. But her attitude wasn't going to suite him well. "Survival of the fittest, kid. Sorry." 'Did she just call me kid?' His eyes glimmered with fear and determination. 'no way am i going on an empty stomach becuase of this..' She leapt up onto a tree branch. He growled, almost letting the words out, 'Where do you think your going!?' He bared his teeth. His leg muscles bunched up, and he landed on the branch, right after she had leapt up to the next one.
Fear ran it's way down his spine. He wouldnt look down, as he climbed his way up the tree. The new cat was laughing at him. He couldnt help but miss Pistachio. That cat wouldnt tease him like this. But the way that this cat was teasing him-- It disturbed him. It felt more like a test rather than a game. Midnight took a deep breathe and closed his eyes. 'I wont let you win that easy!' He opened his eyes, now glimmering with determination.
"You want the mouse? Come and get it!"
Narrowing his eyes, Midnight leapt up the branch. It wobbled unsteardily under his weight, and he had to swollow his fear. "you think you can win that easily!" His shakey voice was hinted with fake confidence and a whithered away hope. His belly grumbled, and he shuddered. The fact tha the hadn't eaten in a few days left his ribs showing, and his spirit pulling him upward toward the cat.

Moon had to admit; she was impressed by the kittens stamina. A small part of her protested at teasing such a cute young cat, but she ignored it, turned around to fix the fastly approaching black kit with a foxy grin, sticking her tongue out beside the mouse before jumping up even higher, laughing again even louder this time.
He was keeping up with her pace really well- if he had been her size he probably would've caught up with her a while ago. She glanced back at the target of her games just in time to see him pause and give her a stubborn look.
"You think you c an win that easily?"
Her purple eyes danced with mischief.
"You tell me."
And then she took a step off the branch, plunging down through the overgrowth in a straight free-fall for a few seconds until threw out her paws, digging sharp, black claws into the malleable bark of a tall maple and finishing the by letting herself swing over the top and touch the bottom of the ground, front paws hitting first, and then back following quickly.
Placing the mouse on the ground beside her, the white she-cat proceeded to close her eyes and lift a paw, giving it a swift lick before promptly cleaning her face. No doubt the soft ivory mane with now windblown and filled with small bugs.
There is no way he managed to keep up after that one, she thought with no small amount of egoism. Nobody could deny that although quick and fairly pretty, the two-year old she-cat was full of herself.

He could see it in her eyes. This wasnt serious at all. All just a game. A childish and stupid game. But to this cat, it was a joyous experience, picking on Midnight. midnight almost spat at the cat a couple of insults, but he was soon taken aback by her sudden actions.
"You tell me"
Her paws left the brach, and her body was swopped down. Midnight just watched, wide-eyes gleaming with fear, as the she cat plummeted downwards towards the ground. She quickly dissapeared under the branches. Soon, almost too soon, he saw the she-cat once more. Grooming herself as if nothing had happened.
"ARE YOU CRAZY!?"
His yowl eachoed through the trees as his hazel eyes stared at her violet orbs, exasperation glazing his eyes. His mouth hung open. He wondered if he could pull it off too... Chasing her would be no problem. his talent was climbing trees and running. But the fact that he seemed to be hundreds of foxlengths up in the tree was not helpful. She would get away if he slowly climbed down.
Midnight took a deep breathe, closed his eyes. And before he knew it, he was flying. Wind rushed past him, and he felt free. 'So this is why birds love to fly..'
Black. Dark and painful. His eyes blinked open, and pain surged through his legs. 'Damnet! Why the hell did i not grabb on to a tree and brake my fall' Midnight got up, wobbly and painful movements got him on his paws again. He glared at the white she-cat and repeated his words from earlier. "Are you crazy?"
OOC: Sorry about typos xD

Upon hearing the younger cat's yowl, Moon burst out laughing, falling on the ground. This was fun- he was really angry!
Through all the things she went through after a year of life in Nenbrook, Moon was quite sure she wasn't entirely sane- at least not anyone else's standards. With a last giggle she gained control of herself once more, pushing herself up into a sitting position and looking up at the kitten in a tree a little ways away from her.
He looked furious.
"Come and get your meal!"
She called up to him, and then a devious look gleamed in the violet depths. Her eyes narrowed, and she added tauntingly,
"Unless you're scared."
He leaped off the branch.
She froze.
Whoa, whoa, I was just playing! Did he actually just kill himself? Her panicky thoughts began to center around the kittens own sanity. Jesus Christ! You don't just go jumping off branches without knowing what you're doing!
She prepared herself to shoot off in the direction of where he'd made contact with the ground until her eyes fell upon his stumbling form a few feet away. Another question of her sanity ensued, and the anxiety slowly drained from her system as she allowed herself to relax, lips curling into a smirk.
"Dumb kid," She breathed, still ruffled about his almost-suicide attempt. Padding over to where he was standing, still angry at her earlier actions of clear thievery, so she lifted a white paw and ruffled the fluff on his head before looking down at him, being a few inches taller.
"No clue." She told him affectionately, her face lapsing into a happy smile. Fun as the chase had been, she now had a raging kitten to deal with.

Midnight lifted his head, and stared into the worried eyes of the stranger. Her paw ruffled his fur. He almost let a growl slip. 'You cant win this survival game if you are making enemies with everyone, dumbass!' Instead he grunted in dissaproval and began to groom his ruffled fur.
"Dumb kid,"
Midnight shuddered. "Instead of calling me a kid, maybe you should use my name. It is quite annoying when you have complete strangers calling you kid," he glared at her, "since i hate that nickname, i will tell you. Name is Midnight Sunchase." His eyes glimmered in satisfaction. He grinned and meowed, "and you would be?"
"No clue."
"HA!" He let his eyes scan the she-cat. She didnt look crazy, but the stunt she just pulled told otherwise. 'whats worse is that i did it too.' His stomach rumbled. "If i were to make those types of decisions for everyone, life itself would be the definition of insanity" But wasnt it true? What type of person would create a world where humans were in charge? The fact that dogs are "man's best friend" proves their stupidity. Why be friends with an idiotic slobbering mutt?

Moon's eyes glimmered when he gave her his snappy response, somehow managing to fit an introduction in his speech. Upon hearing the name, she perked up and sang in a high voice,
"Mid~night! Sun~chase!"
Laughing, she drew her soft white tail around herself, gracing him with a wide smile before telling him,
"Well, you must have heard of me somewhere, but introductions are necessary, I suppose. I'm Moon Coldbite, international woman of mystery and queen of feng-shui. I am, naturally, the world's best gambler."
She laughed loudly at the inside joke. The white she-cat had never gambled- she had subtly referred to her uncanny ability to cheat death.
"If I were to make those types of decisions for everyone, life itself would be the definition of insanity."
Moon waved a paw, intercepting him by saying,
"Yeah, yeah," She stood up and snaked over to him, curling around him and laying down. Yawning, she set her head down and closed her eyes, ignoring the rumbling coming from the kitten's stomach with zero regards to his comfort. She was just one of those people that had no consciousness towards other people's personal space.
"You can go eat that mouse if you want, you've shown yourself to be worthy," she drawled lazily, relaxing her muscles, "I'm gonna go t'sleep now though."
And then, true to her word, Moon was asleep within seconds.

ooc: I'm gonna end the thread here, kay? Midnight listened to Moon, slightly annoyed. The way she said his name, and how she introduced herself. 'Not exactly the most humble cat in the world.' he sniffed. when moon curled up right next to him, Midnight jumped in the air, and scrambled a bit farther away. Midnight groaned, 'She has no care in the world about anyone else.'
"You can go eat that mouse if you want, you've shown yourself to be worthy,"
Midnight rolled his eyes. 'Worthy, yeah right'. His hazel eyes looked down at the mouse. His stomach gave a final growl, before Midnight snatched it up. Even though he could tell the cat was probably already asleep, he muttered, "Thanks"
He turned, ready to leave and find new places to explore. He padded through the trees. He looked back one more time at the white she-cat. 'I wonder if i will ever see you again, moon Coldbit' Midnight chuckled at how ironic her name was. 'Ha! Coldbite...'
