Sorry, but even though I looked there weren't very many pictures of mountains with zero foliage. If I accidently chose any pictures that other people have already chosen, sorry about that, you can give the points t them if they found it before me.

I tried to find some pictures that i could, if I squinted, find a piece of the image that could be made into a thin little bar. Sadly, I didn't find that many so I submitted two for each new board. Hope i helped!

Wow lots of entries xDD Awesome guys. Unfortunately, Apo and Neko, most of your entries were a bit small which is a big shame cause they are all great pics that I would have liked to use lol I just think that the banners will stretch across the same width as the thread part and all so they will have to be 700 pixels in width. Sorry for making things all confusing now, I was not thinking straight at first lol. Sorry guys! But yeah, they should be 700 pixels in width from now on I guess Sorry and thanks!

Can't you widen the length of the images? If not I can. xDD

and actually the thread width isn't that wide it's probably about 450 to 500 px. :] I can get an actual size measurement for you if you'd like.

I'm actually not to keen on the idea of board images but I do have a code in mind that I can give you for a role over cell highlight images! :]

EDIT:

So I went ahead and did this coz I was totally bored and it was bothering me. xDD

But there as you can see the red outlines the catagory image which is 703 (plus boarders) so 700 alone. :] While in blue is the thread which is 723 (plus boarders) so 420 alone so Images given should be at LEST 420 width. (purple on image marks overlap of boarders).

So I hope that helps and makes things easier a bit on you and us. xDD;

I can widen them a bit but if they're too small then it will just looked blurred But if you wanna give it a try, that would be awesome <3

And the images are meant to go in the header of each board so they'll be above threads and lists of threads and stuff. I have to go now but I'll take a screenshot example and post it up tomorrow xDD

Kay I made a demo image with one of Robin's pics - it's a bit taller than they would be probably and not as nicely done lol but the end result would be something along the lines of this. You can view on the Gentle Slopes board or here are previews:

Any other ideas for how to do it? Personally I don't really want to put them in the board descriptions just cause images there annoy me for some reason lol.

Oh~ I see this is the way old Arvie had it set up before she got that code to replace the head-image with those images. :]

Mhmm yeah but I've seen it done on many other sites too otherwise I wouldn't have decided to use it. In the Shadows had it before they died and another site I'm on, ISS, has it for one of their boards Personally I like the replacing head-image better but I don't want to copy Arv lol. I can't really think of another way to do this though :/
