When she saw the dark cage in the humans hands, she quickly slipped under the bed. She shivered. She was always afraid of the day when they would take her to the cutter. She didn't want to die an old lazy fat cat. She just wanted to an inside cat with the know-how of the wild. Her claws seethed and unsheathed as she stressfully hid from him. She was under the bed of the little girl's room. She didn't sleep here anymore. Infact, she never saw her owner's kit anymore. Ever since they had let that girl go away in her friends car... Tempest recalled the tears streaming from the Humans eyes. Their black clothes, as they left Tempest for the day. The humans were unusually grim all the time..
Of course, the human found her. His cold hands grasped her scruff, and pulled from her hiding spot. He persuaded her to enter the cage. she slowly did. Maybe they moved? Maybe that's what happened to their kit!?
They placed Tempest in the car. Their heads were bowed, other than the driver whom kept his eyes fixed on the road ahead. Tempest looked out the small holes of her cage. She saw an old road, with many trees. She began to wail for attention. She recognized the place. She heard about this place sometimes. Some cats would gossip about another cat being dropped off at the old road. Realization shocked Tempest.
Her wails of distress became louder. Would they really abandon her!? She saw their compassionate faces as they pulled her form the cage. "It's as if she knows what's about to happen.." The female human said in a sickening voice. Her heart shattered. They drove away quickly. Leaving her a bowl of food, water, and the cage. Ignorant humans! She threw the bowls on the street, leaving their fate up to the human's cars. She took a grasp of the cage, and dragged it out of site. The sun began to set behind the mountains. She sighed, and curled up in the cage. She had been abandoned. She had no where to go. She would never see the human's kit again...
Expecting to be eaten by a fox, she willingly fell asleep. She would never come close to a rotten Human again!

Crouched behind a tall bush, Willow peered around its thick trunk to watch the commotion unfolding on the old road. Huh -- it seemed like a cat was being abandoned. Willow shrugged, the sleek fur on her shoulders rippling. She had never really understood why someone would want to stay in a house all day long. Always with nothing to do, always with no companions... Willow had gradually slid away from her parents when she was only eleven months old. She had ran away -- well, more like just left; her parents had given her permission -- and went to Nenbrook, where she was now. She had never had human owners and even had barely any contact with them. Good! The she-cat was scared of the towering people. Of course, she was scared of anything bigger than her, which was a lot, seeing as she was rather small.
But what was she doing just sitting here, thinking about herself? I should be out there, helping that cat! Willow told herself angrily. Glancing back towards the new stray, she saw that the bowls had been tossed into the street and the cage was now off to the side. Trotting out to the road, Willow pricked her ears, carefully listening for any cars. Hearing none, she gripped a bowl in her mouth and carefully dragged it back to the side of the road. That cat will want her food. I suppose it'll be a while before she learns to hunt... After repeating the process with the other bowl (this one was filled with water), she set off to find the other cat. Padding towards the cage where she assumed the cat was, Willow considered what she would say. Well, I suppose I should introduce myself, of course... and maybe I could give her a tour of Nenbrook! Oh, that would be so fun! Even though she had only arrived in this small town a month ago, she had spent a lot of time exploring, and by now knew her way around quite well. Reaching the cage, Willow gripped the door in her teeth and, neck muscles straining, pulled it open. "Hi!" she sang out, ignoring the fact that the other cat was clearly sleeping. "I'm Willow, Willow Cloudrunner. Who are you? Oh, I'm so sorry you've been abandoned, but here-- look--" pointing with her nose to the bowls, Willow smiled. "I got your bowls back for you. Luckily they hadn't been run over! Thank goodness! See, now you won't have to hunt for a while. I don't like hunting; I actually think it's pretty mean..." Then, realizing she had been rambling without giving the newcomer a chance to speak, Willow came to a quick stop. Flicking her ears in embarrassment, she glanced at her tan paws. "Sorry," she mumbled. [/blockquote]

Tempest pondered. Half asleep, listenening to the forest noises. This is where she couldve been. Anger flared through her as she remembered the stinky humane sociaety. If those men hadnt come and taken her mother and unborn kits...
Tempest had bigger things to worry about. How was she going ot eat? Where would she sleep? She wouldnt be able to stay at this same spot forever. When she thought about, she really didnt want to die. Maybe if she followed the road, she'd come upon the forest, or maybe more cats she could become friends with? She raked her claws against the plastic flooring of the makeshift den. What if she ends up dead?
That's when her voice periced her thoughts.
"Hi!" I'm Willow, Willow Cloudrunner. Who are you? Oh, I'm so sorry you've been abandoned, but here-- look--" "I got your bowls back for you. Luckily they hadn't been run over! Thank goodness! See, now you won't have to hunt for a while. I don't like hunting; I actually think it's pretty mean..." Tempest looked up at the friendly voice. A tan siamese cat. She glanced at the bowls. How ignorant of Temepst to get rid of the food. Willow was right, she would need this food until she could finnally catch something! "I am Tempest. Tempest Moonshimmer. I suppose i am not alone here. Yes, i was abandoned. I hate those stinking humans, my only problem is now i will have to learn to hunt." She growled at this. If she hadnt been born in a Humane Society.... "So where does this road lead?"
Climbing out of the cage, she gazed at the old paved road in silence. This lead somewhere. No one knew until they were there. There was no going back. Suddenly, a car zoomed by, heading down the road. Tempest wondered what could be so amazing at the end that would cause the human to go so fast down the road?

Willow bounced up and down happily as the other cat looked up and replied. "I am Tempest. Tempest Moonshimmer." Willow squealed: "Oh, that's a beautiful name! Moonshimmer is so... awesome, you know? Moonshimmer." She fell back into silence as Tempest spoke again, but only to cut her off a minute later. "Of course you're not alone here! There's tons of cats here in Nenbrook. I can introduce you to some of them, if you want." Willow hadn't met many other cats in Nenbrook, preferring to stay on her own for the beginning, but now she was looking forward to meeting other cats and hopefully making friends. "Oh, I can teach you to hunt! It's really easy. See, all you have to do is crouch like this, then stalk like this, and then you pounce like this!" As she spoke, she demonstrated the moves to Tempest. With a funny growl, Willow pounced and landed right next to Tempest, her paws clapping together around an imaginary piece of prey. EVen though it was obvious, Willow next informed the tabby that you had to bite the prey to kill it. "See, that's the part of hunting that I hate. I mean, what's the point of killing all these animals? I know we have to eat and everything, but still. Poor animals!" She glanced sadly down the road in the direction of the woods, where it was easiest to catch prey like birds and squirrels. "So where does this road lead?" Tempest asked. Willow let out another excited squeak. "Well, that way is Nenbrook! It's the town, you know, and it's where most of us strays live. It's a really great place and the humans are usually really nice." After a short pause, she added, "Well, unless they catch you stealing their garbage. I don't know why they'd care, though, it's just garbage." Then, waving a paw towards a car that zoomed by on the road, Willow said, "And see that car? It's probably going to the woods; they're in that direction. I think they're called the Silvercrest Woods, but I don't really know. I haven't talked to enough cats to know all the names of everything." Glancing up at the older she-cat in front of her, Willow grinned. Her tail waving jauntily, she asked, "Do you wanna go to the woods with me? You can practice your hunting there." Expecting that the answer would be yes, Willow spun around and began padding towards the wood, stopping after a few paces to peer back at Tempest. [/blockquote]

Tempest Smiled at the young, enthusiastic cat. "Oh, that's a beautiful name! Moonshimmer is so... awesome, you know? Moonshimmer." Temepest laughed. "My mother named me Temepest. The humans never really called me anything more than cat. Moonshimmer also comes form my mother. She was once a stray, too.". Tempest began to have better thoughts of this new life. "Of course you're not alone here! There's tons of cats here in Nenbrook. I can introduce you to some of them, if you want." Nenbrook. Yes, Tempest had defiantly heard of this place. A lot of cats are cought and put in pounds here. Tempest smiled, "That would be great. The more friends i have, the better off i will defiantly be!" Although Tempest never really had friends, she wasnt going to back down form such a challenge. She was a shy cat, and quiet. But Also friendly.
"Oh, I can teach you to hunt! It's really easy. See, all you have to do is crouch like this, then stalk like this, and then you pounce like this!" Tempest nodded, watching intently. She imagined herself pouncing on a juicy mouse.... She watched Willow ademonstrate the moves intently. "See, that's the part of hunting that I hate. I mean, what's the point of killing all these animals? I know we have to eat and everything, but still. Poor animals!" "True, they have lives. But most would beleive that their point in life is to feed us. So then we will die and help plants grow. So then the prey eats the plants grown. Even if it is cruel, it is the circle of life." Tempest had never hunted before, but had always looked forward to her first kill.
Willow went on, but Tempest heard the word garbage. "Garbage!" she spat, "what kind of cat would eat that stuff? That stuff that has touched those nasty human lips!?" "Do you wanna go to the woods with me? You can practice your hunting there." At the word woods, Tempest's world opened wide. Silevercrest Woods. The feel of grass between her toes. Sticks cracking under her feet, and leaves crunching. The smell of pine trees.... "Let's go! Of course, after we practice, i want to explore the city. Maybe meet some more cats and find a place to sleep!" All of sudden Tempest was very excited. Surprisingly. What started out as a nightmare has become her adventure!

Willow jumped back nervously as Tempest exploded. "Garbage! What kind of cat would eat that stuff? That stuff that has touched those nasty human lips!?" The tan cat considered this, tipping her head to the side and watching Tempest calmly. "Well, sometimes it's not really their leftover food... sometimes they put out extra food that they have, because they don't need that much. And sometimes, if they have cats, they throw away their extra cat food, and that's always delicious. And -- get this -- there are some really nice humans who actually give us food instead of yelling at us." Willow's tail curled in excitement, thinking of those special people. "They out out these little bowls with some food or water in them. Sometimes they give us milk! I think milk is the best, really. It reminds me of home..." With a dreamy sigh, Willow sat down and curled her tail around her paws. But she snapped out of her reverie as Tempest gave an excited call. "Let's go!" Willow replied quickly: "Come on! And then maybe you can sleep with me! I have a den in the main part of Nenbrook. it's really nice and everything; really comfy. And I don't really know many cats, so we can meet new cats together!" Giving an excited bounce, Willow set off once more in the direction of the woods. "Come on!" she yowled again.

For the first time in a long time, Tempest felt a rush of excitement surge through her. She was on her heels, following Willow down the old road.
Trees, rabbits, mice, ferns all raced by her as she raced towards Silvercrest. She felt younger, exilerated, like no cat could out run her. Red cars with convertable tops sped by. The sound of Tempest's paws pounding on the sodden ground grew louder against her ears. The grass in between her toes tickled. She stared in amazement at the telephone poles speeding by. There was nothing Tempest wanted to do more than to keep following Willow throughout the forest. The breeze whipped at her fur. Then over the horizon it stood "So this is Nenbrook..." She meowed as they slowed. The large town was bustling in Friday activity. But the cat wanted to keep going. Takeing one last look at the town, she began racing behind Willow once more. ooc: oh dear, no muse! xD

Lavender was stalking carefully on the branches of a tall tree, it's branches hanging over the old road. On some outer branches, a robin was standing on a branch, singing it's tune. Lavender didn't want to eat the thing, but she was starving after the fight with that mutt, Bark. She wasn't hurt at all, thanks to her skills, and only had a sore side. She wasn't a fighter, but that case was different. She crept slightly closer, close enough to pounce, but a Fortune teller walked by across the street. Lavender Mistpaw HATED fortune tellers. She instantly Bristled, stiffened, and let out a furious and warning hiss. The robin squacked and took of. Lavender pounced at the end of the branch, mewing, "No!" But it was too late. The robin alerted all the prey in the area with it's thrush-like squacking. Lavvender couldn't find a foot-hold on the twigs, and she plummeted through the air. "AHHHHHHH!!!" she yowled, terrified, and hit the dusty road with a thud. Her orange, black, brown, and white pelt was covered in dust. She had landed on her back, and she turned herself over so that she could sit up. She shook the dust out of her coat, and began to lick a paw.
Just then, several twoleg kits on bicycles thundered past. Startled, Lavender yowled, and ran towards the tree she had fell out of, only to run headlong into a wooden fence that bordered this edge of the road. "Owwwwww......." she moaned, painfully.

Tempest followed her through the woods, staring wide-eyed at everything. "Isn't it great?" Willow purred, watching Tempest gleefully. I knew I could make her happier! Suddenly, though, she heard a loud yowl from the old road. Taking a sharp turn, the she-cat raced toward the wail. Someone's in trouble! "Come on!" she cried to Tempest. Willow slowed as she reached the road. Glancing from side to side nervously, she searched for the cat who had yowled. Suddenly, a cat raced out of a tree and dashed toward the road. "Watch out!" Willow cried, but to no avail: the cat crashed into the short wooden fence that lined this side of the road. "Oh, man," Willow muttered to herself as she hurried up to the stranger. "That must have hurt!" Bending over slightly, she reached out to sniff the cat who had run into the fence. "Are you okay?" she asked worriedly. The other cat moaned painfully: "Owww..." "Oh, dear," Willow sighed to Tempest. "She doesn't look so good." "Here, lie down," the tan she-cat murmured, gently nudging the cat towards a soft patch of grass. "Calm down... it's okay. Is your forehead bleeding?" Glancing at the cat for permission, Willow reached out a paw and began to comb through the fur on her forehead, searching for any scratches or scrapes.

The fresh, forest and pine scented air wisked though her fur. Her paws finnally touched soil and grass. She couldnt wait to hear the voice of another cat, a wild cat!
"Owwww"
Wasnt exactly what Tempest had in mind. Of course, Willow was running towards the distressed meow. Temoest sighed. But hey, if this was all it took to have a friend, then it was completely worth it. Tempest trailed behind Willow.
It was hard to respect the calico cat when she had run head first into a fence. 'she mustve been pretty distracted...' As Willow checked on this new cat, Tempest took her own to figure out what had caused everything. Tempest scanned the forest floor. Leaves were scattered in one designated spot. The spot was only the size of a regular cat. Hmm, could she have fallen? she wondered, takeing a sideward glance at the new cat. It seemed that this cat had been running away form the roadway. Maybe a human scared her? Mousdung, birdbrained, crowfood eaters! Tempest hated humans with a burning passion....

[ooc: Sorry for the wait... No time to post sometimes!!! Avalanche: Your fine. ]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lavender slowly reopened her eyes. Her vision was blurred and slightly scattered, but she could make out... six? No, two shapes by her. The orange and brownish one was combing through her forehead, obviously looking for something, and a black and grey shape, too. That one was scanning something for some reason. The blur faded away to sharper vision, and she saw that the shapes were two she-cats, an orange siamese and a dark grey tabby. Lavender thought about what had happened. 'Ok, so I was staring, the fortune teller person, the alarmed bird, the wind in my face, the dust in my eyes, running, pain and black out. I wake up in a bush. Oh, the siamese must be looking for scratches or something, and the tabby is looking for evidence of what happened. Yeah, that makes sense,' Lavender thought. The she-cat forced herself up into a sitting position. She felt a little dizzy, and she had a throbbing headache. She looked at the orange she-cat. "Umm, hi. I'm Lavender Mistpaw. I suppose you saw all of that..." she mewed, kneading the ground nervously with her orange and black front paws.

Finding no scratches or scrapes on the cat's forehead, Willow stepped back and poked her gently, trying to get her to move. "Come on..." she muttered, wanting to talk to her. Willow flicked her ears excitedly as the calico pushed herself up into a sitting position. "Umm, hi. I'm Lavender Mistpaw. I suppose you saw all of that..." the other cat said, scuffing her paws against the ground. "I'm Willow -- Willow Cloudrunner -- and this is Tempest Moonshimmer," Willow meowed, jerking her head towards Tempest as she said her name. Yeah, we saw all of it. It was some crash! Are you okay?" Willow stood and circled Lavender quickly, peering at her closely and trying to see if she was hurt. Sitting in front of the calico again, Willow gave an embarrassed mrrow. "Sorry..." Now it was her turn to knead the ground nervously, wondering if Lavender thought she was annoying at all. "I do this a lot... sorry if I seem kind of..." Willow trailed off. I really hope she doesn't think I'm a pest. But hey -- I'm just trying to help! So it's fine, right? Cheerful once again, Willow glanced up and waved her tail quickly. [/blockquote]

Yeah we saw all of it. That was some crash! Are you ok?Lavender blushed a little. "Yeah, i'm fine. I just have a headache..." the calico mewed. "Sorry... I do this a lot... sorry if i seem kind of..."Lavender gave Willow a sympathetic look. "No, you're fine," lavender meowed. "I can be a little clumsy at times," she continued and flicked her left ear towards the tree she fell out of, the fence she ran into right below it. Willow seemed like the nicest cat Lavender had met, out of the four she had seen so far. 'I think we could be good friends...' the she-cat thought. "Ya' know what? I think I know who caused that!!! It was that dang fortune teller!!! Oh, ho ho!!! Someday... One of them will pay..." lavender hissed, her shoulder fur bristling as she sheathed and unsheathed her claws. "Sorry... I hate fortune tellers..." she said turning to the side a little and unbristling her fur. Her claws were sheathed. [ooc: Sorry. No muse... ]

[ooc: sorry for ignoring Tempest! -writes post with Tempest in mind- ]
Willow blinked happily as Lavender talked to her, but her happiness turned quickly to confusion as Lavender began ranting about some thing called a 'fortune teller.' Tipping her head to the side, the she-cat watched, bemused, as her fur began to bristle and her claws slid in and out. "Fortune teller?" Willow interrupted. "What's a fortune teller? They sure sound interesting... why do you hate them so much? What do they do, anyway? Tell your fortune?" She gave a quick, high-pitched laugh as she guessed the obvious. Turning to Tempest, she hissed quietly: "Do you know what a fortune teller is? Are they really mean or something?" After giving a sidelong glance at the calico, Willow realized that what she was doing might be rude. "Sorry," she muttered, turning back to Lavender, who now seemed to have calmed down. Willow shook her head at Lavender's apology. "No, it's fine, don't apologize. Just... what's a fortune teller? Could you tell me, please? See, now you got me all curious!" Willow laughed, her ears pricked in curiosity. [/blockquote]
