OOC: Kay, here's how this will work. If you're partnered up already in a pairing with other members you can just make one post here with an OOC comment indicating that you are 'Taken' and then go of and start a thread with them on this board titled DogsName vs Catsnames. If you are partnered with inactive characters or were never partnered up but wish to join, make one post here with an OOC comment indicating you are 'Open' and then wait for someone else to pair up with you. You can also pair up with someone else. If you see someone that is 'Open' leave an OOC note with their name and then start a thread for the two of you. Once you are in a thread please edit your original post from 'Open' to 'Taken'. That make sense? I really hope so, but PM any questions to moi.
______________________________________________
The tiny orange tabby's fur bristled with anger, making her look nearly twice her size. How dare that filthy dog try and hurt her and her kittens! How dare he! Ha, they'd shown him, they'd shown him well enough, she thought smugly as she paced back and forth, her tail lashing from side to size behind her. Indigo glanced up from her path, a delighted smirk gracing her as she took in the number of other cats that had amassed her. Apparently she wasn't the only one who'd been trouble by the filthy pack of vermin. If those brutes thought they could come here and just shove the cats around, they were wrong. Dead wrong. Today was the day that they would be proven just how wrong. She just out a low laugh, her claws unsheathing and sheathing reflexively as she imagined what it would feel like to sink her claws into those dogs' fur. Oh yes, some of the other kitties didn't think a fight was necessary. Some of them thought they could could just hide out in this godforsaken dump until the dogs lost interest and wandered away. Idiots! Indigo wanted out of here, out of these caged fences and most of all, out of the dump. Too much had happened here.
She growled, fighting away any nostalgia and reminiscent thoughts. Now was so not the time for them that it wasn't even funny. She snorted. Most of all, she continued mentally - pumping herself up, so to speak - she wanted to slash and tear at those dogs and sink her teeth into them and make them sorry they had ever tried to pick a fight with her. She grinned at her rather violent mood, thoroughly enjoying it. And then, as if they'd been waiting for that particular train of thought to come to her and cue their arrival, Indigo caught the scent of dogs. Rather than freeze with terror, she looked up, her eyes narrowing while a grim smile occupied her expression. Finally, she thought, shaking her head slowly and continuing to grin like the maniac she was. Finally. The time for revenge had come. She laughed quietly but was unable to suppress that one thought - that one word that seemed determined to reverberate through her mind, echoing through every fiber of her body and leaving her no choice but o whisper it through her lips unconsciously as she glimpsed the dark forms loping nearer and nearer.
"Finally."
Indigo drew herself up to her full height - though that wasn't really all that much - and let out a fierce yowl.
Shiba ran quickly, the corpse in her mouth doing little to dull her speed. The blood was so good, so warm, she reveled in every drop that found it's way into her mouth, onto her tongue. Her eyes closed for the briefest moment as she imagined the blood that would be spilled today, all the warm, nice blood to lap up. Cat blood.
She slowed as they got closer to the glinting-in-the-sun-close-together-trees that encircled the pile of yummy trash the cats had come together on. They probably thought they were so clever - probably figured they were so safe in there. She snorted. Stupid little things. With a quick flick of her head, Shiba tossed the body she'd held in her jaws to the ground, her craving for the warm blood mounting as it left her mouth. She barked, indicating that Aspen should do the same and halted, waving her tail to show the other dogs to do the same. What would they do without her.
"Hello there, kitties," she cooed in a soft hiss, her paws beginning to knead at the ground as anticipation poured out of her, so hard to contain. "I see you've all brought friends." She laughed, a harsh barking noise with Aspen quickly took up from behind her. She grinned. "Good good, because the more the merrier. We dogs do get awfully hungry. That's why we brought along a little snack to munch on before we set about dealing with you." She laughed again and gave a sharp bark, at which point the other dogs surged forward, eager to finally begin feasting on the two unlucky cats who the pack had happened again. They'd really only been in the wrong place in the wrong time.
As if that was enough to save them.
Shiba held back, not feasting with the others. There would be plenty to eat later and she wanted to keep her hunger sharp. The whole feast here was really only for show anyway - to demoralize the other cats. Surely they would be upset by watching two other cats get eaten right in front of them. More than that, they'd be frightened, terrified out of their minds. They'd start imagining themselves in the place of the two cats, imagine that it was them getting eaten. Then simply, they'd panic, Shiba thought with cruel delight as her sharp eyes scanned over the cats inside the enclosure. And that was where the fun could really begin.
Indigo wanted nothing more than to avert her gaze and glance away from the grizzly scene unfolding before their eyes but she couldn't bring herself to do it. Remember this, she told herself as fury began to pump through her blood stream. "Remember this," she repeated in a low whisper to the other cats. "Remember this. They want to frighten us but it won't work. Remember this when you fight them and let it fuel your anger. They'll only serve to make us stronger." Her eyes glinted with anger, imagining how the pack must have chanced upon those cats somewhere and killed them. Had they been hungry or had they known all along that these were just to be used as examples? She let out a low hiss, unable to stop herself. She might not have known those two cats but she would sure as hell make sure that they're deaths didn't go unpunished. Revenge had always been a forte of hers.
Which is why, when the dogs finished eating and surged forward, barking uproariously, she didn't flinch, merely smiled a wicked smile. Which is why, when they began to dig at the ground and pull at the wire, she didn't snarl or back away. And which is why, when they succeeded in squeezing under and began to race up the hill, she didn't run away. She ran toward them, crying out savagely and unsheathing her claws as she sped down the hill of garbage. Her paws simply couldn't take her to them fast enough.

The silver femme in hiding watched, horrified, as the pack devoured the scraggly remains of what was once a living and breathing cat. She knew in the back of her mind it was their intents to strike such fear in their hearts, but even though she had the knowledge of such it was still very much hard to take her gilded gaze off of the destruction. Would she be one of the ones like that today, on this day of fighting? Or rather, would she be one left standing, one left to live and breathe another day?
The fear was replaced with anger. A cold, hard anger that made her optics glint menacingly at the furry four-legged monsters. How dare they come into our forest as if they own the land? How dare they kill the lives of innocent cats in their path for revenge? No good would ever come from what they had done. No good whatsoever. But, what do these damned dogs care about them? Such thoughts made her want to rip their pelts open before she could even think any thought of mercy. She wanted to hear them whine and run away, back to another land far from here. She wanted the cats to be victorious. But, was all that adrenaline coursing through her veins help them rise to the top, or push them into the ground? Too many questions go unanswered.
"Remember this...Remember this. They want to frighten us but it won't work. Remember this when you fight them and let it fuel your anger. They'll only serve to make us stronger."
[/i] The ginger femme nearby told her fellow cats. From a distance, she was your normal cat. But here, in such dire times, she was the captain, encouraging the troops and leading them to victory. Marigold closed her eyes in a silent thank you before re-opening them in a flash, just in case the battle had started to rage in that miniature blink of a second. She shifted her gaze from one cat to another. How many of these strong fighters will die today, fighting for their safety and the safety of their families? A shiver ran down her spine; would she be one of them? The dogs crawled under the fence and ran towards them. All that Marigold could her was the beating of her heart and the blood pumping through her viens. Indigo raced forward towards them in a battle cry, followed by others. The silver cat joined the yowl, gilded eyes glittering, but held back. She couldn't take on one of these dogs by herself. Who would fight with her? And who would she fight?

OOC: Great! Thanks for the help, Lu! And sure, Caddy can fight with Marigold CADMIUM SUNDANCE: taken
Opal Cloudpatch padded forward lazily. The sun was baking her fur, but the winds cooled her down. She opened her mouth slightly and sniffed the air. Hmm....cats? Normal. Fear-scent? Very strange. Dogs? HORRIBLE! Opal's fur bristled in alarm and her green eyes turned alert. She darted forward to join the other two cats. Cringing, she watched the dogs eat a fellow feline. She drew herself up to her full height. How dare they! she muttered, digging her claws into the ground. Filthy brutes, eating a cat. she growled in an almost inaudible voice. She unsheathed her claws, just waiting for them to sqiurm under the fence and into the dump. They can't be doing this to us.They're stupid, uneducated, filthy, wild wolves who don't even know their own name. She tried to imagine what dog blood would taste like, but stopped herself immediately. I can't think like that.
Opal glimpsed the dogs rushing towrd them. The ginger cat yowling as she rushed toward them. What?! Oh yeah... she meowed, sprinted forward to join the fight. Her claws itched in anticipation. She just couldn't wait to send those puppies away whimpering.

ooc: I'm not sure about this because I kinda have Silver already in two dffernt threads with some cats that she didn't get paired up with... Silver taken (with Raven and Rowen vrs Aspen.)
The silver form walked to the source of some food. The wrapping of what was left of a hamburger laid on the groud. Silver begain eating it.
Suddenly, the scent of blood filled her nose. Silver instantly looked up. Her nostrails flared, trying to find the scent. Then, she noticed something else. A forbiding scent. The scent of a dog. Silver's fur stood up. The blind cat growled.
Silver couldn;t tell how big the dogs were, she couldn't tell how sharp their teeth were. However, she could smeel their scent. Their scent alone told silver that they were indeed big and proably fearsome. However, just like she had ignored that in the fox, Silver ignored it in the dogs as well. She couldn't let anybody get away with killing a fellow cat.
Silver walked forward. The source of the scent where ti was strongest threatene to choke the cat. Her tail poofed, her back arched to make her look bigger. Silver hissed, showing off her own sharp teeth. Her blind eyes looked peircing, as if they were looking right threw the dogs.

ooc: Winter: opean
The white and blotchy form saw a group of dogs eating a cat. At first, the crazy cat stayed still. He watched as the blood of the carcuss of the other cat slowly went away. Glad I'm not a cat. Winter thaught.
The black blotched cat's green eyes studied them. He watched as they charged. Suddenyl, he started barking. Well... he was trying to bark. It was more of a high pitched MOOF then a bark. He was a dog! yepyep. He had to be.
The indentaty confused cat ran forward. He was a dog and they were attacking on HIS territory. He charged at them, barking and growling just like a dog would.
However, there was one problem. There were so many of them. Even Winter was smart enough to tell that he needed some help if he ished to defend himself. But who will help? Winter could aslo tell that it would be better take one of them first rather then all of them. but wich one should he fight? Three was just so mnay advantages in the adding up to the real dogs, and so few for the wanna-be-a-dog cat.

ooc:; Okays! I'm going to be really lazy and do both short posts here... Just a warning. x3 Osprey ::
Calamity seemed to have fallen on the town dump, as the fluffy black tom weaved his way through the fighting animals. His amber eyes were narrowed and determined. He would not fall to these disgusting dogs; whatever was going on here! Still wondering what everyone was doing, he let out a low snarl and leapt into the fray. One smaller dog dashed by him, followed by two large, snarling cats. Backing away slightly, he hid in the shadows underneath a discarded car, which was missing most of its windows and all four wheels. Unsheathing his claws, Osprey prepared to lash out at any dogs that happened to be passing by. He noticed a large dog snarling to her friends, and across the clearing an orange tabby mewing some quick advice to her fellow felines. Bunching his muscles, Ozzy knew what he had to do. These dogs were going to kill all the cats they could, and he knew, in his heart - he had to stop them.
Letting out a defiant battle cry, he leapt into the air, and began to sprint towards the dog he had seen speaking before; Shiba.
Caesar ::
A tall shadow passed over the dump, and there was low cackle that seemed to come from nothing but the gloomy darkness. Before any cat could blink an eye, a towering doberman emerged from the shade, his face twisted in a demonic smirk. He showed no respect for Shiba's authority, as he padded up to her. "Come on, Shiba. You know we're not doing this for food. The joy of killing is far greater," Caesar snarled deeply, still grinning. "It's just the thrill of one more kill. The blood on your fangs, the fear scents in your nose. That's what it's all about." His voice was dark and foreboding, yet he let out a long, low laugh. Caesar wasn't surprised as several canine heads swung towards him in mild confusion. He wasn't usually like this - he doubted whether any of them had even seen him in this state before. All traces of his usual understanding and kindness had faded from his glittering chocolate brown eyes, all he could think about was death, blood, and most of all, revenge.

OOC:// So I guess Chaos is taken? He's fighting with Stellar and Indigo against Caeser.XD I am gonna fight in this. lol.
The smell of trash and dogs filled the silver tabbies nostrils causing him to snarl in the age old rivalry, but now it's come to blood shed. He licked his lips in anticipation, for he didn't want to miss all the blood. The juicy red liquid that made his mouth water from time to time. His hackles raised in a fighting position, the dump or prison he was taken into just a few short days ago would be their battle-field now. Watching the dogs slide under the fence in such un-graceful amends he just spat at the ground, unsheathed his claws and followed the one ginger tabby in front of him. Yowling all the same, his heart pounded rhythmically to his movements as the dogs seemed to be coming closer and closer. His body movements seemed to increase in speed and power, as if the blood lust that he was feeling gave him the maddening strength that most cats didn't seem to have. Yet Chaos Crescentfang was an obedient cat, and stayed almost directly behind the ginger feline in front of him. The mass of cats around him didn't seem to have the deafening blood lust he had, but he didn't care. The blood lust would be fed and he would be content, cause it was Chaos that caused fear into most cats hearts as he almost seemed to stalk the dogs.
One in peculiar caught his interest, the doberman. It seemed well fed and had almost the same blood lust that Chaos had, smiling with the extra sharp and long teeth glittering with a dangerous intent . Oh it was time for a fight, one that he would remember for a long long time.
WC;; 285 Comments;; Not to good, mostly rambling. Sorry!

A ripple jerked across her spine, making black, brown, and gold hairs lurched to the beat of the rudely awakened. Harbor wrenched open one eye. She was awake. Now. A crash resounded behind her, along with a cough and screeching caterwaul. Her brow furrowed, and Harbor let her other lid slide open to reveal austere yellow pupils, glinting surreal in the dark shadow of a pile of trash behind her. Huh? Slowly, uncomfortably up bobbed her head, and readjusting her paws the tortoiseshell craned her neck to find the source of this noise. What the heck is going on? Mildly irritated that she’d been interrupted from her catnap Ms. Spitthorns got up, and stretched. She didn’t, as usual, feel any better after doing so. Smacking her lips to help wake herself up the tortoiseshell stepped over a sharp can lid and vaulted up the mountain beside, kicking back a Coca Cola can and a bright cylinder with the “Cambell’s” logo clinging to it by one side, a stack of messy newspapers, some sandwich bags as she neared the light again, and nearly slipped on a vast white trash bag as she neared the top, and hopped over to the side, jamming claws into some juice boxes and a flat tire. Steadying herself, Harbor looked over the protective wall around her resting place on the cardboard box. She shook out a paw that felt like it had something sticky on it first, actually. But as soon as the scene had her full attention—Harbor blinked and then straightened her pupils again.
Crap. Them was dogs. (ooc: Harbor- open)
I just created a dog charrie for this, if yet unapproved since that was about... ten mintues ago, maybe. But if she's approved I will post as her for the fight. And since she's a Great Dane, at most four cats--absolute maximum--could partner up with Fang. Does that sound okay?)

OOC;; Jarrah Eclipsemoon: open
The ivory tom snuck forward, keeping his bodice low in case the monsters up ahead spotted him. Afraid his white coat would give him away, he moved slowly but surely to behind a bush. It was not far from the mongrels, but too far to identify them. He saw a long haired white one, but he could realize what they were doing. They seemed to be laughing, while also stalking thier prey.
Jarrah spotted a group of cats in the distance, some in defence positions, while others are poised to attack. He gasped as he realized that an attack was about to begin, should he help? Should he risk his life to save others against these giant mongrels? Of coarse he should! He couldn't just walk away, couldn't just leave these cats with one less defender. But why were the dogs attacking anyway? Had the cats done something to offend them? Who knew.
Jarrah sighed, but took another step forward. A gasp escaped him as he realized snow was starting to fall, was this a good thing? If it became heavy, it would slow them down, but if it was light, it might hide their coats. But these dogs are bigger than us, it would only effect us if it became too heavy! Jarrah snorted, but continued forward, looking for anyone to pair up with and begin the fight.

(ooc: I don't know. I think its two cats per dog at least, though)
Caddy raced forward, alarmed by the scent of fear coming from the dump. He raced up onto the rubbish, greeted by a billion other cats. He narrowed his eyes, craning his neck to see where the fear-scent came from. His eyes almost popped out of his head. Dogs! Suddenly, he was afraid. VERY afraid. He backed away, letting a kittish mew escape his maw. Noo...not dogs... he muttered, glancing around. He almost laughed at the black-and-white kitten. How silly was that! Pretending to be a dog. But then, he narrowed his eyes again. That cat was fighting against its own kind. It would pay.
But even with these venemous thoughts, poor afraid Caddy was too scared to touch one dog hair. Looking at their slobbering jaws, drool dripping down their chins, he felt a shiver. He didn't need to fight; dogs had never done anything bad to him. Even tough, he felt the urge to - everyone else was fighting, why not he? He rolled his eyes. Even the traitorous kitten was fighting. Oh, help, I need that kind of courage. he thought, trying to stand up tall, which was extremely tall for him, squar his shoulders, and unsheathe his claws. He half-heartedly rushed into battle with the other cats.
NOO! Somebody help!!!!!!!

I can handle dogs, no problem! Azalea told herself, although she was wary as she approached the group of cats that was growing noisier. She took careful steps, avoiding items such as bags of potato chips and paper bags as not to make too much extra noise. She started to smell fear scent and even more gross, blood. She could tell it wasn't human blood, but it still didn't smell good. The rabbit-cat wrinkled her nose, aqua eyes still wide and alert.
Suddenly, she had the sensation of eyes on her pelt. No wonder, for it was bright white. The young cat darted under an unidentifiable ledge poking up, and trapping heat beneath it so the Japanese Bobtail started panting within seconds. It was probably metal, or maybe plastic, mostly from a storage bin of some sort.
Waiting a couple minutes, the young she-cat groomed her pelt. It was long hair, no doubt, but it was laying quite close so she looked like a shorthair. She fluffed it up, allowing cooler air(or what air there was under the ledge) to reach her skin. She even looked tougher. Not that she needed to look tough, but it wasn't bad to discourage cats from picking on her.
Feeling a wave of cool hit her as she leapt onto and clambered over the top of the bin, her strong hind legs easily boosting her over it. She found a writhing mass of cats, and all their different smells attacked her nose like a nest of bees.
Beyond them, taller than the crowd of cats and sticking out like a sore thumb(or so her humans always said), were the dogs. The word 'dog' was flying around the room like a tossed mossball, and Azalea calmed her nerves as she walked into the crowd. There was a dog next door. She could deal with them.
Then she saw a large dog carrying a cat's body in it's mouth and she froze on the spot. That could be me! ((Azalea: Open))

Bark:taken. (jarrah, winter, and lavender)
The black mutt laughed at the frightened look of the kitties eyes. His stomach growled, his mouth watered as he sniffed the scent of blood. Cats blood Bark's lips rose to show his fangs as he wanted to bite down into the carcusses. At the sound of the bitches (not using it as a cuss word.) bark, the dog sprang foward.
The taste of the sticky blood rolled threw his mouth as he ate a chunk. Bark made a quick snap at one of the other dogs, however, he quickly surpressed the snap. They were not who he was fighting. The cat's were. It was about high time the cats learned that this area belong to the dogs.
The brute looked up to see a barking cat. Confused, Bark simply watched it first. Suddenly, the big mutt was unable to hodl himself back and dived towards the feline, not caring for any order given to him from anydog. Not even shiba. Before he could reach the barking cat, he also spotted two others (jarrah and lavender) that were in close range of the tom. Close enough for him to take on all three.

((OKAY I DON'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE THIS ANY MORE CLEAR/
I'm not upset, I'm just tired, please don't think I'm mad at everyone I'm just confused because I really don't think this is so complicated.
THIS THREAD IS FOR POOOOSTS.
Yes, we'd like you to let people know if they are taken or not but please don't just post that. You need to make an actual post from your character and then have an OOC comment saying if they are taken are not.
There are tons of examples with everyone else's threads.
Please don't be upset, I swear I'm not mad at you at all I just really want to make sure this post catches everyone's attention - HENCE THE CAPS. Because I don't know what else to do.
Yes, I realize I'm going against my rule by just posting an OOC comment here but like I said, I don't know what else to do. For no, let's just fix any posts that need to be fixed and then I'll delete this.
Again, I'm noooot angry with anyone, no! I love you all, and I'm so glad to see the plot finally creeping closer to a climax ;] I just feel like I've explained this a lot already and then it's taking so much time that could be better spent working on the plot and posting.
So yeah, there's my vent. Again, I'm not mad and I don't mean this in a mean way so pleeeeeeease don't be mad at me. I just need to make this very clear.

Wolf is OPENAh, damn it all to hell. Really, what good would he be if he missed all the action? Whenever he was late to something around his… His Daisy, he would always say ‘Just fashionably late.’ But that was then. And… Well, you know the rest. Now, he cursed himself with more ferocity than was needed for just being a little late. He could always find more ways to be angry at himself with each passing day. He smiled. Wolf Sharpstone smiled. Ironically, it was because he had spotted those dogs that had nearly ripped him to shreds and ate the pieces.
Only, he was too late. They were already engaged in battle, unfortunately. Oh, how he would have liked to get one more paw swipe at them. To see them retreat with their tails between their legs. Submissive to the felines that were attacking them with renewed ferocity for all the wrongs committed against them. Ah, what a day. And yet another site that would tip the balance of what he had always established in his head as ‘proper’ and ‘out of place.’ But that had, well, no place right now. And, for the first time in a long time, he became almost giddy from the adrenaline pumping through him at the thought of another battle.
He took a deep breath the clear his head. He exhaled slowly. Being giddy wasn’t the best way to win a fight. Calculation combined with strength was the way to go, as he had always known. He scanned the scene before him with his piercing golden eyes, taking it all in as calmly as he could while his heart thumped a little fast in his chest at the thought of another battle. It consumed his thoughts, drowning out everything else. Everything. He laughed at the ridiculousness of this. This entire time, he had been trying to clear his head, and all he had to do was be faced with life-threatening circumstances? What a joke.
Wow, he really was losing it. I finally stop, stop making sense. Ooc: Short post… Lyrics: Run, Don't Walk - Hey Monday
