I've got sunshine on a cloudy day.[Reserved for Dandi] The ivory cat bounced his way under some growths and around some tree trunks. His ears perked up as staright as his tail, and he picked up the slight bubbling of a stream. "That's where I'll go. I'm parched anyway." Humming he made his way down the invisible scent line that lead to the water. He stepped lightly, not wanting to disturb any feline residence, although he did feel like being his obnoxious self. "that can always wait, I suppose!
He saw the clearing that lead to the bank of the babbling brook. He sighed and looked around, as he limped toward the water's edge. "So many scents, but not a cat in site! Haven pursed his lips and headed for the water. Looking from boulder to boulder, from tree to boring tree he couldn't help but repeat himself over and over
"Scum, scum, scum...Oh look a tree, uhp no no still scum..." This had already been his third day in The land of Stray Cats and he had only met one cat, a she-cat which he was proud about, but no one else. Padding lightly toward the water bank he slowly dipped his head to the water. Lapping a few shots of water down, he couldn't help but lower his white paws into the water as well.
"This water is so clear. Is amazing since it's in the middle of the forsaken forest." Haven said, amazment swirling in his ruby red eyes. The gentle push of the water swilred around his paws, relief filling evey muscle in Haven's lean, albino, body. His poor kitten paws still weren't used to the harsh treatment of the forest floor and they were starting to become tough and harsh beneath him.
One-by-one he lifted each paw out of the water to lick and slipped it back in. He figured he had nothing better to do, so he planted his body on the mushy ground. If anything we wouldn't mind if he died next to this sweet steam. "Just fall, asleep and waste away I guess... humph!" Haven mewed aloud. Of course dying was the lat thing on his mind, bu laying next t a stream so quite, why not htink of the unordinary.

I got a pocket Got a pocket full of sunshine
A tiny black and white ball fluff bounced it's way down the bank of the river. Actually, it was a kitten by the name of Dandelion Sunseed, laughing to herself as she giggled, leaping after every butterfly or dandelion seed that floated by. "Hey!" she giggled when she succeeded in snagging a clump of pale white fluffy dandelion seeds that had been floating by in her claws. She gave a little laugh. "Dandelion seeds! Like me!" She continued to giggle, seemingly unable to stop. "But I'm not a dandelion. I'm Dandi - much cooler," she assured herself, before giving another laugh and shaking the seeds off her paw.
Still laughing, she suddenly dashed off, running parallel to the stream as fast as her little paws would take her. When she finally, stopped, out of breath, she collapsed onto the ground in a pile of reeds, laughing deliriously. She was just so happy! It was impossible not to be on such an amazing day like this one! Giggling, she pulled herself up to her paws at the sound of a nearby voice, wondering who could possibly be talking to who. Were they addressing her? Dandi perked up. "Hello?" she called out with another giggle - they were impossible to quell.
After a quick glance she spotted the source of the voice, a white tom lying tin the shallows not too far away, seemingly unaware of her. But then... who was he talking too? Dandi's brow furrowed in confusion. There was no one else! Ooh, maybe he was talking to himself! She laughed at the thought and pranced over, casting a shadow over him. "'Ello!" she chirped with a toothy smile. "Were you just, like, talking to yourself right now?" Without waiting for an answer she flashed him another grin and introduced herself. "I'm Dandi! Dandelion actually cause my fur was so tufty when I was little! Still is," she admitted with a laugh.
"But not yellow," she hastened to ensure him, mentally giggling at the fact that she gave this little speech to absolutely everyone that she ran into. "Dandelion Sunseed," she added, realizing that she hadn't offered her last name. "You?" she asked curiously, tucking her tail under her paws as she glanced down at him. Wrinkling her nose slightly, Dandi was hard put to bite her tongue and finally blurted the question in her mind. "Why are you lying in like, mud?" she asked, giving a slight shiver. "Or at least, mushy stuff," she amended hastily, not wanting to offend the tom. He was cute! She giggled again.

The albino tabby's thoughts were interuppted by a constant giggle. What the ? Before he cold make out where the melotic laughter was coming from, a small shadow loomed over him. A small black and white kitten with tuffty fur started to babble on about herself, almost as fast as the stream flowed. Haven stumbled into a sitting position and was about to answer her question, but she kept mewing away.
He couldn't help but chucke at this small kittens friendly, yet hyper disposition. He smiled at this small kit, he liked her personality already. She sort of reminded him of himself.
He watched hercuriously and when she asked his name, he knew better then to talkk right away in fear he would ruin the little kits fast-track chatting. He soaked in her name for a minute and tasted her scent for future references. Just in case he lost her and wanted to find her again he could. Dandelion, huh? Cute name. Fits perfect, shes as vibrant as a dandelion's color. He yawed and stretched his front paws and shook his ivory pelt.
"Why are you lying in like, mud?" He caught that question and turned bright pink, clearly the color shown threw his pelt. Not wanting to look like a fool he turned to her with a sheepish grin "It's good for the fur! Didn't you know that? Why of course you did. Your pelt is almost as brilliant as mine" He chuckled. He bowed curtly and addressed himself, "The name is Haven Frozenpool, at your service!" He licked Dandi friendly on the ear. "Nice to meet you Dandi! hmm, Dandi as sweet as candy!Haha" He chuckled and limped off into the water. His hind leg hurt a bit, due to the scar but he was too excited at this little kits arrival that he couldn't help but keep his attention on her.
He went deep enough to where the crystal water touched his belly fur. He licked the mud off little-by-little and turned to Dandi who was still on the bank, "But it's always good to clean the mud off. If you leave it on for too long, your fur will fall off!" Haven fibbed wide eyes, to add to the effect. He bounced around in the water splashing like a new-born kit. "So Dandi, How old are you? Maybe 3 months give or take?" He loved the color of Dandi's eyes ad couldn't stop staring.

The kitten wrinkled her nose and gave a disbelieving laugh. "Good for your fur?" she repeated, as if making sure she'd heard correctly. Dandi rolled her eyes at the obvious ignorance of this tom. "Come awn, you're not that dumb, are you? Mud makes fur sticky and dirty and is disgusting to clean!" She giggled, tilting her head to the side and smiling sweetly. "But I'll choose to believe you were joking," she teased, winking at him. It had obviously been a joke to cover up the fact that... he'd been lying in mud! She gave another little giggle. "Thanks for the compliment," she added with a flirty grin. "But rest assured no mud has ever been near this glossy pelt of mine. Or at least not on purpose," she added, remembering a few occasions where she'd splashed around in some water that had ended up being less than perfectly clean.
But what if mud was good for your fur and she now seemed like an idiot! What if there was a way to make her fur even prettier! Dandi froze in horror for a moment before realizing that the best thing to do would be to carry on the conversation normally and get off the subject. "Glad to meet cha too, Haven," she giggled, offering up an award-winning smile before giggling at his comparison. "I suppose so," she laughed, knowing all the while that there were many layers to her and not all of them were quite "sweet". But she wasn't going to tell him that! "And you're Haven, just like..." Dandi paused, trying to think of a rhyme, annoyed when none came to mind. She gave a grudging laugh. "Nope, I've got nothing!" she announced with a grin.
Her eyes widened! Not only because of the fact that they had somehow gotten back to the subject of mud but because of what he was saying. "No way! Omigod, I always always knew mud was terrible but I never realized-" She sucked in her breath, shivering visibly as she thought of all the close calls she must have had without even realizing it. Unconsciously, Dandi found herself taking a step back from the river, wanting to put as much distance between her and the mud as possible. But that was silly. Haven had some on him and it was washing off without taking any fur with it. And she'd been a bit muddy before when she was playing around and hadn't suffered that horrid fate.
She narrowed her eyes and took a step back. "Hey!" she accused, trying not to grin. "You're just joking around aren't you!" She scampered down into the shallows, splashing water up into his face. "You big meanie!" she teased, splashing a final wave of water up at him. She giggled. "Gonna thank me for helping to get the mud before it took your fur off with it?" she teased tauntingly with a grin, taking a few steps back so she stood on the sand just at the water's edge.
Dandi gasped and made a high-pitched offended sound. Ah!" She widened her eyes. "Excuse me?" she screeched, pouting forlornly at Haven. "Three months? Five, thank you very much," she corrected, narrowing her eyes as if she was mad. She wasn't. Normally she would have even laughed or just splashed him more. But Haven was cute and obviously older than her - she didn't need him thinking she was any younger than she was. Grinning she pranced down into the water, ignoring the chill ans she made her way over to Haven, grinning now that she was done being mock offended. "And how old are you?" she asked innocently. "Five years?" she teased, her golden eyes sparkling mischievously.

Haven gave a smug look to Dandi as she foiled his lies. He gave a chuckle when her cute little kitten face was polluted with shere shock at his inquiry to how bad mud really was. She took a few steps back and Haven's face turned from playing around to shere hope that she wouldn't dash away. He was used to she-cats running away from his immiture statements. He took a few steps toward the bank, just in case Dandi took a run for it. But what would Haven have done,? Run after her and then what? Luckily she didn't run but actually took a few steps agin toward the water.
He chuckled again after she regained her composure and called him a meanie. He peered at her know, relief flooding through his body, with a grin that said "of course I'm a meanie, and proud of it" but he meaowed a statement totally opposite "Me? A meanie? Thats absolutely crazy. I'm a charmer, not a harmer" He winked at her and she bounded toward the water and splashed a bit. Haven was filled with such excitement that his pelt stood on end.
"Gonna thank me for helping to get the mud before it took your fur off with it?" [/i] Dandi taunted with the sweetest smile he had ever seen. Dandi moved herself back on the soft sand and Haven watched her admiringly. "I appreciate your help, believe me the last thing I want is my gorgeous white pelt to fall off" He said sarcasticly, but with a grin. Then I'd be more of a freak then I already am..., Deep down Haven wasn't always comfortable with his albino fur, and he was teased al lot as he sat at the pound waiting for his death. "Oh Five! My apologizes, sweets! You're a little small aren't you?" Haven grinned and laughed to himself as Dandi tried to pull off being mad, which didn't seem to work out for her. She was a cute cat, worth getting to know, a lot better...heh. Haven looked at the small she-cat bouncce into the water. He was actually surprised as she battled her kitten scenses that screamed "The water is a bit cold". She made her was gently to Haven's side and innocently asked him a question, clearly to get him back. Haven chuckled again and tapped Dandi on the nose with his tail. "No and lucky for you I'm only 11 months." Haven mewed teasing the she-cat. "But I'm turning into an adult real....soon" Haven's mind trailed off a bit at the thought. He was going to be an adult, and much would probably be expected. But then again he was not under the evil powers of humans anymore and he could act like a playful kit if he wanted to or not. Of course when the time called for being serious he would perform his duties without a doubt. But for now he'd be the kitten he was. As he took a step toward shore a small pebble beneath him rolled under his foot causeing his bad leg to strain a bit. "Ouch!" He yowled and quickly bit his lip. He was taught to never reveal your weaknesses to any cat. [/blockquote]

Dandi laughed. "A charmer, eh?" she questioned, eying the tom with obviously exaggerated appreciation. She gave a giggle. "So I s'pose you do have your uses then," she teased, her eyes gleaming. She stalked closer to Haven, as if she was hunting some mouse or something. In a way, she was hunting - stalking down this delightful tom who she was already having so much fun with. Haven was amazing, there was no question about it. And Dandi was nowhere near about to let her 5 months of age prevent her from winning him over. It would simply be a matter of precision and charm, which was something she'd really be instilled with from birth. She flashed a grin.
"I don't think any of us want that," she said with a laugh. "No, it would definitely be a shame. And a fright! Imagine having to go around bald!" She shivered in mock horror, though honestly the idea was incredibly repelling - nightmarishly even. She giggled. She'd never have to worry about any of that stuff. She was uber cautious about making sure her gorgeous gorgeous pelt never came to any harm. The mud thing was definitely something she'd be careful about in the future though, even if Haven was just teasing her about it. It never hurt to be careful. Then again, careful wasn't exactly high on Dandi's list of qualities - she preferred to rush into the unknown and meet it head on. Cautious was synonymous to boring in her mind.
Many cats thought that Dandi was mean and would have been surprised to see her laughing away so pleasantly with Haven instead of teasing him or making witty and cruel comments to put him down. But the truth was simply that Dandi just clicked with some cats and then she was just friendly and bubbly and outgoing - the personality that was reserved for special cats of importance. She was obviously an outgoing little thing all the time and bubbly in nature but if she didn't think a cat was worth her time, she'd flawlessly manage to put them down so that they understood that she was obviously superior to them. Haven had managed to get himself in her good books right away, being obviously very cool.
She stuck her tongue out at the older tom. "There's nothing wrong with being tiny," she giggled. "I'd rather be small for my age than big," she said for a laugh. Haven was fun to hang around, she was discovering, and Dandi was growing more and sure that she'd want to spend more time with him. "Lucky for you I'm only 11 months..." Dandi grinned. Lucky for her? So Haven was acknowledging that it was a good thing they were close in age. But he'd said lucky for her. Not necessarily him. "Lucky for you too," she teased, her eyes gleaming as she splashed closer to him, drawing herself up as tall as she could. "Being five would be amazingly boring," she explained, widening her eyes in exaggeration.
She laughed, dashing another splash of cold water up at the tom before dancing off to shore. Pulling herself up onto the bank, Dandi proceeded to shake out her fur until it was dry - puffed up around her on end, it's tutfy-ness quite visible. She laughed. "This is what I meant when I talked about how I looked as a kitten," she giggled. "Cute, eh?" Her eyes sparkled and she couldn't manage to hold back another giggle. But an exclamation from Haven stopped her. "Haven?" She frowned slightly. "You okay?" She tilted her head to the side. It wasn't a big deal. She didn't want to seem worrisome cause truthfully she wasn't. "Step on a sharp rock, silly?" she teased.

"My uses? Hah! Of course. Not only am I a charmer but I can hunt quite well." Haven meowed a bit smug. Haven grinned as the small bundle of fur stalking toward him. He chuckled and tensed his muscles, just in case Dandi decided to actually pounce. She was sweet and full of energy, just how Haven liked it. Some females could be so moody, so touchy, and even if Haven could deal with it, it would be so hard dealing with a stressed out femme and be a newbie stray too.
The water flow picked up to a slight ripple. It lightly brushed against his belly fur and a shiver ran through his body, but he didn't mind. Bald would be scary..., and he couldn't help but laugh aloud at the thought. He had been able to freak Dandi out just a bit and he was satisfyed. "Your face says it all Dandi! Shere horror!" He bellowed a throughty laugh and then he straightened himself out, "Of course, your pelt is quite the glamorous sight." He hesitated at his compliment to the she-cat. He wasn't quite used to complimenting other cats, especially because he was taught only to car about himself. But for some reason this small kit brought out a new feeling in him some how.
He felt a warmth grow in him everytime her bell-like laughter reached his ears. Her laughter brought a smile to his face, every time amazingly enough. When he was a younger kit his owners at first treated him with such love and loyalty, but then things had changed. After they sold him siblings and mother he retaliated against his humans. They had taken his family and wanted him to grow up and use him to mate with the other she-cats. He was special in their eyes and he guarded himself, no longer trusting his humans. I will look after myself and no one else...If I let my guard down who knows what'll happen.
His old thoughts meant nothing to him now, not while in the presence of his new friend. "Yes, lucky for me aswell. I'm glad I'm not much older then you....for reasons I can't explain." Haven wasn't even sure what he meant. He found it funny to question himself, he'd never questioned himself. Funny, this bouncing cat in front of him even messed with his head. But he didn't mind one bit. In fact he liked the change. Haven laughed agian as Dandi splashed another round of waves in his direction. The water hit and he decided to follow her out.
The she-cat shook off her pretty pelt and her fur stood on end. She remarked about looking like she did now, as a kitten. Her tuffty fur sticking out on all end, "Cute, eh?. Haven smiled and sarcastically added "Oh how attractive! I can hardly look away..." He walked out and after snagging his foot on a rock he forced a smile and reassured Dandi that he was fine. I'm no wimp! Haven reprimanded himself. He pulled himself onto shore, limped across to Dandi. He sat down about a foot away and a breeze swooped through his fur. The sun was beaming down and he let it dry his fur a bit, before moving into the shade to protect his vulnerable albino skin.
Haven was a little taller then Dandi and he towered over her slightly. He saw a bit of dirt on her ear that she had accidently missed and before thinking, he helped her groom that part off. His tongue brushed softly over her ear, and he pulled back after he was done, embarased by what he had done. Geez! What's gotten into me?, "So Dandi how long have you been out here?" He mewed softly as he looked into the sky.

Dandi giggled, enjoying this time spent with Haven. It was definitely more preferable to hang out with younger cats than older ones - the older ones were always oh-so-boring. "Oh really?" she asked, acting all impressed. "I can too, you know," she boasted with a small grin. "Well not really all that well...." she paused to give a small laugh. "-but sometimes I catch whatever it is." She grinned at Haven, loving how energetic and just fun he was. He reminded her of Robin in this aspect - all the fun times they'd had together. Well, really not that many. But they had been super fun so that made up for it.
She laughed. "Completely terrifying," she agreed with a smirk. She grinned at the compliment though, straightening up a little bit. Dandi lived for compliments and loved them and this just made Haven all the better in her eyes. She flashed him a grin. "Why, thank you," she purred, dipping her head as if shy - ha! - before raising to glance at Haven, eyes glittering teasingly. She was never truly shy around cats, even those she didn't know. Dandi never had a problem being around cats she didn't know - it was so fun because she had absolutely no idea what this cat would be like and got to guess and learn about them and their personality. If you didn't know what someone was like then it was possible that they could be the funnest cat in the world! She giggled.
She arched one brow in interest when Haven spoke again. "And what would those reasons be?" she asked innocently, managing not to smirk. Mentally she couldn't help but give a little cheer that Haven was also glad that they were close in age. For Dandi, it was a great thing because it meant that they could be good friends and grow up together - though Haven would be growing up before her they were close enough in age that she wouldn't completely feel like a tag-a-long. Right? She ignored that thought, mentally rolling her eyes. She'd just met this cat and here she was, planning out how their friendship would grow and survive. She snorted. Silly Dandi, as always, jumping ahead of herself. Then again, "look before you leap" had been the saying her mother had used the most on her, she thought with a giggle.
Haven's questioned brought her out of her thoughts and back towards him and she flashed the tom a smile, giving a small shrug. "Well I was about two months when I came here so that makes... two months? Wait, no, three," she corrected with an apologetic grin. "I need to work on my addition," she joked, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "And you?" she asked after a moment, her head tilting to the side in question almost as an automatic reflex. "How long have you been on the streets, Haven?" She gave a small smile. "And how'd you get here?" she asked added after a second, hoping he might think to ask her the same question, it was a good story after all and one that made her look very cool. She giggled quietly.
