Name: Ivy Goldthorn Gender: Female Date of Birth: May 10th 05. Height: 55 cm. Sexual Preference: Bisexual with a male preference. Status: Not spayed. Breed: Siberian Husky.
Coat Color: White. Coat Pattern: Black splotch. Eye Color: Bright green. Fur Length: Short. Appearance Extra: Standing 55 cm in height Ivy is on the center line of her breed’s scale, smaller then some of the brute’s but larger then most of the fae’s. Ivy’s coat pattern is the most well known of the huskies, the typical black and white look with the recognizable husky pattern. Ivy’s coat is thick, giving her a very ‘fluffy’ look and feel and the fur on her tail are longer and straight. Ivy also wears an old leather collar that was given to her by her old owners as she’s unable to find a way to get it off.
History: Ivy was born on a ranch, her mother and father were both owned by the older couple and their grown children that managed the ranch. Ivy was born in a litter of 4; she had 3 brothers and one sister, and out of all of them Ivy was the only one that had bright green eyes. Her parents and her humans were very surprised to find out the pup had green eyes, as neither of her parents, nor did any of her siblings had them. But all the same Ivy was treated well on the farm with plenty of places to run and hide and plenty to eat. Once Ivy and her siblings were weaned they would have to leave the farm to new homes, as the owners of the ranch did not want more then two dogs running around, so they put an add in the paper for free Husky pups.
Ivy was chosen by a young male of about 15 to go home with, the two had bonded right away and Ivy loved her new human very much, but even still saying good bye to her family was hard, as it should be. Ivy’s new home was a bit small, but her human made sure she got everything she needed. In the new house there was also a cat, his name was Dizzy and he had been their pet first before Ivy came. Though it was a bit rocky at first, the dog and the cat eventually became good friends. Ivy’s first year or so with her new family went smoothly, she was treated well and made good friends with the neighborhood dogs.
One in particular caught her attention, he was a gorgeous Germen Shepard named Copper, but he was older then her by several years and she was told by her best friend –a chocolate lap named Iris- that he was way to far out of her league. Even still, Ivy tried to catch his attention by acting older then she usually did to impress him. It worked and the two began getting closer, however, Copper soon caught the young Husky playing with Iris and he had to let her go, saying he could never love a dog that acted like a pup. Ivy was hurt by his rejection, but she forgot him quickly with Iris’ help and was able to move on.
Not too long after Ivy’s second birthday two new cats were introduced into her family, their names were Smokey and Slashy Silverleaf. Being very used to having cats around at this point Ivy accepted them into her life without a hassle, the two were just kittens and they all got along well. However, things between the three cats got ugly quickly as the two females started to scrap over the male. Not wanted to get too involved, Ivy just comforted the sisters as it was necessary and did what she could to help.
In the end Smokey ended up catching the two other cats together and was heartbroken. With her own experience of heartbreak in the past, Ivy did her best to comfort the young cat. During the time that Ivy was giving her friend comfort the two became closer; both of them belonged to the same human in the house so the three of them were like a family inside of a family, ready to help wherever it was needed, no matter what it was. Not too long after that Dizzy died because of a bad heart condition, and after an apologetic conversation, Smokey and her sister made up with each other and were friends again. Ivy was happy for the sisters, and very glad they had become friends again.
One day, the family planned a trip for themselves and the cats, but because they couldn’t take Ivy with them, they had to leave her with a dog sitter. Not knowing her humans were only going on a trip, Ivy thought they had abandoned her and, angry with them, the young fae ran from her sitter. Ivy eventually made her way to Nenbrook and decided to stay for awhile as the place intrigued her. Little did Ivy know, she would end up apart of a much bigger plot.
Personality: Ivy is a very sweet young husky, she’s kind to nearly everyone and loves to make friends. She’s as energetic as a puppy even with her grown age and will run up to anyone with a wagging tail, no matter how mean they seem to come across. Ivy is the type to try and make a friend out of anyone, no matter the breed or personality, she very persistent and the type to get things done once she starts them, most of the time, anyway. Some days Ivy can be very absentminded and most things will go in one ear and out the other, but most days Ivy is a very good listener, despite her hyperness. Having grown up with felines Ivy is very fond of cats and would never think of hurting them as most dogs would.
Being a husky Ivy is naturally a good hunter and very good at doing active things, she’s not at all lazy and prefers to just have short powernaps instead of actually sleeping long periods. Though Ivy holds a small grudge on her old humans for ‘leaving’ her, she doesn’t hold that for all humans, and thought she would rather stay a stray then be in a human’s house again, she does enjoy a good play once and awhile. On that note, Ivy has a hard time keeping grudges and, though she might explode on someone for something they’ve done, within a few days –or even a few hours- she’ll have forgiven them and gotten past it. That aspect surprises others sometimes, as when they come to apologize or talk about what happened, they just get told not to worry about it and that she’s forgiven them.
Ivy is an escape artist and can get herself out of nearly any situation if she can think quickly enough. Ivy is a bit slow, and the type to laugh at something she was told the day before because she just realized what it meant, though she does try to do her best to understand everything other’s are telling her. The husky’s favorite season is winter, she loved the snow and her thick coat is perfect for the cold weather, during the other season Ivy is quick to take a swim in any available water to cool off, because, though her coat does thin out in the spring she still gets hot pretty easily.
In short Ivy is a sweet, fun loving, energetic dog that loves to play and make friends, she has a hard time being on her own for a long time and rarely gets depressed or angry. She’s a fierce hunter and a good fighter if provoked to that, or if someone actually manages to piss her off –which is really hard mind you-. It’s easy to get on this dog’s good side and hard to get on her bad, and once you become her friend you’re her friend for life, no matter what. She’s very social and quick to jump into a conversation she wasn’t invited to. She’s also a very good friend and will put her own life aside for a close friend. She’s really very wise and when the times get tough it’s almost as though she turns into a different dog, she becomes more serious and offers her advice if it’s asked for or not.
