History: It was an early morning when the litter was born, only four kittens. They were born in a box stuffed with pillows and blankets, two children and a human mother stared down at the kittens and proud mother cat. The father was an outdoor cat, one that Sunray had bumped into on her rounds around the house one day and from that meeting, a love grew. Seed, as the father often was called or liked to be called hadn’t seen this birthing coming, it was a quick mate and he didn’t think that it was possible to have kittens so very soon, so it was a shock when Sunray had started to quickly gain weight and everyone noticed it. The proud parents were expecting and so were the human family that she lived with. Out of the four little ones was the strongest and lively one, Sky, blind and unable to hear he was still very intelligent and often the strongest one for being the second closest thing to the runt of the litter.
From that day on, the cats managed to grow rapidly and playing around very much with one another as well as their humans, Nick and May. Every so often they managed to get to go outside with the watchful eye of their mother and the two children. Seed would pick up the kittens scent as well as Sunray’s and come to check up on them, though he stayed away from the children, having a feeling that the humans wouldn’t know who he was and chase him away, yelling at him. That sly tom cat though was able to see the kittens at their play from high in the treetops looking down. It was only Sky that seemed to have noticed they were being watched and he hissed a bit at Seed, having no clue why he was watching them until Sunray told the four little ones that he was their father and just wanted to check up and see how they were doing, it was only then that Sky stopped with his hissing.
By the time there were old enough to leave their mother’s side, Sky was a favorite among the children, he was playful, cute and had the most beautiful eyes, much like his mother. It was a sad day when his bothers and sisters had to leave though it was nice to be able to stay with his mother even though she was a little bit moody at the moment. He would play for hours with May, who he found to be his favorite human and afterwards, it was always Nick who was ready to feed him at the sound of a meow. Life with humans was the best and he never planned on leaving, after all, who would want to leave a haven such as this? It was a dream come true to have a human, or so he had thought.
The months had passed, turning into years, he was getting older and noticing that May played with him less and that Nick was often ignoring him and his needs. Sunray told him that they get like this and that their mother would be kind enough to feed and give them water, in the meantime, he went outside to explore the world around him. He learned about snow, rain, hail and freezing cold as well as hot conditions. He’d meet up with Seed from time to time and rough housed with him, liking to defend his father why play-fighting like who he had done with his brother and sisters. Unknown to him, half the time Seed let him win, wanting to give him that boost he needed for confidence. When outside, he always liked to play around with the other cats of the neighborhood and try to catch a few birds too. Indoor and outdoor, indoor and out, he was never in one setting for too long.
Sky was having a hard time understand what this whole thing was about. The kids were crying as they stared at him and their mother was trying so hard to calm him down, when he went to see what his mother had to say, she explained. To his surprise, their money was low and they could only have one cat to pay for the food that they needed and other necessary human things, she said that they really loved the both of them but one had to leave. Hearing this, he wished his mother a goodbye, knowing that this was for the family and he had to leave without Nick and May thinking it was their fault or their human mother to get all upset and be the bad guy. The brave cat made his way to Seed and told him about this, bidding him a fair well, along with most of the cats he passed on the street that were his friends. This was very hard but it just had to be done.
Here Sky was now, a stray cat or how he liked to think of himself, a cool cat for saving his family like this. He planned to visit though but not be dependant on his humans anymore. The first thing he had to do was get this collar off of him but it was the only thing to remind him of his family so instead of getting rid of it, he decided to just keep it on him and wear it proudly, to tell all that he helped his human family out without them getting hurt. Though most mistook him for a house cat, he was on his own and after awhile of making his way far off from his family and friends, he continued on his way, not sure where he was heading but knew once he got there that it would be his new home.
New friends awaited him and he was itching to meet them, he’d miss his old friends and family too but this was the right thing to do. He’d meet up with them again another day, hopefully.
Personality: Sky often has a kitten-like excitement, when he is truly happy about something, its as though he reverts back to being a kitten and expresses it that way. To understand his kitten-like personality though, one would have to know just what he was like when a kitten. As a kitten, Sky was mildly hyper and he’d show it by rolling over on his back, meowing loudly, pawing at nothing in the air what-so-ever and being naturally curious but also somewhat jumpy. Now though, his curious ways have stayed past the test of time and just is fairly curious cat but also somewhat cautious, if he didn’t know what a noise was or what was going on than he’d approach with cautious, hissing even a bit to warn others that he wasn’t one to fool around. Though, now when he is excited, he tends to roll on his back and meow loudly, even pawing at air like he used to when young, something never had changed.
In his eyes, his humans were everything to him, he loved them just as much as they loved him. This was why he took it upon himself to leave. Sky always had a tender spot for kind humans, he would approach them with cautious but if he seemed to be kind, than he would purr and often just play around, most humans he bumped into were very kind to him. His growing love of humans seemed to never stop, he trusted them, or the ones he knew anyway and could just melt in their arms. He’s a human-lover that is for sure and he likes attention from them though he doesn’t always seek it, that thing just short of happens and when it does, he is more than happen to be with a human for a short while before going back on his way.
Sky comes off as somewhat shy at first, he is just being cautious and careful not to mess with the wrong cat or cats for that matter. His shyness would last for a short while, sniffing one over and seeing if they nice enough for his standers. It’s only then that he starts to show more of himself, kind and caring but also a bit more curious. He is very brave and shows it, though sometimes he gets himself into sticky situations because of his bravery but he finds some way out sooner or later and knows how to patch things up. Not only is Sky brave but he’s a risk taker, much more of a risk taker then others but he liked the thrill he managed to get when he was finished with something dangerous and life threatening.
As kind as he is, there are those times he gets angry and flares up, ready to fight or just trying to warn one away from him. Not much is able to set him off though and at times its hard to figure out just what can angry the happy-go-lucky Sky. There are times when he can attack without warning, feeling threatened and frightened of something, other times he hisses and growls, making a warning known which is mostly for cats who he doesn’t believe know any better such as kittens, otherwise, he’ll attack. Most of the times have to do with cats thinking he is a house pet and tease him because of his collar, he attacks them just as quick as they tease before leaving with his head held high.
He tends to be fearless but deep inside he can be frightened just refuses to show it. Actually, Sky managed to get that from Seed, not showing any fear even if he is terribly frighten that doesn’t mean that he appears this way all the time. Half the time Sky isn’t able to keep the fear from showing and managed to make himself embarrassed from doing this, other times he is able to come off as fearless as any born and raised, feral cat.
