Juniper is OPEN
The dump smelled worse than usual. Well, actually, she had gotten pretty used to that rotting, decomposing smell; Over the past few months, it had become the smell of home. But now, looking at it from someone else’s view, for instance, Choolate’s(the pampered house cat she and Moon had met) view, there was a terrible stench. And now, she saw the reason why the stench was more terrible than usually. Well, there were filthy dogs trampling all over the garbage! Her fur fluffed up as she watched the scene in front of her.
She had arrived just in time to hear the orange she-cat’s words. Was she in charge? Who exactly was she? Juniper shrugged mentally. Although she liked to be in control of situations, she could just as easily follow as she could lead. Besides, who would listen to her? She was a tiny silver tabby she-cat with big ears who looked younger than she actually was… And, some might say, act younger too. She frowned as the cats around her plunged into battle, most of hem leaving her behind, though others lingered about with her. It looked apparent that she had missed some sort of briefing, since everyone seemed to know where to go and what to do and were teaming up in pairs or in threes or fours and going after their target of choice.
Looking around, she found no clues as to what she should be doing. Well, going after the dogs, of course, but she didn’t want to get in anyone’s way. A determined look settled over her. The other cats better not get in her way! She sighed, the determination that had gripped her for a few seconds fading like the colors of an old painting that had been carelessly left in the sun. If Moon was here, she would know what to do… Juniper suddenly became angry at herself. She shouldn’t have to rely on Moon for things. She was independent. She could leave this town and be just fine wit no one!
Geez, mood swings. She smirked at herself. While she was so caught up with trying to deal with her emotional, internal problems, the problem right in front of her was festering. She paced in a tight circle in frustration. All the dogs were taken! She looked at the other cats still left, and sized them up. She could probably outrun a few of them if a dog showed up sometime soon, which she hoped would happen… Well, soon. She wanted a piece of the action!
