ooc: I'm not sure if you mind, being as those are technically your characters, but could I powerplay just a little bit? It doesn't matter too much if the dogs suffer minor injuries, right?
The howl broke him out of his concentration, and Coon stopped short. And the dog was close, too. He could feel it.
But you didn't before.
He ground his teeth before spinning around, a sudden adrenaline rush peeking his senses. Just as the dog burst out of then trees, the gray tom rushed over to Gingko's side, reading in what could be identified as a hunter's crouch. The dog was taunting them now, taunting Gingko. That just made him angrier.
'Go! Now! You can't get hurt!'
His white tail flashed in front of him as he spun around to face her.
'As if I'd leave you behind!'
Leaping at Shiba, claw met fur and he licked his lips in satisfaction as he saw the injury quickly begin to run red. His glee was short lived though, because in another second the dog was on him, leaving a large gash on his flank that had began to bleed effortlessly. It didn't show signs of stopping, so he bit his tongue before looking around for the black she-cat, making sure she was unhurt before turning around and continuing his battle.
The two dogs were targeting Gingko. And even though he was confident that he could put up a fight against one dog, there was a large chance he would lose to two of them. And there was no way in hell he was going to take chances with her life on the line. Both our lives, he corrected himself curiously.
'Gingko! Follow me, we're going to run for it!'
Whipping around, he began to race for the trees, constantly looking back to make sure Gingko was alright. He was feeling almost as protective of her as she was him, and he could only guess why.
Dodging branches, logs, tree and ferns, the gray tom swiftly made his way through the forest. Although he was in bad shape and they were both in extreme danger, his pawsteps were silent and left no traces. Even under his panic he had begun to feel the same cold calm he had felt back in the fire. That's right, the fire. He had been in worse positions than this. Hell, a dog was nothing compared to the bear that had attacked him and Azalea!
His pace had still not budged as he once again turned around and scanned the trail for the violet-eyed she-cat. He ran straight unto a tree, and he winced before continuing his escape. Then his pace began to slip. He didn't know how long he could keep this up for. Although it didn't really matter if his own pace slipped.
As long as she was safe.

Rune howled with laughter and stopped her leap short, landing on the ground in front of the two cats and paced back and forth tauntingly, as if deciding which one to go after first, which is actually what she was doing. Her stomach growled in anticipation of a meal. Her instincts told her to kill them now, kill them now and eat them. To stop taunting them and kill them now. But she wanted to have some fun. Just to get a taste of what driving the rest of the other cats out would be like. ”Don’t be a hero. You’ll both die anyway. So you can drop the act of bravery now, because I don’t buy it,” She said, her tail wagging slowly back and forth.
She wondered how she would make this more enjoyable for her. Maybe eat one of the cats in front of the other one, because they were obviously friends. She had a grudge against cats, she wanted to kill them all, after a pack of five of them killed one of her friends. She didn’t care that she was about to do the exact same thing to someone else, because she would spare the other one the heartbreak and kill ‘im too. So really, she was being nice and getting a meal.
Her eyes widened as Shiba was attacked. Oh well, she can bloody take care of herself. Get focused! Eat the other one!’ She told herself and licked her lips as she locked onto Ginkgo with her amber eyes. ”You’re mine,” She barked at her, and smiled. She chuckled before leaping at her, her eyes crazed as the thrill of the hunt blocked out everything else she was feeling.

Down! Here comes the sound! Everyone pound your feet to this phenomenon
OOC: Just clearing this up now, this post is out of place and I'm powerplaying a little, but I talked it out with Lu and so we're finally going to get the plot on it's feet. It was too tough with vital characters away, so we're going to be doing a bit of skipping, 'kay? These two get split up by the time we make it to the dump... and then... uh... I'll PM Lu and we'll figure out whatever big thread is taking care of that, she'll announce it or something, I dunno. And this is gonna be pretty long... I don't really know if I did it right... Oh well.
"Don't be a hero. You’ll both die anyway. So you can drop the act of bravery now, because I don’t buy it,”
Anger boiled inside Coon as he listened to the dogs arrogantly spur out threats and insults.
'Shut UP! And get OUT of my FOREST!'
He screeched, running forward and leaping right over Rune only to land on his head, sinking his claws in as deep as they would go. He leapt off just in time to avoid a counter-attack and dashed towards Gingko, grabbing her by the the back of her neck and flying up into the branches of a tree.
Jumping from branch the branch was difficult, and he was so sure he was going to fall, especially with the added weight of the black cat beneath him. I didn't matter; he would protect her at all costs. Skrew his superiority complex, he was going to save her now.
He closed another gap between him and another tree as leaves dropped lifelessly to the ground. The smallest of raindrops began to drop as he scrambled on the branches.
No good, he thought panting. If the rain keeps up, I won't be able to use the trees to escape.
A branch creaked from under his foot, and he arrogantly paused automatically before his eyes widened at his mistake. The branch snapped like a twig and both went falling onto the forest floor. He could here the dogs on their tails, and even if they didn't know exactly where they went, they could track their scent.
So I guess this rain is giving us both an advantage and a disadvantage. I can't use the trees to hide my path, but my scent'll be well masked by the rain and the changing scents of the forest.
Pounding down the game trail, his paws slipped and he crashed down into the mud, gasping as the cold hit him. It was harder to run with his long pelt adding weight as it collected water, and he trudged through, veering off to the side and collapsing behind a fern.
Looking up at Gingko, panting, he couldn't help beginning to stare at her purple eyes. What about them made him feel so excited? Whatever the hell was happening, he wasn't going to be able to rest for long. Maybe he should distract the dogs while she escaped?
No, she didn't know the area well enough to be able to make a good escape. She was a anew stray, it'd be too dangerous to leave her alone. There's no way he could take on both the dogs by himself, they'd tear through him and then grab Gingko. And he wouldn't be able to handle that.
'We've got to make it to the dump, our scent will disappear and there's a bunch of places to hide. Plus... I'm kinda hungry.'
He cracked a grin at his attempt at humor in the grim situation before leaning far in and looking at her for a second, expression unreadable before sighing.
'Well, if it can't be helped...'
He said, head tilted.
'We'll have to split up.'
Truth was, the last thing he wanted to do was split up. But he absolutely knew that they couldn't handle this on their own. When they got to the dump, she would have to find somewhere to hide while he tracked some more people down to take down these dogs for good. He glanced at her again, biting his lip before taking a deep breath.
'Ready? Let's go.'
And then they ran so fast that their blurry forms blended it with the shadows, gray and black becoming just another part of the forest.
His whole body was soaked, and he was shaking. Coon was sure that Gingko was probably in similar shape, and he cursed when he heard a sharp bark from not far behind them. So the dogs were still tailing them?
Skidding to a halt when he spotted the familiar barb wire fence that surrounded the dump before squeezing under it, closely followed by the black form of Gingko. He scrambled up the side of the dump before he spotted a broken fence, and quickly showed it to Gingko before spinning around, spotting the dogs not too far away.
Speeding down the hill, he looked for where the dogs had gone, but he didn't spot any. A sigh escaped him and he dragged his paws along, the exhaustion setting in after the rush of adrenaline began wearing off. He was tempted to just collapse and sleep for a few days, but he kept walking, hoping to spot the face of another cat.
Oh well. He'd find some kind of way. He always did, somehow.
END
So I'll continue this in the dump, 'kay? No idea why there would be a random fridge at the top surface of the dump, but whatever. Guess Coon'll start a thread there, and some people can show up? I don't even know xD But think anyone can reply, and then you can pretend they ran off to find a friend or something? Then they all gather in the Secret Hiding Place, the one from Moon and Juni's adventure there? Wait, 'ready to rumble' I think, or something -_- lol. Good enough. Lets get this partay starteed!!
Now! Let's make it loud, let's show 'em all how you move to this phenomenon
