Careful, careful...AHH! Woo that was close.. Light blue eyes glued to the ground, careful of where he set each paw on the old, cracked road. He could not step on a crack. The consequences would just be too great. Luckily it wasn't fall, so there would be no leaves to worry about dodging, but that didn't mean the dangers were gone.
Sometimes it felt as if this whole world were out to get him, with every crack, rustle, and angry human around every corner. It was scary. I bet you I'm cursed..He thought sadly. It just wasn't fair. But you know what bothered him the most? How other cats could be so careless! Stepping on cracks, walking right through towns full of humans, they could get killed! But whenever he tried to warn them, they would laugh in his face, call him a psycho and walk away, leaving him there to call after them to beware. Sometimes life just didn't make any sense.
Unfortunately, he didn't even realize that he was walking right in the middle of a busy road until he heard a roaring behind him, growing louder and louder. He spun around just in time to leap for the side of the road, tumbling head over heels into the long grass on the sides of the road. He coughed as exhaust from the car found its way down his throat and into his lungs.
Crystal panted, eyes wide and wild as he tried to catch his breath. He had almost died! He must have stepped on a crack somewhere...Wait he did! When a rustle had scared him he had jumped, landing on an un forgiving crack which had led him to this fate, laying on the side of road, nearly hit by a car. He shook his head slowly in amazement.
"Why me? What did I ever do to you?"He meowed to himself, then instantly regretted it. Why was he talking to himself?! Someone could hear him! Looking around wildly, he crouched down low, hoping to hide himself. Though, being a grey tabby in green grass he sort of stood out. He held his breath, listening for any dangers.

Nice days almost always brought certain disaster.
It was a proven fact.
Soul was, on this nice sunny day, in quite a nice mood. He usually was- if he wasn't, he usually didn't let it show anyway- but today it was warm with a nice breeze carrying the scents and sounds of the sea- he was drinking it in with an eager nose.
But his relaxation didn't last long, as it always happened, as the wonderful sea-salt taste on his tongue was suddenly replaced by a hard stinging one.
Car!
He dodged, feeling his fur's assault and closing his eyes against the strong buffet of wind hit him. Opening his eyes when it had passed, he scowled. Soul hated cars.
His eyes squinted when he noticed something- a cat?
Right in the car's path.
It struck before he had time to even think about yelling out a warning- Soul felt panic rise in his stomach. Oh God, that hit- it definitely hit- I should've said something- this is my fault, damn it...
The accusing thoughts continued to run through his head and he was running towards the spot of contact without even giving it any forewarning.
Seeing nothing, a spark of hope entered his mind. Maybe the cat dodged...? Please tell me that's what happened.
"Why me? What did I ever do to you?"
Alive.
Soul felt his shoulders sag with relief, letting out a shaky breath. Whoever it was, they were alive- and then he caught sight of a small sliver tabby, probably not older than a year. Soon after, his head finally had time to digest what the younger cat had said, and he grinned with every intention of sneaking up on him.
Getting a little closer, he silently thanked the sky that he was downwind from the kitten so that he wasn't able to catch a scent before calling out casually,
"Nothing that I can remember- thought I'm not sure how I feel about your attitude, kid."
ooc: x3 Oh yes, this will be very interesting!

Heart beat racing, Crystal's gaze darted around, panicking. Closing his light blue eyes slowly, he took in a deep breath, nearly hyper-ventilating. His legs were shaking with adrenaline and fear. A bad combination for a little cat like himself. These were the times he regretted running away from home the most. But it was too late to go back now. Calm down, your alive and theres not a cat in sight. He attempted to calm his nerves, and for a moment relaxed.
Then his brain started working again.
Wait, how could he be alive? Couldn't he just die already and turn into a squirrel or something? Squirrels had it easy, they could run like crazy and climb stuff. He would be able to run faster from his fears, and not trip over his stupid cat paws all the time.
"Nothing that I can remember- thought I'm not sure how I feel about your attitude, kid."
He didn't even take the time to process what the other cat had said.
Head spinning around so fast it nearly gave him whiplash, Crystal knocked heads with the orange tabby tom. He shook his head, closing his eyes. He tried to get up and run away but he just fell back over, feeling dizzy. Once he realized what was going on, he slunk down, staring up at the tom with big scared eyes. "Please don't eat me.." Like that was really going to help. Pleading to not be eaten. Just made him look even more stupid.
Judging that he was older and not as clumsy, there would be no use in running. It would be no problem for this cat to take him down. Even though every part of his mind and body yelled to run, he rooted himself to the spot, praying to whatever god might be up in the sky that this cat didn't find joy in using kittens as punching bags.
So that left him to do what he hated most. Wait. It was always flee or fight (in his case flee) but wait was not an option. Well it was now. He began to shake uncontrollably, his gaze not moving off the cat. He hated this situation.
Thats when he started to daydream (at a time like this?) Was it possible this cat was just here to help him? Lend him a hand and help him get a better grip on life? Maybe he could show him how to take care of himself, hunt and fight. Actually live life to the fullest. Could it happen? Na.
As he snapped himself out of his little fantasy, he braced himself for impact.
ooc: Agreed =D

SMASH!
Soul fell backwards from the impact, predicting the cat before him to have a surprised response, but not to this extent. A groan escaped his mouth, and he heard a small voice behind him squeak out,
"Please don't eat me!"
His eyes snapped open. Cat? He'd never even tried chicken. Frowning, he sat up and closed his eyes again, bring a paw up to rub the bruise on his forehead, complaining in a moan,
"Oi. Don't call me a cannibal. I don't eat cats- too fluffy."
The amber eyes half-opened once again, and it was only then they finally got a good look at the kitten before him.
He looked terrified.
His first instinct was to rush forward and comfort the kitten- had he actually been serious about that don't eat me thing a few seconds earlier?- but then he realized that he'd probably only end up scaring the kitten further.
"Hey," he called out in a softer, more fraternal voice this time, "Hey. Calm down. You're okay. I was kidding."
The huge, adorable blue eyes were staring up at him pleadingly, and he found them completely irresistible. Reaching out, he murmured,
"Come on, I'm not gonna hurt ya or anything. It was just a car, nobody was hurt, uh..."
He wasn't sure what exactly he should say to the shaking form in front of him, so he took a step back and smiled sheepishly, speaking out once again,
"Uh, I'm Soul, Soul Dreamcatcher. Sorry if I freaked you out- you new to Nenbook or something?"

"Oi. Don't call me a cannibal. I don't eat cats- too fluffy."
Crystal sunk down lower to the ground so his belly was tickled by the grass. Was he kidding, or did he really mean it? This could be his last chance to run, so should he take it? He could at least try.
As he started to back up, he heard the tom talk again, this time in a lighter tone. The last time he had heard someone talk to him like that was his mom. It memorized him for a moment, flooding back memories of his mother. Oh how he missed her. He couldn't really remember her, but he always day dreamed about what she must have been like.
Beautiful of course, with stunning midnight blue eyes and long black fur. Her voice was as sweet as honey, and flowed like a stream. It gave Crystal that fuzzy little feeling inside, and he would want to curl up in her wonderful fur and drift off to sleep. Then he realized he was standing off the side of the road talking to some cat he didn't know that could be plotting to kill him.
"Hey. Calm down. You're okay. I was kidding."
Crystal stayed where he was, but stopped backing up. This was weird, a cat not trying to harm him. Legs still shaking, he sat up, never taking his eyes off of the other cat. Wait wait he had to respond! What was he supposed to say? He struggled to find the right words that would make sense to him. "Oh." He replied in a small voice.
"Come on, I'm not gonna hurt ya or anything. It was just a car, nobody was hurt, uh..."
Instinctively, Crystal stumbled a step back wards as he reached out. He had to remember that this could all just be some mind game he was playing with him. Though every part of him wanted to believe that he was just nice. Was that even possible, to just be nice? No evil, taking over the world, killing small kittens stuff? Before he would have thought that that was absolutely impossible, but now...well it seemed more likely.
"Uh, I'm Soul, Soul Dreamcatcher. Sorry if I freaked you out- you new to Nenbook or something?"
Soul Dreamcatcher. That was the name of this wonderful cat. Well if he said his name, does that mean he was supposed to say his name too? "I-I'm uh....Crystal Frozensea." He stammered out, looking at his paws with a shamed expression. He had never liked his name, and other cats got a good laugh out of it.
Nenbrook? What was that? He looked back up, a more curious look to his face now and he tilted his head to the side in question.
