Name: Eclipse Moonshard.
Gender: Female.
Date of Birth: May 13th 2005.
Height: 19 CM.
Sexual Preference: Uknown as she’s never thought about it before.
Status: Not spayed.
Coat Color: Black.
Coat Pattern: Special marking (White crescent on forehead).
Eye Color: Yellow.
Fur Length: Short.
Appearance Extra: Eclipse is on the smaller end of the cat scale, standing about 19 CM tall. She’s lean and dainty, looking almost malnourished in the right light, as she doesn’t eat much. Eclipse’s eyes are a bright, almost eerie yellow, her stare making it seem almost as though she’s looking right into your soul, which could be exactly what she’s doing. Eclipse also has a white crescent moon on her forehead as a result of the radiation exposure when she was younger. Her fur is short, silky, smooth and very soft to the touch, even softer then normal thanks to the experiments done on her.
History: There were several unusual things about Eclipse’s birth, first, it was Friday the 13th, ironic for a black cat to be born then, no? Second, it was a full moon that shone in the sky the night the black kitten known as Eclipse was born. Third, she was the only survivor of her litter, the rest were still born. And fourth, probably the weirdest of them all, this ebony cat’s mother was white and her father was a brown tabby. All of her diseased siblings were a mix of the two… Except for Eclipse.
Eclipse was born in a lab that did tests on animals with human products. They used cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals and most were born and raised in the lab. Upon Eclipse’s birth she was taken from her mother and bottle fed, looked after by the humans in the lab. The femme was treated well in the hands of the humans for the first year or so of her life, they looked after her and played with her, however she never had that motherly bond with anyone, and deep down was a very lonely kitten. She had no litter mates, no family, and, though the humans that looked after her were very nice, she missed feline company, she was isolated. Eclipse became attached to one person in particular at the lab; he was a lonely 15 year old boy that only came to look after the cats. His father was the owner of the lab, and the boy worked for free.
Max –the boy in question- had no friends at school or in life, and spent his time playing with the kittens at the lab, particularly Eclipse. Max and Eclipse had, what Eclipse now calls a ‘spiritual connection’, a connection between a human and an animal that, though neither normally realizes it, brings them together and gives them an unbreakable bond of friendship. Max was also the one to name Eclipse, who, up until then, had only been called Kitten 537. As Eclipse reached her first 12 moons of physical being (Eclipse talk for a year of living) it was time for her to start her job at the lab; testing products. Though Max was against the thought of his beloved Eclipse having possible dangerous products put on her he really had no choice in the matter, as that’s what she was bred for.
So Eclipse was put through a series of tests with different products; shampoos, hair sprays, perfumes and countless other things. And because of these tests Eclipse was exposed to kinds of radiation, harmful radiations… Well, harmful in a way. One of the first things that the radiations gave Eclipse was a power, a power that the fae had known nothing about up until then. She started seeing bits of her past and future in her dreams, she started being able to understand humans through vibes they gave off, and she was able to get an idea of what humans and other animals were thinking. Eclipse started seeing creatures and other things that no one else to see, fairies that talked to her, and guided her, they were her spirit guides, they said, and they were there to help her through the paroles of life and help her with her new talent. Eclipse had become a psychic.
The other things that the experiments did to the young feline weren’t really bad; but they were noticeable. After a couple of months the lab workers and Max noticed something on the young fae’s forehead, it was a lighter mark of fur in the shape of a crescent moon. The workers told a worried Max that it would go away in a few days; but it didn’t, the new marking on the fae was permanent. The other thing that changed about the psychic fae was the feel of her fur, through her first year and three quarters of living her fur was like any other short hairs; a little soft and slightly course, but now, thanks to some of the shampoo products that were actually effective, Eclipse’s fur was even softer then a normal long hair cat’s.
As Eclipse’s second year was approaching, the scientists at the lab began to talk about putting her down, she was getting too old to be really useful to them anymore, and because of the effects the radiation had, had on her they were afraid to breed her as they didn’t know what would happen with the kittens. Horrified with the news that reached his ears, Max set out to save his beloved little kitten. First Max went to his father, but he refused to do anything about it, saying her time at the lab was up and that was that. Angry at his father Max went to talk to his mother, she was sympathetic, but they just couldn’t afford to keep a cat in the house at the moment.
Having no option left Max was forced to smuggle Eclipse from the lab. Knowing Max’s intentions were to help her Eclipse complied with what he needed her to do. Once out of the lab Max took her to a place behind his house in the ally way and told her that he would look after her here. Oddly enough, the night Max smuggled her out of the lab was the night of a full moon. Eclipse had never seen the world outside the lab before that day, and the first thing her sunflower yellow eyes laid on when she was taken from the lab, was the full moon. In awe about the beauty of the world she had never seen before, Eclipse fell in love with the outdoors, especially the moon.
Each day after that Max brought out food to her, and each day Eclipse allowed herself to wander further from Max’s home, finally meeting other cats and socializing with more then just the humans in the lab. It was hard at first for Eclipse, but with the help of her invisible fairy friends she was able to adapt quickly. Learning how to hunt for herself was another hurdle to jump, but thanks to Max, Eclipse was able to practice her hunting skills without getting weak or hungry.
Eclipse’s life was finally starting to look up, that was until the day Max’s father heard him talking to one of his new school friends abut a ‘cat’ he was keeping behind the house. Furious that the missing lab cat was his son’s fault, Max’s father scared Eclipse off. And though Eclipse knew Max went looking for her several times after she was chased off, Eclipse refused to cause her friend any more trouble. It pained the ebony fae to leave her best friend, but she knew it was the right thing to do, and so Eclipse left the little town she had called home for the first two years of her life and headed onward.
The next year of her living Eclipse spent walking from town to town, it was during this time that she really got closer to nature and in doing so a new hatred grew for humans, the way they littered and abused the natural land to make room for what they wanted. They were selfish creatures in her eyes, but there was still a fond memory of Max, a memory that never truly faded, reminding her that humans could be good, if they tried. Eclipse’s third year came and past and the ebony fae found herself in a small town. Nenbrook was different from the other places she had been, it wasn’t as unnatural as the others. After exploring a bit, Eclipse decided to stay for awhile, and, perhaps, she would meet some new friends… If they can learn to understand her, that is.
Personality:
I’m not crazy just mildly insane…
Eclipse is not a normal cat, that’s for sure. The ebony cat is very calm, she never fights with anyone and it’s almost impossible to make her angry, for when Eclipse does get annoyed, the fae simply excuses herself from the situation and moves on. It’s really that simple. Eclipse is quiet, and some would say anti-social, though she really doesn’t have a problem talking to others, she does like to be by herself and rarely puts herself into social situations if it’s unnecessary. When talking to others Eclipse has a habit of zoning out if she’s not into the conversation, getting distracted by things like birds and clouds. She can also fake this and surprise others by commenting on what they’re talking about despite her absent appearance.
Eclipse is connected more with nature then anything else and loves spending her time just sitting in forests, preferring them a lot more then human towns or cities, not only because of the other wild life, but also because the night sky is seen so much more beautiful in the country then the cities. Eclipse can sometimes be found talking to the air itself, though if questioned about it she tells people she was talking to the fairies, and that only she can see them because they only let her see them. Though she has never been able to prove to anyone this fact so it’s unknown if she is telling the truth or if the radiations from her time at the lab just scrambled a bit of her brain.
Eclipse believes highly in the thought of souls; the idea that the soul inside of the body is there to learn, and that each person and animal’s life is there for a reason, for the soul to learn more before moving onto the next creature, that is something Eclipse believes in whole heartedly. Eclipse really doesn’t care what other’s think of her, to the fae, it doesn’t matter whether others like her, or if they think she’s crazy, she’s herself and she loves whom she is, and that’s all that matters. It’s take it or leave it with Eclipse, however she is very open to giving chances and respects those that try.
If you do make a friend of the ebony fae you’ve made a friend for life, she never forgets a soul she’s made friends with; you could never see her for years, but she would still risk every hair on her body to save your life. The word ‘enemies’ is not a word Eclipse puts beside anyone’s name, annoyance, perhaps, but never enemies or hate, and it’s always possible to redeem yourself with the ebony fae. As stated before it is very difficult to make this cat angry to the point of yelling, however it is possible, if you insult the one’s she loves enough, she will snap, though she’s quick to apologize if you comply.
Eclipse has a habit of treating pups in the same way she would treat an adult, but does realize that young ones need watching over at times and does her best to comply. Because of Eclipse’s lack of social skills she doesn’t know much about relationships stronger then friendships and is oblivious to flirting unless it’s right in her face, and not flirting herself unless it’s unintentional. Eclipse is not really the playful type and often comes across tired or even lazy. She’s rarely seen running or in a hurry in any way, the only time being when a friend is in trouble and needs her help.
All around Eclipse is an absentminded, nature loving, friendly but quiet cat and an interesting one to get to know. She’s an amazing friend if you take the time to get to know her and great at what she does. She’s a little bit mentally unstable and under socialized, but all in all she’s a unique, fun loving soul.
About her psychic ability:
Sometimes you need to see with more then just your eyes…
The one thing you should know about this ebony cat is that she’s a psychic. Eclipse has been having visions of her own, others and even items pasts and futures since she was two years of age. The downside of these visions, however, is that she cannot control when she has them, making her zone out at some of the worst times. Her visions also make her tired; however it depends on the strength of the vision on how tired it makes her afterwards. Eclipse’s visions happen when she makes contact with something; from physical touch with another cat, to stepping in the same place another had once, however touching something doesn’t always trigger her visions. Eclipse also has the ability to get vibes from other’s thoughts (this also gives her the ability to know other’s names without being told) though never word for word; if someone doesn’t like her or thinks she’s weird, Eclipse is sure to know it.
I’m not always at my best…
The power of Eclipse’s psychic powers is determined by the phase of the moon. Eclipse is most powerful during a full moon, which is also her favorite time to be outside, sometimes spending all night just sitting and staring at the vast night sky. Eclipse loves the night very much and is usually her time for thinking and collecting her thoughts. Eclipse is weakest both physically and mentally during a new moon; she cannot walk, hunt or do anything but sleep during this time and appears very sickly to anyone who may come across her. So in short, the fuller the moon is the more powerful Eclipse’s psychic powers are. During an eclipse of the moon is the one time you must watch out for the ebony fae, as she becomes very irritable, stubborn, snappish and very, very un-Eclipse like. Thankfully, eclipses of the moon are very rare occurrences.
